That's a difficult one Mollygo and has got me thinking about a gardening club I went to and in the same situation... a table with one space...I am afraid I sat there quiet until the evening talk began. No one actually acknowledged me so I felt reluctant to join in. This could be a reminder to be friendly to newbies wherever you are.

Molly if you want to be included you persevere by posting each day and allowing the other posters to get to know you. I used to post regularly on GM and it was a whole different bunch of people. It is changing all the time and certainly not cliquey.

That wasn’t what I asked. I wondered what people do in real life.
How do you feel joining the only table with a space where everyone knows each other, they say hi and welcome you to sit down, but then quite naturally carry on with talking about their own things. Do you chip in, or sit there in silence till there’s a gap in the conversation?

All clean and polished , showered and shampooed in readiness for a friend coming for coffee and biscuits at 2pm.
We visit each other’s home alternately on Wednesday.
My Sand a gardener friend are coming to tackle my overgrown back garden.
I can’t wait as I can’t do it and gardeners are like gold dust here.

Coffee in Wetherspoons with best pal first thing. Now lunch in Asda's café with my youngest son; he lives near the store and he's taking an hour off his freelance work. 😁

Just got back from Morrisons.

Went for food….came back with plants! 😂😂

HelterSkelter1 Wed 12-Jun-24 12:28:43

Primrose53 I am sure your friend will appreciate such a thoughtful and useful present.
I woke up to feeling back to normal after what was a 24 hour reaction to the latest covid booster. Have been to Waitrose but much later than normal and will plant up a very pretty pink geranium I bought into a bigger pot this afternoon. And that's all today.

Earlier I went to check on my horse and her two companions and gave them their breakfast. I then collected three barrows of manure from the field, tipped it on the muck heap, then came home for my own breakfast. Pegged a load of washing out, checked the greenhouse plants, then sat down with a coffee to listen to Popmaster with DH. I'll go to the mobile butchers in the village before lunch. Later we're going to a family get together for our grandsons 9th birthday.

lovesreading Wed 12-Jun-24 11:42:54

I am grandma this morning and then I'll be putting laundry away this afternoon.

Greenfinch Wed 12-Jun-24 11:41:06

I hate driving but today I have to take DH to the hospital for laser treatment on his eye and then DD’s cat to the vet for a damaged tail. This evening I shall enjoy doing some family history. I have been taking advantage of the free weekend on the forces website to find out some interesting facts about my military ancestors of which there are many on both sides of the family. I am sure many of them would be horrified to know that their misdemeanours are being read about in the next century. One was court-martialled for two crimes the less serious one was “being insolent to a NCO “. I now need to collate all the information.

Good morning well nearly afternoon, just been to Liskeard Aldi from Looe to stock up it's going to be raining supposedly for the next few days😖 not keen on all the little roads here makes driving stressful.

tanith Wed 12-Jun-24 11:28:55

Well I've cut the back lawn and had a bit of a sweep up and sat down with a cuppa mybones hurt grin I'm intending to wash my car sometime today if the rain holds off. Not looking promising at the moment. I'm writing a list of extras to take as I'm having a few days away next week in Kent with my daughter her daughter and her two kiddies. Looking forward to that its 2+ hrs drive not done that long a drive for a while. Enjoy the day everyone.

Baggs

Carefully mowed a winding path around one of my northern marsh orchid patches, sat down with a cup of tea and did a crossword, will have a poached egg on toast for lunch and then go swimming.

Gosh that sounds like you have a spectacular garden Baggs.. I love marshes..

Cleaners come this morning which makes it a Good day, closely followed by the nice woman who does my nails which makes it an Even Better day. But alas prob followed by a search for my husband's hearing aids which he's put in some special clever place for the 104th time, and that makes it a 😩😩 day.

TerriBull Wed 12-Jun-24 10:46:28

Driving to the coast, about 15 miles away, where there is a lovely green sward area, we'll have a walk and then a light lunch at a seaside cafe we've discovered right on the beach. Just now sunshine it's appeared, in a non full on rather restrained way, not a balmy summer that's for sure.

Grannyme6 Wed 12-Jun-24 10:22:37

I was going to carry on pressure washing our rather large patio but my back is complaining after yesterday’s efforts. So after going for bread in our lovely little market town, I’ll gently work in the house, it needs attention!

henetha Wed 12-Jun-24 09:45:17

I'm doing one of my favourite things today, - meeting up with my lovely grandson for coffee and chat.

Primrose53 Wed 12-Jun-24 09:27:46

I am going to wrap up and post a crochet hat I made for a friend having Chemo.

I have some ironing to do.

We are going to our holiday let and double check it’s all ready for guests arriving for two weeks. Inside is all done, but may be a few weeds to pull up and I need to pot up a new plant for front door.

HowVeryDareYou2 Wed 12-Jun-24 09:15:34

Having my nails done at a salon, going to the cinema this afternoon, then having a dinner at a pub

nanna8 Wed 12-Jun-24 08:28:21

Book group was this afternoon and this evening ( in a minute) daughter and fam coming round because it is her birthday. I’ve made a cake and doing a seafood paella. Nice day for us.

Got up early to go to the gym, but hung the washing out instead.
It’s fine, and dare I say, sunny so we are going to walk with the dog along the estuary and have breakfast at a little cafe that welcomes people with or without dogs.
It’s a bit like GM. When we first went there, everyone else seemed to have been going for ages.

Good morning all 👋

We’re doing the Swedish Death Clean of the garage while we have a skip on the drive (roofers are in). So much stuff lurking in there that hasn’t seen use nor light of day in 25 years!
