Have a look at Stressless, mae13. A huge range of colours to choose from.

We have a peacock blue sofa. A lot of manufacturers let you choose the style and then the covering. When we were looking the dullest offfering was M&S.

My most hated colour is grey! Grey walls, grey furniture, grey front doors, grey carpets, grey fences, it was everywhere but thankfully the craze is subsiding.

I have seen lovely sofas in greens, mustards and the most beautiful jewel like shade of peacock blue.

We wanted to replace our sofas last year and spent many wasted hours finding the right shape but horrible colour choices.

The sofas we had 15 years ago were saggy and shabby so we returned them to the company and had them refurbished and recovered.

It was about the same price as brand new (maybe a little more) but the only quandary we had was choosing the fabric from a vast array of sample books.

If your furniture is structurally good, then do visit local upholsterers for a quote.

So much grey. So much black. And the only alternative seems to be flat, dull brown.

Have furniture designers and manufacturers all had a colour imagination by-pass?

I despair.
