Welcome dear Kitcheners. Enjoy the buffet and make yourselves comfortable. You are all extra special peoples (as our grandson used to say). flowers wine brew cupcake and a huge hug. smile

Good morning all and a hot one it is.
Yesterday was dull all day but very warm.
Today the sun is at full strength.

I have been for my yearly bloods and when I got back I got my scooter out and went through our lovely park and posted my voting papers.

My bottle of Sauvignon Blanc is in the fridge ready for 6 pm.
I haven’t decided what to have with it yet as I mostly eat on my own now.
My GD’s work and social life mean our timing is not compatible.
It will be light whatever I decide.

I send very kind thoughts to all who aren’t well or are caring.
That is a hard job as many of us know.

Stay cool and hydrated everyone.

Nannytopsy Wed 26-Jun-24 11:13:43

Oh dear, an unwanted visitor? At least it’s been dealt with quickly.
I hope everyone is keeping cool 😎

Hi all, a warm day down South, humid with the cloud cover this afternoon. As a consequence I’ve done little apart from early bathroom cleaning, washing and prep for the bbq for two MrJ is currently using. We’ll be done and dusted by kick off 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿.
Enjoy your meal out brook, oh yes, I know that feeling Grandmabatty even harder when it’s your grandchildren.
Hi to doodle and absent kitcheners 👋👋

soop Tue 25-Jun-24 15:27:08

Popping in to say hello to all our Kitcheners. It is a warm day. Little breeze. Placid sea. No much activity to report.

However, I shall mount my exercise bike and gently peddle to no place in particular just to prove willing.

Dental appointment tomorrow morning. A double tooth has broken. Oh the joy of having cold air puffed into the chasm. shock. It's a bit like hearing the GP say...just a wee scratch...as he plunges the needle into a vein.

Take good care of yourselves and your loved ones. A few nasty bugs are doing the rounds right now. Chest infections are rife in our village.

Bye for now. I shall select some gentle music to help me to cope with the bike ride. After which, I shall feel exceedingly smug. wink

Good afternoon kitchen pals, the sun hasn’t arrived here yet, it’s just warm and cloudy so I’ve been pottering in the garden
Thank you all for your kind wishes for DH, he’s still not well yet but I’m hoping the antibiotics will sort him out soon.
How frustrating nannytopsy I hope you’re not in too much pain until you can get sorted in September
I’m off out to eat this evening with a group of pals, I’m driving so there’s absolutely no chance of me having too much wine and the hangover from hell like last time🤦‍♀️
Gorgeous picture of DGS2 peeping through grandmabatty - I know that feeling well of having your heart in your mouth when they’re climbing up on playground equipment!
Sending ❤️ to nannyG4

Grandmabatty Tue 25-Jun-24 12:42:16

Good afternoon kitcheners. Dgs2 has been adventurous while grandma had her heart in her mouth. We have been to the park and fed the ducks. Dgs2 has been very good so far.

Jaxjacky Tue 25-Jun-24 12:03:38

How frustrating for you Nannytopsy I hope you’re not in too much pain.
NannyG4 your days must be long 💐

annsixty Tue 25-Jun-24 12:03:15

How hard NannyT
Ii can share your frustration as I had my THR cancelled on the Monday before the Friday I was booked in for it, but that was Covid.
I waited from early March to early October which was 11 months from going on the list.
I was in real pain by then, I hope your wait isn’t too bad, I know just how you are feeling.

Hot but not sunny here, I am inside with blinds drawn and will stay here.

I am waiting for a delivery of meat for the freezer.
I have no time slot, just sometime today.
Keep cool and stay hydrated everyone.

GrannySomerset Tue 25-Jun-24 11:52:43

How rotten, Nannytopsy, you must be utterly fed up. Just hoping that Mizuna is more fortunate with her imminent knee surgery. The wait is so painful.

Grandmabatty Tue 25-Jun-24 09:32:08

Oh Nannytopsy, how disappointing for you. No sunshine here, I'm afraid. Cloud and heat.

Nannytopsy Tue 25-Jun-24 08:56:59

It’s a cloudless morning in Suffolk and it’s going to be warm. RosiesMaw should’ve enjoying her holiday. If the gardener cries off, I shall iron in the cool. I had a phonecall yesterday which cancelled my knee operation, provisionally booked for 2 weeks today. Now looking at September. It will be 12 months since I saw the consultant and was put on the list and my bag has been half packed since Christmas. It’s wearing!
Glad MrB has his antibiotics and I hope he’s much better soon.
Enjoy the sunshine, even if it’s from somewhere cool and shady!

Grandmabatty Tue 25-Jun-24 06:53:29

Tilly you're absolutely correct! I'm in demand.🤣 It was very uncomfortable here last night. The humidity was off the scale. I hope everyone managed to sleep. NannyG4 my thoughts are with you.

Doodle Mon 24-Jun-24 22:25:49

Brook hope the antibiotics work soon and your DH feels a lot better.
NannyG4 big hug coming your way.
Hope you’ve all had a good day. I’m melting here. It’s going to be a warm night

NannyG4 Mon 24-Jun-24 20:44:19

Good Evening lovely people.
Hope you're all enjoying this sunshine, if you are able.

Usual day for me... Hospice then a calming peaceful walk on the beach.

Fondest love to you all 💕💕

Redcar Mon 24-Jun-24 20:14:48

Well done Mr Soop for getting a good photo of the Red Arrows. DH and I went to lots of air shows and have loads of photos of blue sky with tiny red dots in one corner, as the Arrows flew away!
Hope Mr Brooke soon responds to the antibiotics and that all the other poorlies soon feel better.
Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone!

TillyTrotter Mon 24-Jun-24 19:00:18

Good evening. Well it’s been a hot day but mainly humid which doesn’t suit me. The kittens are lying on the hard floors which are cooler and I am ashamed to say I like to hide indoors with the blinds closed a’la European style.

Get well wishes to Mr Brooke and anyone else who is below par. Dear Grandmabatty your attentions are in demand from your DGS’s they both want you all to themselves.

Salads seems to be very popular this evening. A good choice.
I fancy a Greek salad tomorrow.
Good luck in the quiz Jaxjacky.

Grandmabatty Mon 24-Jun-24 18:38:37

Good evening Kitcheners. Glad to hear that your dh was seen promptly and given medication. Annsixty* I had leftover trout and potatoes so whizzed up a potato salad and a green salad too. Very similar to your dinner. Dgs1 had a lovely time at the nursery festival. Their names and photos were put on stars and placed on a red carpet. There was a balloon display too where they got photos taken. The only downside was, he was stung by something nasty- possibly a wasp -on the back of his neck. So he was very subdued when I got him. Dgs2 has been good until I tried to spend time with dgs1 and his jealousy appeared. He was not happy that grandma was cuddling his brother and not him. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners.

Jaxjacky Mon 24-Jun-24 18:28:42

Hi all, that was very quickly sorted brook I hope he improves rapidly and you don’t succumb.
Our early morning blue skies were soon cloudy, so it’s been humid, forecast 28 on Wednesday, I’m hoping for storms afterwards. The voluntary phone was busy today, but lots of erroneous calls, quiz later.
It is an excellent photo soop

brook2704 Mon 24-Jun-24 18:07:56

Thank you everyone for your kind wishes, DH has been at the doctors this afternoon, he got a good checking over and now has antibiotics for a chest infection, hoping he’s on the mend soon.
It’s been a gorgeous warm sunny day here with a bit of cloud around which gave a welcome bit of shade. I got a bit of gardening done, sorted out DHs prescription, called into DD2s and did a food shop. DH isnt fancying much to eat except toast so it’s dinner for one tonight
A great picture by Mr Soop well done as they’re not easy to photograph given their speed!

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 24-Jun-24 17:57:35

Hello kitchen people.

Isn’t it hot? One of our cats loves the heat and sleeps in a flowerbed. The other one stays indoors.

I’ve had a quiet day. OH played croquet this afternoon while I sorted out some laundry and read the paper.

Enjoy the sun!

annsixty Mon 24-Jun-24 17:23:46

A late Good afternoon everyone.
I have been floored by the heat today and have achieved very little.
Fortunately I cooked two pieces of salmon yesterday and have potato salad left.
With a smidgen of salad that will be my meal.
I hope the poorly ones, Brooke’s H included are feeling slightly better today.

Those kittens are beautiful, but if like Molly , who I can’t believe is nearly 6, they do not like the extreme heat.
She mopes round under my feet mostly bur disappears outside after dark.

I must rouse myself and will wish you all a good evening if you are able to enjoy it.

soop Mon 24-Jun-24 15:39:58

Oh my! Those delightful felines have stolen my heart.

Please do not stay away for too long, corner, us lot enjoy your company.

brook Healing vibes winging their way from me to your husband. Our pal in the village has had a rotten time with the same virus.

Three resounding cheers for Charleygirl.

Llfl That is a beautiful photograph.

annsixty Your afternoon treat sounds absolutely wonderful. I love listening to brass bands in the open air.

We've had our outside render restored. It looks as good as new. Next job will be having the paving slabs power-washed.

I have some ironing to tackle. After which, I shall ride the exercise bike for thirty minutes. hmm

Mr Soop took a photo of four of the Red Arrows as they zipped along the coastline. I have no ide whether or not there was fifth. It all happened in a blurr. I watched them many years ago as they put on a low-flying display along the river Dart.

Nannytopsy Sun 23-Jun-24 23:45:02

Glad you had a good afternoon Ann and good news for Charleygirl.
I hope MrB is on the mend soon.
SueD what a relief that things are moving on.
We had neighbours for drinks on Friday (with canapés!), went to an anniversary garden party yesterday and had DS, DiL and stepGS for a BBQ today, so we have talked for hours! The weather has made such a difference!
Sleep well everyone 💤
