Mr Soop's scalp surgery has not been entirely successful. When the dressing was changed today, the GP said that the skin graft had been just 50% successful. He has now to see the dermatologist on Wednesday. His thigh, from which the skin was taken, remains very sore.

I took a photograph through our window of Saturday's glorious sunset. I am happy to share with you.

Good night. Sleep tight. moon

Naughtyneine I hope your knee improves soon and ignore Mrs Stubborn Old Goat. You need to rest.
My chimney has been leaking into the kitchen for months. The roofer has been twice but no joy. He was back again yesterday to start repointing but no sign of him this morning. My kitchen wall looks awful with the damp stains.
soop I hope something can be done to improve things for your husband.

Charleygirl5 Tue 18-Jun-24 11:19:55

neine you really must stop spending so much money on clothes.

Seriously, what a tremendous bargain and after the wedding, you will still get use. I do hope you make it in 8 days.

Please, please rest and elevate the leg when you are sitting.

The sun is out here today and the fellow is beavering away clearing out guttering and cleaning windows. He has laid some slabs and I will have a very smart garden front and back.

I have no idea what Urms is supposed to have written. I do not believe it whatever it was.

Two evenings without heating on- has summer arrived?

The 21st is the longest day- it is downhill after that! Perhaps I should go!

Soop I’m sorry that Mr Soop’s scalp surgery wasn’t 100% successful. Also that the skin graft site is so painful. Will he have to have further surgery on his scalp? Neine, your wedding outfit sounds lovely and at a bargain price! Your poor knee sounds so painful, please take it easy and don’t try to do too much. Have a good day everyone, I’ve put some mini magnums in the freezer in the kitchen for anyone who needs to cool down!

TillyTrotter Tue 18-Jun-24 11:39:46

Hi. I don’t pop in often enough but will try better.
Did I hear Magnums Redcar? - mint ones are my favourite.

Charley clean gutter pipes are a must. I often pass a smart house with weeks growing tall out of the gutters. Blocked gutters cause water ingress indoors.
Damp walls are awful AGAA and damp ‘creeps’.

soop best wishes to Mr soop; a sore head and sore thigh and maybe more treatment to come. He will needs lots of TLC.

Where are the photo’s of the milky coffee JV outfit Neine? they haven’t posted and I am looking forward to seeing your bargain.

Naughtyneine Tue 18-Jun-24 11:52:15

Here are the pictures... I'm veering towards the pretty crochet thing if I'm honest. It's slightly less Mother of the Bride....either with or without the hat. The shoes are brand new from the same boutique as the dress and jacket £5. There is a very real possibility that the whole wedding ensemble will cost less than £25. If I opt for the crochet pairing I will have spent a crazy £41 having paid full price for it in.....wait for it. Primani ( Primark to those of you who may never have darkened it's doors). I promise to get more excited when what I feel will be the real thing when the annulments come through.

aggie Tue 18-Jun-24 11:58:34

I love that outfit !

TillyTrotter Tue 18-Jun-24 12:13:17

I do too. Either will be wedding-perfect!

Hi all,

Apologies for not having seen these issues sooner and for interrupting your thread as it gets back on track.

Firstly, thanks to the one poster who flagged up that there has been some consternation over the deletion of Urmstongran's post.

As you know, we are a peer-moderated site and rely on users to get in touch. Had Urmstongran queried the deletion with us, we could easily have explained why we removed her post, and still can.

Candidly, to us the post did not read as supportive, and we do not intend to reinstate it but we are aware that the deletion has led to a great deal of derailing and bad feeling on what is otherwise a famously lovely thread and we are very sorry about that.

We can see that there are several posts suggesting that the act of reporting is somehow "sneaky etc" and we do need to underline with you all that this is simply not the case.

GNHQ very much needs you all as willing eyes and ears to help us keep the site running smoothly, and we can reassure you the decision as to what posts must go lies with GNHQ and GNHQ alone. The act of reporting simply flags up potential problems, it is we who take action.

We would like to apologise for not having known this derailing of such a good-hearted thread was taking place, and we will now tidy it up and get back to wishing YiaYia4's DH all the very best with his ongoing health issues.

Yesterday I went with a friend to a local mill outlet and they had a display of the little crocheted top by the changing rooms.
They had it in cream and a darker shade, one had darker coloured buttons, I can’t remember which.
My friend and I both remarked how very pretty they were.
We had some lunch in the little cafe there and we also went to Dunelm as I needed new towels and other household bits, new pegs, bath mat, freezer bags and kitchen scissors.
Also looked for new bedding for my GD but none appealed .
M&S will be checked online later.

She picked me up at 10:30 am and we got home at 4 pm.
I was beyond tired,I made a cup of tea and sat down and fell asleep until 6ish.
I then couldn’t sleep last night, so silly of me, I must learn to pace myself more.

Kindest thoughts to all.
Have the best day you can

annsixty Tue 18-Jun-24 12:49:44

GNHQ’s post popped up while I was typing.
I didn’t see the deleted post so can’t comment but I am pleased they have taken it so seriously as to feel they need to explain.
I now hope this will end the speculation of those of us who wondered.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 18-Jun-24 12:52:06

soop sorry to hear that Mr.soop is not recovering as well as expected 💐

TillyTrotter Tue 18-Jun-24 12:53:35

An apology is welcome and I hope Urmston sees it. Also the messages of support for her. I hope she comes back to Soop’s kitchen when she feels able. 🦋

Hiraeth Tue 18-Jun-24 12:55:09

Oh heck. I did read earlier, certainly saw nothing offensive in neines post. Somehow we all need to move on from this

Thinking of you neine I love the outfit, both jackets would look wonderful, because I am who I am I’d probably go for the crochet - because I like it and it’s a bit different. I’m no fashion expert though so best to ignore me. I’m inclined to give you the same message Mr C gives me when I’m dithering, go for the one you’re the most comfortable in. It’s a day for comfort.

I’m sorry mr soop will need more attention, what a shame, I know how resilient you both are but this does feel disappointing soop.

We also had a long day yesterday ann and like you found comfortable heaps to collapse into. Today has been some gentle garden pottering. The montana has been tamed without me falling from the step ladder, always a good thing. It really is too vigorous for the space. We’re wondering about enjoying it next Spring and then making changes.

It seems our wet wall issue has also been fixed. The proof of the pudding I know but the fix sounds reasonable to us both, we’re keeping 🤞and for once are pleased with our Development Manager, reported and sorted.

It’s been a lovely day here, not too hot and sunny all day. Just what the doctor ordered.

Love to all.

Redcar Tue 18-Jun-24 17:06:55

I read Neine’s message and didn’t see anything offensive in it.
A warm mostly sunny day here, pottered in the garden for a while, frustrated because I am physically unable to do as much as I’d like.
Decorator has made a good start on the bedrooms, but the rest of the house is a tip because the contents of said bedrooms are spread all over the other rooms and the garage! Will I ever find anything again?
Enjoy your evening everyone.

Good grief... Surely I haven't been deleted for Mrs Stubborn Old Goat!!! How does one find out what exactly caused offense? I can only assume it was my reference to posters on other threads unless fat knees is a no no on GN. Urms if you are reading we are both now in naughty girls corner. 😂😂😂😂

Good afternoon kitcheners. There seems to be report happy folk on here! It's all very strange. Soop I'm sorry that Mr Soop is still sore. I send a virtual hug to you both.
Well ladies, I have survived two full days and nights with the boys. I'm truly exhausted. They honestly haven't been badly behaved, just full on. Dgs2 is now toilet training himself mostly but it's not always successful. Dgs1 got a fulsome report from nursery and we are all very chuffed with him. My house is an absolute riot and I'm going to have to take it a room at a time. Dgs2 is putting his toys in my oven and shouting pizza ready! So I'll have to check the oven before I switch it on. Every room is choked with toys. So I'm pretending it doesn't exist and having a glass of wine before I start. To be fair, I've had such a lovely time with them but I'm no longer young and they are very active boys. I wish you well this evening.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 18-Jun-24 18:06:47

Hello kitchen people.

Gosh, there seems to be a phantom complainer on here at the moment!

I’ve had a good day so far. An excellent haircut. She suggested I have my roots done next time. I’m not quite ready to go grey!

The exhibition of Duncan Grant paintings in Oxford was very good and we had an excellent speaker.

I do hope Mr Soop has his scalp fixed pdq.

Have a good evening.

brook2704 Tue 18-Jun-24 18:26:06

Hi kitchen pals, goodness me I don’t know what’s been going on here today with all the deletions 🤷‍♀️

Such a shame Mr Soops scalp surgery was only partly successful soop I hope there’s more they can do
Well done with the childcare grandmabatty I hope you can get a well earned rest this evening and a very well done to DGS1 on his nursery report 😇

I was at the eye clinic this morning and they put lots of drops in, as a result I’ve had blurred fuzzy vision all afternoon - it’s just starting to clear a bit now but not right yet
Take care all and have a lovely evening x

Jaxjacky Tue 18-Jun-24 19:28:02

Hi, I’ve been out and about today, not sure what I’ve missed here.
Just finished watering and it’s warm out there! Imogen’s last day at school tomorrow, last GCSE, she’s done so well, the new epilepsy drugs started 6 weeks ago are 🤞doing their job.
I’m sorry Mrsoop is not 100% ‘fixed’ and hope his thigh improves.
The matching jacket for me neine very stylish and all of it cleverly put together.
My ears were micro suctioned today, again, twice a year, £60 a go, the NHS used to do it for nothing.
Grandmabatty two glasses, make yourself a space and rest.
