I did not expect to be on the move before the weekend, how wrong I was.

Luckily I made a fair amount of Hun's soup for all to enjoy. I called it that because the person who gave me the recipe only ever called me Hun. It is mushroom and carrot but it has a mild "kick" to it, you have been warned.

I doubt if Sweetie Pie appreciates the lovely food provided.

I do not pray but a few of you are in my thoughts.

I hadn’t come across life in a hospice when my husband was ill. The nurses from a hospice at home really helped. I can empathise with a lot of you. Talking helps so keep going

Such a lovely new Kitchen, bright and shiny! Thank you, Soop. (I’m glad Sweetie pie put in an appearance.)

I’m afraid I am a poor correspondent right now but that doesn’t mean I don’t think of you all. The house repairs have begun and it’s been hugely disruptive so I don’t have much time to myself atm. We’re trying to settle into a new routine of glamping in our house as we’d rather be here than in a hotel.

Fortunately the cats seem unphased, though as they now have an entire bedroom as a boudoir they should be very happy! Here’s a photo of one of them who squeezed down behind my dressing table mirror, taking advantage of being allowed in our bedroom, which is normally out of bounds to them.

Always a safe haven. I too often sneak in and sit in the comfy chair in the corner.

Doodle Wed 12-Jun-24 21:40:14

I’m just going to sit in the corner and enjoy the company. NannyG this is the best place to get support and understanding.

Grandmabatty Wed 12-Jun-24 20:51:47

NannyG4 we are here to listen and to hug, albeit virtually. Never worry about having to share your problems.

Jaxjacky Wed 12-Jun-24 20:28:57

Anytime NannyG4 there’s always someone around, you’re having a really tough time x
Thinking too of Yia Doodle Baggs and others who are facing their own sadness, worry and pain 🌷

How lovely to open up GN and find myself in a brand new kitchen! A safe haven to pop into each evening.

I usually sit over there in the corner, safely listening to the chatter. Just made spicy wraps to share x

kittylester Wed 12-Jun-24 20:07:14

I am always sitting in corner quietly or looking through the window keeping an eye on you.

Here is a chocolate sponge with biscoff butter cream - help yourself.

I hope to join in more - I love The Kitchen.

Redcar Wed 12-Jun-24 19:59:57

This is such a lovely safe place to be. And with delicious food as well. I have read your posts for a while but haven’t joined in before. If it’s ok i’ll just sit for a while.

Soop’s kitchen - a Sanctuary to all who drop in.

I will add a tray of brownies to the growing feast. Wishing everyone a peaceful evening.

All this food, sounds delicious.......
What a cosy comfortable place to pop into.... It's my haven at the moment.....I feel so safe here.
Hope you've all had the best day you can under your circumstances.....
Visited my DH in hospice, they are now talking about moving him into a nursing home... He's too young 😭😭, never thought he'd end up like this... My heart is broken.
I am concerned that I'm dominating this thread with my woes but it just helps me to offload, sorry.
Love to all my lovely friends... embrace life and tell your friends you love them , it costs nothing but means the world...
A photo from my beach walk today... Can you see God's Eyes....

Happy new kitchen and thank you soop for another grand opening.
Goodness, what a feast has been brought in tonight!

I’ve just brought …. My appetite! Nom, nom. 😁

Jaxjacky Wed 12-Jun-24 19:03:55

Thank you soop a hearty veg and lentil soup from me, it’s chilly, with fresh wholemeal rolls to dunk.

cornergran Wed 12-Jun-24 17:46:14

A fresh from the oven quiche, some mixed salad and a bottle of fizz added to the feast. I’d love to enjoy a sit down but must rush. Thank you for the new kitchen soop.

Grandmabatty Wed 12-Jun-24 17:30:46

I'll bring slow cooked ragout for the meat eaters. And I'll happily do the virtual dishes.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 12-Jun-24 17:18:41

There is a 3-layer blackberry and lemon cake on the side. I’d recommend a whirl of whipped cream with it.

Nannytopsy Wed 12-Jun-24 17:14:21

There’s a carrot cake on the table!

Yiayia4 Wed 12-Jun-24 17:08:59

Hello! I have some farmhouse Lancashire cheese from a local cheese maker, plus some olive and black pepper flatbreads. Dig in, I shall settle myself on this cosy chair by the wood burner 😊

Pittcity Wed 12-Jun-24 16:36:28

Naughtyneine Wed 12-Jun-24 16:30:32

Fresh baked doughnut muffins on a posh plate ( ooh) and some cheese and chive scones for savoury lovers..to help the new kitchen celebrations get underway. Enjoy
