Morning all. No real plans today other than work (I'm here now, it's a slow day), then watch GC soccer match.
It's been so cold here as well, 10 degrees c. Yesterday there was a break in the clouds after work, so DH and I sat outside for a bit, but it was so cold I had to come in! Summer, please grace us with your presence!

Good Morning Thursday 13th June 2024
(53 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
A clear blue sky and its dry here in brackley at the present moment .
My regular routine today of bus trip to Bicester , maybe a coffee plus shop and meet up with those I know.
Returning home for lunch.
Take Care,
Mick
Thank you GrandMattie. I'm glad to hear that she's fine
Thank you for letting us know Taichinan is alright, grandMattie.
Am I being a prude? Today in the supermarket were two high school girls; their skirts were so short that when one of them bent over you could see everything (I saw before I had a chance to look away). I wore mini skirts back in the day but they were much longer than the majority of school skirts around where I live today. I do feel that skirts should be a bit longer for decency.
I have reported the post by walkerwilson. Spam on GM!!
Good news about taichinan, thank you.
I pm-ed taichinan. She is fine, been very busy with visitors and time spent with family.
She was very touched that we should worry about her. She’ll be back at some time soon.

Afternoon all. Just thought I'd mention that I have not seen Gwenisgreatposting on the GM thread recently. I hope she's alright.
I just ‘disappeared’ my post so will just wish Mick and all a good day. Hope the GP appointment goes well luluaugust.
Hi to Taichinan and also Susan56 also missing at the moment.
Hope the altercation hasn’t upset you too much Gingster
Just popping back in to give my surgery praise where praise is due. DH and I filled in E Consult forms at 8.15 and at 8.45 the receptionist phoned us and gave us an appointment with the Dr for this afternoon. I haven't seen this particular Dr, or indeed any GP, since before the first lockdown so should be interesting and one way of having an afternoon out together!
Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton. Slept in till nearly 9 this morning!
Yesterday was spent catching up on a few household jobs and then cutting the back grass in the afternoon.
Sainsbury's delivery this morning then a few more things to do around the house. I may hop on the bus to the shops this afternoon.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning Mick and everyone from cloudy Lancashire, currently 11°C.
MrB and I are off out for lunch today. We are meeting his sisters and their husbands at a country pub. I haven’t been there before, MrB tells me it’s very nice. Something to look forward to.
Have a good day wherever you’re doing 🌻
😡. Just had an altercation with the rudest woman I’ve met in a long time. Her and her husband have a huge caravan parked outside their house along with a big truck that collects people’s rubbish . I was walking little dog and she had her doors open on the truck so I couldn’t pass by on the pavement. I said could I get passed please. She gave me a mouthful of abuse with quite a few expletives and said why don’t you walk around . I said I’m not walking in the road! . Not a nice start to the day! 🙄
Good morning Mick and all from sunny Ibiza. Nice day yesterday with boat trip and hippy market.DD bought two beautiful long line dresses and I bought a pretty ring.
A quiet day by the pool today with a good book. Although I apparently have an abscess, it’s not bothering me so far, fingers crossed.
I too miss Taichinans thoughtful posts and thoughts to all 🌺
Good morning Mick and everyone from a cool and overcast Carlisle. The CH is still coming on morning and evening, I'm still in sweaters and fleece gilets....
I collected my prescription yesterday and treated myself to some new tinted moisturiser whilst in the shop. I'm guilty of keeping stuff for an age in my makeup drawer although I' m now aware they have a limited life once opened. Nothing awful seems to have happened to my face though...only advancing years!
I resisted red meat temptations in the M&S food hall and bought a veggie meal instead. It's not a penance, they're tasty.
Home to the ironing and then a Tesco delivery. The chatty delivery man proved to be a kindred spirit, he too loves to visit the world's far flung and wilder places so we had a swap of experiences.
Today will be pottering around getting a few small jobs off my to- do list which seems to grow faster than I get jobs done.
Have a good day everyone.
Good Morning from a cold wet Co Armagh, it is 11 but it feels colder than the 8 it was yesterday! I’m back in my cords and woolly cardigan
I have to get a few bits and pieces in the local Spar after Mass , the children from the primary school take up a nice bit of space , the congregation is very small when the holidays kick in
Might go for coffee in the wee cafe , we walk past it and it does look inviting !
Have a care everyone x
Good morning from a dry NE for now, forecast is for rain this afternoon.
Didn't do much yesterday, sorted some paperwork and tidied a cupboard in the study. It is the warmest room in the house, if I sat in the lounge I would have to turn the thermostat up.
Quiet day again just recycling to sort.
SIL on his way home to Brussels but DD and him will be back in a fortnight for his brother's 65th birthday party.
Take care in the heat those on holiday but enjoy.
Have a good day everyone.
Morning from a grey S Hants, 13 and rain due later this afternoon, it will be welcomed for the garden. Taking a friend out to lunch today, her birthday was last weekend, I need to call in the pharmacy for a chat too.
You’re a busy lot today! Enjoy your trips out and holidays.

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset. It feels cold and rain is on the way.
Domestic stuff today, cottage pie base to get in the slow cooker, much dust to remove, admin to do. All sounds very boring if essential
Hope Thursday is kind to us all.
Good morning all from the Black country, very overcast but DH fishing gear in wash so hope it stays dry.
DS is 42 today and I can remember it being very very hot that day, we will see him and family later we are going for a meal.
Another drop off at charity shop.
Slept through for 8hrs so haven't read through yet, so shall wish everyone a good day whatever their plans.☀️
Good morning all, from a sunny but cool Co Durham. No rain forecast till late afternoon so the washer is working.
I read every day but usually don’t post much as mornings can be busy. No school escort today so I’ve more time. Love the continuing stories, both happy and sad.
My cleaner will be here later, thank goodness. My arthritic hands prevent some household jobs. ( or maybe it’s a case of #lazy gran as dear Urms puts it).
I too was wondering about Taichinin
Thinking of those with sorrows to bear.
Hope you all have as good a day as possible.
Good morning all, its only 7°C.
What a busy thread this morning, I had a very bad night, then eventually fell asleep when DH got up.
We had some sad news yesterday, a very close friend of my son died of cancer yesterday, he is devastated. On top of that DS has been unwell. I am so sad for him and Dollie, who was very soclose to her.
I had a lovely time at the hairdresser yesterday, with only my stylist, the owner and myself in the shop. They insisted I go through my phone and show them all my photies of Dollie and Babydoll. I was away for so long that DH becoming concerned.
Today, I have the dreaded dentist. I had a buckle put over a cracked tooth and now it too has cracked.😔
I then need to go over to the doctor's to pick up prescriptions.
Late yesterday afternoon I discovered a missed call from the surgery. Apparent,y I need to attend the Critical Heart clinic at the surgery. I find that name very unsettling,
Hopefully this afternoon, between showers, I will finish putting in the remaining plants I bought yesterday.
For all those on holiday abroad, be careful in the heat.
Take care everyone and have the best day possible. Llfl, your day sounds interesting and Mizuna, I love St. I love St Ives!! 💚
I too have been wondering if Taichiban was OK.
Good morning from another cloudy, rain forecast, Cambs. Today I have my Pilates class followed by a lunch out with DH and the son and his wife of my mum’s dearest life long friend. Now both our mums have gone we meet up every few months and always lovely to see them and catch up on news of our families. I won’t have to cook tonight either which is a bonus!
Wishing a happy day to everyone 💐
