Good morning from a very damp hillside in south Glos where thunderstorms are forecast for today 🙄
Yesterday I had a busy day, Iwent to the garden centre and, needless to say, I couldn’t resist buying a few plants. In the afternoon I had Stitch club, lovely catching up with my friends over a cup of tea. I managed to knit a few more inches of the next pair of socks too!
I walked the dog twice because DH was too busy doing things to his shed - including removing the entire back wall despite knowing it’s going to pour with rain. Goodness knows why he’s doing it!
Today the base is going down for the summerhouse Mk2, fingers crossed!

Good morning from a mixed Bristol, not bright not wet, chilly still. I was so cold last night that I took a hot water bottle to bed. It was bitter all day, I got my winter coat out.

I planted out my sunflowers and made an ingenious protector from slugs. I hope it works. There are few things more discouraging than nurturing seedlings onltbtoseethem chewed up within hours of planting out. My sunflowers always end up like that. I also noticed two tomatoes in one of my pots.

Dinner at DD’s was very pleasant. She also showed me the amended letter of complaint to the bank, full of legal terms and bank legal obligations we would never have known about. DD will send it today, giving the bank 15 calendar days to reply. 🤞🤞🤞

Penultimate Spanish class today. Unless I get money back, I won’t be able to afford the classes next term. Unlike Kent, there are no pensioner discount. Only if I’m on benefits.

We’re at the half off, half on stage with the roof and it was blowing a hooley yesterday afternoon and evening 🌪️ and so cold I succumbed Dear Readers….yes the CH went on😱 for a couple of hours!

Belated birthday greetings 🍾🥂 to Liberty, Mr Monk and anyone else I may have missed while tending the canteen for the menfolk - I’d forgotten how much sustenance working chaps need to keep them sweet 😉

A trot to see my dad today with his Father’s Day card and a pot of my raspberry jam - he’s always delighted to see me …maybe it’s the jam🫨

Good morning from a cloudy Sarthe where temperatures are disappointingly similar to the cool ones experienced in Torbay in recent weeks.

An indoor domestic day beckons here, too, Mick, now that DH and the gardener have conquered the overgrown lawn and verges around the perimeter hedge.

We both feel in need of quieter days after the travelling of the past week or so. Tiredness has caught up with us, reminding us that we need to pace ourselves!

Good luck with the building of summerhouse 2, RosesandLilac, and with the bank correspondence, grandMattie. I do hope they respond positively.

Good. Morning from a wet and cold Oxfordshire.

Up half the night again with MissOops, she was a lot better yesterday evening, but now the sickness is back with a vengeance, GP said to take her to A and E so I think that’s where we are headed as she’s been like this since the early hours of Tuesday morning and she can’t keep any fluids down at all. I’ll quickly take the dog out in a minute so that’s one job out of the way then we’ll have a think about our next move.

I have been awake since 4am with stomach pains, been up walking around and had tea.
Heating has just come on, it was on all day yesterday and I still had to wear a fleece and thick socks.
A quiet day with my book today as I do not feel up to doing any housework.

I have sticky parts on my laptop, it was the solvent from the can of canned air. Annoying, I need to find out how to make it feel smooth again. I did the upstairs drains yesterday, washing soda, boiling water and an old brush. There is still a whiffy smell from my en suite cistern andI might delve into that area today

Anyway, having spent the day indoors I am going to try and get myself out by 8, for a walk. Cold and rainy weather, jumper on today

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

Childminding day but the weather is forecast to be foul today which is a pity as two of my Edinburgh DGDs attend an outdoor arts and crafts group in Holyrood Park on Friday afternoons. They gather materials in the wooded areas and make all manner of things, this being the last of this term means it’s a family day and they can bring along an adult, usually me. I suspect with thunderstorms coming it will be cancelled as was the school sports day earlier in the week.

There were only four of us at our yarn group last night but we had a lovely chatty evening.

Everything crossed that the letter works and your bank reimburses you gM, and quickly.

After yesterday’s busy day (Oxford for lunch and an exhibition) we will be staying in. I have a stack of ironing which I’ll do this morning. I also have quite a bit of WI admin including summarising quite a large document!

OH is looking forward to watching the first Euros match tonight.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is trying hard at the moment but it’s cold. We’ve had rain overnight. Had a nice walk yesterday morning and then lunch at DDs. I enjoy the chance to chat to her for a hour without the distractions of GS and SiL putting in their four penn’orth! This morning I have a food shop to do as DS and DiL are coming for lunch tomorrow. They are off on a long haul holiday next week so I won’t see them for a while.
Volunteering this afternoon. I’ll walk to school if the weather holds.

Good morning from a blue-skyed Cornwall though thunderstorms are forecast. I'm in bed riffling through my button box as I'm turning a 50p charity shop men's shirt into a hoodie. I've cut off the tails and cuffs and made a hood from the fabric. I wear a lot of hoodies but they're too warm for the summer. What summer, I hear you all say. 😁

I had a bit of a later start today as it is Founder’s Day at DD3’s school so she has the day off. However, I am still needed at ten o’clock to watch the boys while she goes to an appointment.

That must be so worrying for you Oops and absolutely horrible for Miss Oops. Looks like a difficult day for you, I do hope she will get some help as that is too long to be so sick.

I will attempt to go to the DIY store today so I can get going on sprucing up the back yard. It’s too hot to sit out much but at least it will look more inviting , I hope! I do miss DH even more when things need doing, he could turn his hand to anything and I’m useless but will do my best.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and very grey. There was much rain last night and overnight and more forecast for today. GrandMattie fingers crossed that the amended letter does the trick. Oops poor Miss Oops. I hope the hospital can help her. Grammaretto safe journey to Denmark.
Yesterday I pottered about the garden and did some sawing of branches and weeding. My aunt by marriage, who is younger than me, popped in for a coffee and chat. I'm very fond of her and was happy to see her. I didn't do much in the afternoon except make a lasagne for dinner which tasted lovely.
Today should have been dgs1's school/nursery picnic. It's an annual event and good fun with donations going to a children's hospice. However it has been cancelled because of the weather. I might see dd and dgs2 after playgroup. I think dinner might be cheese omelette and chips and I might bake something today. I might visit mum too. There are many 'mights' in today's plan! I have a new set of golden acrylic paint to source and I'm going to start a painting for my aunt. She admired the allium one I did, so I'll paint her a smaller version. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a bright but damp South Downs. Not particularly warm and rain forecast for part of the day at only about 15c.

Pleasant afternoon with 7 other friends - half of whom are still working. We sat in the garden which was overflowing with roses, accompanied by a robin who kindly shared our tea with us. Got to hear all the gossip about work, which to me feels entirely irrelevant after 18 years retirement.

Today off to the tip with a pile of old paint pots and other bits, then the garden centre -DH wants something strong to protect his seedlings from Tofu who insists that the earth is his to use as he wishes - which does not take much imagination. We have got a very strong wire contraption which does the trick but isn’t big enough - so we are hoping we bought it from the garden centre as we can’t find it anywhere online.

If we’ve got time we thought we would just nip into Knepp and see the white stork fledglings - they have done really well this year. I love to hear their clacking.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. The weather can’t seem to make its mind up. Sunny when we woke half an hour ago, but looks chilly out and we have grey clouds now.

Himself has been offered weekly sessions of reflexology at the MacMillan Centre, starting today, for the next six weeks. He’s looking forward to going. I can remember the days he’d have laughed at the idea. His diagnosis has changed his perception of a lot of things.

Good morning from a grey, damp Colchester.
I was reminded that it IS Summer yesterday when I picked a few ripe strawberries in the garden. We bought a 20p seemingly dead plant 2 years ago and this year it's flourishing.

Today the Antiques Roadshow is filming at a City Art Gallery and we have spectator tickets. It's going to be 18° with a thunderstorm forecast, so I won't be wearing the Summer dress that I planned to wear.

Good morning all and it’s bright but chilly here in Essex.

I had a lovely day yesterday with my two old school pals. We went to the Stratford Olympic Park for coffee, a wander around and late lunch. They are building a V and A museum and BBC, Sadlers Wells which should be ready the end of the year. We had a look around the London College of art and fashion. Very different and interesting.

Goodness it was so windy we could hardly stand up. Whistling round the tall buildings and off the river.

I hope Missoops gets some attention and doesn’t have to wait too long in A and E. The doctors always say ‘go to A and E’. No wonder they’re run off their feet.

Harrigran and Kitty hope you feel better. Take it easy.

The sun has now disappeared and it looks like ☔️.

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where it is 12°C.
Once again, a very busy thread and much bizzyness!

Yesterday's visit to the dentist wasn't exactly pleasant. All that was supposed to happen was that the dentist put a new buckle over the offending tooth. I ended up with a deep filling, only then to then be told that I probably needed a crown.
The filling part wasn't the problem, it was the excruiating pain caused by the R.A. in my jaw. I had to keep asking the dentist to stop to give me some respite.
For some reason the numbing left me feeling nauseous, with a blinding headache and I ended up having to go for a lie down. Another day lost from my life.

Praying that Miss Oops get some relief, that the bank letter does the trick, GA, the summerhouse presents no problems and safe journey, Grammaretto
