Morning Mick, morning All. There’s a heavy sky over our corner of Somerset.
Volunteering this morning and TaiChi this afternoon. We also had heating on yesterday, Mr C was frozen and I wasn’t much better.
Hope you can get some help for your daughter oops. That letter surely must do the trick grandmattie. A new summerhouse beginning roses, this one will be faultless, I know it. Get well wishes harri and all feeling unwell
Hope Friday is gentle with us all.

Good Morning Friday 14th June 2024
(40 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its bright, cloudy but dry here in brackley this morning.
A day indoors as a contractor is coming to check electric etc, hopefully this morning ,as I have a opticians appointment this afternoon .
Apart from that a quiet day .
Take Care,
Mick
Safely home after a splendid few days away with weather better than forecast and lots a of good memories. I am however absolutely shattered so will be glad of a quiet few days. No stamina at all these days. Just as well I like being at home.
Good morning from a cloudy but still dry Suffolk. Yesterday was warm and sunny, unlike the predictions. Sadly I keep hearing of several childrens’ sports days either being cancelled or rained off half way through after short lived but torrential downpours.
I had a lovely lunch with 3 friends yesterday with delicious seafood in a small restaurant overlooking a quiet beach near Lowestoft. Today I’m going in the opposite direction to Woodbridge to meet a different 3 friends for lunch, both groups initially work colleagues from different times in my career. Good to keep up such friendships which have deepened since retirement.
I hope that those with ongoing issues to sort out soon get a satisfactory solution and those struggling with health or other worries find comfort.
Good morning everyone from a rather mixed morning here in Northampton, rain forecast later, but intermittent sunshine and cloud at the moment.
A morning of pottering yesterday; mopped the bathroom floors, hoovered the bedrooms and the stairs.
Managed to get a face to face at the surgery yesterday for someone to look at my leg, which is still giving me pain after falling down a step at the theatre last month. Was told that I have probably bruised my shin-bone, and could take 7/8 weeks to heal. Was also told I could resume dance classes, so that's where I'll be off to this morning, but take it gently and stop if it's too much.
Will try and brave the showers after lunch and go to the shops. Have just realised I have used the last of my batch-cooked curries, and need chicken or turkey to make another lot.
Looks like a busy day for most GNs today, so hope it's a good one.
Good morning from a, yet again, soggy Sefton. Rain forecast all day & possibly a bit stormy later. We had planned to take the train into town to click & collect some books & replenish DH's dwindling stock of black T-shirts - he wears a 'uniform' of black T-shirt & jeans. (DiL2 complained that DS2 was similarly boring so he bought a bright sunshine yellow hoodie & matching trainers!I have learnt to say nothing.) He sometimes throws caution to the wind by wearing a navy blue t-shirt. But I think we'll knock that plan on the head in view of the weather. Another duvet day it is, but first my 2 zoom exercise classes.today is kind to you all.
Hoping today is kind to you all.
Good morning from another cloudy chilly morning in Cambridgeshire. Goodness there does seem to be a lot going on with everyone and sending best wishes for a good hopefully healthy pain free day to all.
I have Eye Clinic appointment this morning with various scans etc which will take most of the morning. I won’t be able to drive for a few hours after so DH will do the school pick up. It is then the school summer fayre.
Our heating went on last night then I got overheated 😂
Good morning from Durham, where there’s a blue sky and it’s going to be a little warmer today, but the downside is with heavy rain!
Got the bill for the building work - eye watering, as I didn’t realize the scaffolding hire was extra! It had to be done, so it is what it is. Gulp!!
Little Dog was groomed yesterday and she found a tick on him - safely removed, but I’ll keep my eye on him. Groomer says they are prolific this year.
After staying in to provide refreshments for the builders, I can get back to normal, so coffee with a friend this morning. I’ll go to the bank later and do the transfer to the builder, I don’t trust myself to move such a big sum.
Sorry you’re unwell Harri and I hope others in the sick bay improve.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Quiet morning here as we are both still wheezing away. A bit of ironing and tidying around.
I hope MissOpps gets swift attention.
Hope the letter works gM
Marydoll that sounds really nasty hope it all settles down
All the best for today’s comings and goings
Good morning Mick and everyone from cool, damp and overcast Carlisle. Looking at the forecast, rain is due nearly every day next week.
With that in mind, I mowed the front lawn before lunch. The wimpy grass isn't growing much but is throwing up flowering stalks and I like the front to look well groomed.
Today, the kitchen is getting my attention, a good wipe down for everything and my thoughts are lightly turning to defrosting the freezer, not in the next week though, I'll run it down a bit more. Then it will be catching up with reading for the afternoon although I would like to get out and trim back one or two of my shrub roses which are overladen and drooping with lots of soggy shrivelled blooms.
I really hope something can be done for MissOops, sounds awful and she can't go on like that so good luck at A&E Oops.
Keep warm, everyone!
Good morning Mick and everyone from cloudy Lancashire, currently 13°C.
MrB and I had a lovely time yesterday catching up with family. The pub restaurant was new to me, really nice and good food. The chat as ever was mighty! Rain forecast for today, a day of pottering indoors here.
Happy Friday everyone 🌷
Good morning Mick and all from sunny Ibiza. Spent the day around the quiet pool yesterday and started a new Angela Thirkell novel, just right light reading for the hols.
We are enjoying some unusual meals here, the hotel is under new management and has had a refurbishment. We do miss the usual chef however on our fourth visit…
Just a walk around the marina and coffee to end the day. Cramp calmed down last night. Maybe the sun on my legs helps.
Thoughts to MissOops Harri and all with worries 🌺
Morning all, will catch up later, have a good day 🙋♀️
I feel your pain Marydoll. I don’t have RA but I do have a TMJ disfunction and some nerve damage. Luckily my lovely dentist knows my problem and always pauses a few times.
Good Morning from a dry Co Armagh !!
Youngest Daughter with her eldest Daughter coming for the weekend today , looking forward to plenty of chat and some crafting , me crocheting and she always has some knitting in her bag ! 15 yr old Granddaughter is an expert eye roller !
The difference in perspective between us is interesting , I think a weekend is very short , Daughter thinks we’ve ages together , Granddaughter thinks it’s forever 🤣
My tomatoes and cucumbers are looking promising in the greenhouse ,Salad leaves and mint flourishing ,
Never know whether to tidy before they come of just leave it till they go 🙄 as long as it’s clean !
