Good Morning Monday 17th June 2024

I am one who reads this thread every day and very rarely posts! It's part of my morning routine along with a cuppa. So thanks to all who do post ........ Keep up the good work

Good Morning from Durham. It’s forecast to rain later, again.
Back to normal, after the builders, so coffee with a friend this morning, then I need a few cards - I was told yesterday that DH’s cousin had died earlier this month, but the family hadn’t let extended family know.
I’ll call for some plants on the way home and if I can dodge the showers, I’ll plant them later.
A walk with Little Dog tonight, then I’ll take him home to DD2.
Scary time Oops - the NHS at its best - hope it’s done the trick.

Today we’ve got some workmen’s round, the roof needs a good clean as we’ve got quite a bit of moss growing on it so hoping it looks much better later.
A sad day tending the grave corner safe travels though
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a warm sunny Suffolk. What a change from the recent damp dull ones.

DH and I will probably go to the beach with the little dog for her walk this morning and then have coffee and cake no doubt at the cafe there.

It is the one which has excellent fish and chips. The cafe where Ginster and I have met doesn’t open on Monday and Tuesday.

Good to hear Oop that the NHS provided the service yesterday we need when ill and we should be able to get. Sadly some hope it seems in several parts of the country.

I hope all can enjoy some warmth and sun today.

A late good morning from Malta where it is due to reach 37°C today. A tad too warm for June but I love the cool early mornings and seeing blue skies and sunshine definitely lifts my mood.

The boys have kept me busy this morning (mostly reading to them) so I haven’t had a chance to read all the posts yet.

So glad Miss Oops has at last received the appropriate treatment. Hope she will feel stronger by the day.

Good morning all and it’s sunny here in essex, warmer today I hope.

We wandered around my db’s huge garden yesterday. It really is too much for them now but they do very well with the help of a gardener. It’s so beautiful, peaceful but off the beaten track. I don’t know how much longer they can stay there 😢.

Your afternoon at Old Leigh sounds lovely GG. Perhaps we could meet there next time for our catch-up with Sar.

Oops what a worrying time youve e had with MissOops. Hope she fully recovers now. Was it food poisoning?

Marydoll I know that feeling of clinging on to the edge of the bed. They’re all arms and legs aren’t they ☺️. I remember eldest gd holding my hand tightly until she slipped off to sleep. ❤️.
She was in A and E for 12 hours with chest pains and breathlessness, sick and dizzy. and eventually was sent home at 2am. Her ECG and bloods were ok but she has to have a heart monitor on for 2 weeks and was told to have that time off work. She’s only been there 3 months and is very anxious about it all.

Lots of stress and illness about at the moment. 🙏

Just found these posts lovely to hear everyone’s plans for day and recollections of weekend. Cold damp and dreich here in North of Scotland.

Good morning Mick and everyone from currently sunny Carlisle. I believe it's due to be the usual sun and showers today. The sky before 5am was a peculiar blood red, reflecting off the light cloud, shepherd's warning....Yesterday ended badly weatherwise, it poured with rain from late afternoon onwards.

I went out briefly into the garden in the afternoon to put more shredded bark down and to put in more support for my peas, which are doing rather well, unlike the runner beans.
Today I'll do the laundry and continue with my list of little jobs which I actually got started on yesterday. Then there's quite a bit of online admin to do.

Glad to see MissOops is on the mend after a scary time.
Something similar once happened to an acquaintance whilst we were on a trekking holiday....got to looking as though he was at death's door but after a few hours on a drip, miraculously restored to perky good health! It was bacterial dysentery caught from drinking bad water.

Not so good for your daughter Gingster she really does go through the mill, I wish her well.
Lunch at my daughters yesterday was delightful with the grandchildren and MrJ was spoilt.

Gardener back from his hols today so the garden will profit greatly from his attentions. The new roses are doing well so he will be pleased that his selection was right, and we can plan what to do with another bit of border.

Hope the various poorly posters improve as the day wears on and that we can dodge the showers, though the forecast for today is the best this week.

Good morning everyone it’s a cracking sunny day here on the east coast of Fife. I’m a little later in wakening up today I guess it’s from all my gallivanting with my new carer and his wife.they are just so kind and they’re taking me out today again.
I’m off to drop a present into my great niece as it’ll soon be her birthday,followed by a trip to a nearby coffee shop where I’ll indulge in a coffee and a cake.

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Ibiza. Last full day here and will spend it on the beach after posting my postcards (an old fashioned thing I still like to do)

I foolishly strained my back clambering into a taxi awkwardly but it’s improving. We had a day and night in old Ibiza town not far away and very interesting for people watching.
The chef has changed in this hotel and if we return as a family, will go for bed and breakfast as the evening meal is not what it was.

I was saddened to hear yesterday of the death of an old music colleague friend. She was an excellent pianist and had played for me many times at home and abroad. That’s two friends who have died in the last few weeks…

A visit to the bank first thing then DH has his diabetic eye check up. I will be the designated driver.

Roseandlilac Snap! with the bird table. Mine is a great source of delight too. I have my sun lounger set up in the corner of the garden room (where it catches any afternoon sun) and I lie there watching the birds and their antics for hours on end - absolutely fascinating! I shall try to post a great photo I took of my Great Spotted Woodpecker - he's a handsome fellow. I haven't seen any gold finches here yet 🤞
Marydoll I hope you feel none the worse for your night with Dolly. And how's Mr MD today? I think we all need something more than the occasional glimpse of the sun to banish all the continuing winter ailments.
I'm still not fully recovered from the Workshop exhaustion! The second week after it, we had no hall for tai chi so we did our class on the beach on the Tuesday (in sunshine!) and Thursday's class was cancelled as the tide was unfavourable. That gave me some extra time to get the house, washing and ironing done before a very quick trip down to Lincoln to see DS2 and family. DD and her Man were up here for the Aberdeen Kilt Walk - she's doing all four this year for her charity - and travelling down on the Monday. They were then coming back up on the Thursday evening so that four of the Teens could go to the Taylor Swift Concert at Murrayfield (two cars required for that) - so I thumbed a lift. It was a lovely little respite, although as you no doubt can imagine the weather did not exactly scream 'flaming June!'. We visited the Bomber Command Memorial again for lunch and a wander round. It's such a poignant place.
Regarding the Taylor Swift Concert, I read that the stamping of the crowd during one piece registered as seismic activity! The Teens had a Ball!
And here endeth my saga. Back to regular tai chi classes, occasional outings with friends and visits from family. Not a bad little life really.
