Are you house proud?

One of our cleaners told me that we are among the most house proud of her clients. I was horrified!

To me being houseproud means liking everything pristine and tidy and isn't very welcoming.

I love my home and really hope people feel comfortable coming here.

Or have I misunderstood?

I’ve not been very well for a couple of months but have managed to keep up with the housework - or so I thought…

Got a message from DD this morning, ‘Mum, I have a day off on Wednesday so will come round and give your house a good blitz!’ 😐😮

It’s only a two bedroom bungalow and I thought It was pretty clean and tidy. 🤔

Bless her cotton socks! ❤️😮

Wow! Hell would freeze over before my DDS would offer to do that.Sit back and enjoy her helping you out.😃

Hell would freeze over before my DM would even consider the offer, so I have learnt never to make it. She would immediately take it as a criticism of her housekeeping rather than sympathy for the fact that she was temporarily unable to do too much.

Merlotgran It says as much about you as it does about your DD that she is able to make the offer and you are able to accept with grace. (Even if slightly peeved 😉)

pascal30 I notice them.

I don't do a lot at home - but can definitely "dress" a home.

Yes. I like everything clean and tidied and in its correct home. I am proud of my home and how I keep it.

My house is as clean as is necessary.

My mother in law was that way inclined. She told me a neighbour had 5 children, ‘but you wouldn’t know there was a child in the house.’
I said, ‘How awful! Those poor kids!’

Not wishing to be rude but 'one of our cleaners'??? I have a cleaner who comes once a week and I do bits in between. I like the house to look nice (or the bits visitors see anyway!) but wouldn't call myself houseproud

We have 2 cleaners who work together for an hour, upstairs one week, down the next. So, we get 2 hours per week.

I do nothing between their visits.

No! Life’s too short!

My house must be dirtier than yours kitty as I have 2 cleaners for 1 and a half hours a week.😉
I do very little in between unless I have the dog.

What a lovely DD you have Merlot. Mine wouldn’t dream of doing that but she might send her cleaner round!

We had a very stressful move and I had to retire to bed with a migraine. I surfaced to find my daughter had put everything away in the kitchen and even screwed the under counter bin in place. I never moved a thing.

Gosh, you must be a very tidy, careful person! If someone were to clean my house, within a day (an afternoon, even), there would be crumbs on the floor, worktops to clean, windowsills to wipe, etc……
