I love the UK.

I have travelled a lot and lived in many other countries but I think Wester Ross is the most wonderful place I have ever lived. You can see some stunning images of that area here:

We are indeed incredibly fortunate to live in the UK. From the north of Scotland down to Cornwall we have a wealth of diverse country side - beautiful!

I too think we have a beautiful country. Lots and lots of green spaces and lots of national parks and some amazing beaches.

People, in my opinion, don’t hate the geography of the UK, just the economic and political situations, which actually prevents a substantial amount of people enjoying it all to the full.

I agree. The Lake District is wonderful. I believe the view of Lake Windermere from above has been voted the best in the UK.

We love Northumberland, The Broads, Devon, Cornwall, Yorkshire, Stratford - too many to mention. A few years ago we went to Filey. It was beautiful. Last week we stayed nearer home and went to Tewkesbury, also visited lovely Upton Upon Severn, The Cotswolds.

After many years of going abroad, we too have now decided on short UK breaks.

I also love my lovely Birmingham where I live.

I absolutely agree. My late OH and I used to return from every holiday in Europe and say "Isn't it beautiful here!" The green everywhere was the most obvious.

Add in that we did not, and I do not, use aeroplanes and the UK becomes the place to be!

I am on the border with South Wales and there are endless beautiful places nearby: canals, hills, woods. And slightly further afield are the Malverns, the Cotswolds, the Forest of Dean, the Wye Valley. And then there is the rest of the UK .......... and so many coastal gems.

Too true Annsixty - I remember you telling me about your static van at Rhyd y foel which isn’t far from me here near Conwy.

At the moment we’re still enjoying going abroad on different holidays with breaks in 🇬🇧 where we can but there will come a time when foreign climes won’t be possible and we’re hoping then to do longer stays in parts we haven’t yet explored in England Ireland and Scotland.

We've just booked for a classical music festival in churches on the Romsey Marshes.. staying near Dungeness.. such a haunting landscape.. I agree we have an extraordinary range of landscapes..

We also took (mobile) caravan holidays. My late husband used to plan these meticulously and we had fun trying g to keep to his "timetables". Now when I read articles and books I often come across places that were on our itinerary and am constantly surprised that we saw so much of the UK. As Ann60 says, it really is a beautiful country.

My D and GD have just spent 5 days in the New Forest, it was lovely she said.
They took an early ferry to the Isle of White and had a super day exploring there.

We are very lucky to live in such a beautiful country with diverse landscapes and, dare I say, a temperate climate. I love living in north Norfolk.

My parents did the same after earlyish retirement and enjoyed it so much. DH and I didn't and now regret that so much as it really is too late for him with his v poor health.
Yes a beautiful country. If I were advising a younger me, I would say get out there and enjoy every day.

We have agreed to do short breaks in this country rather than going to fqr flung places. Off to the Broads soon.

We are lucky enough to live in Leicestershire and to be able to drive through Charnwood Forest on lots of journeys.
