Just this morning I saw iron plate cleaner in my Handicentre. They sell everything including things you have never thought of.

Thanks everyone. Going for the Amazon stuff.

I would be happy to use my ceramic hob cooker top razor/scraper. Been using for many years, it scrapes every tiny thing off and never a mark, brilliant tool!

You need hot iron sticky stuff remover from
Amazon: the eighth wonder of the world.

You could also try a wet dishwasher tablet (not the soft ones grin). Warm the iron a bit, wet the tablet and just rub it across the iron. The wipe with clean damp cloth.

Very fiddly but warm the ion up hold a paracetamol tablet with tongs and rub the stain I have found this to work very well

My stainless steel steam iron is unuseable unless I can clean off the plastic from a t-shirt logo Iaccidentally ironed at full heat. I used to buy a thing called IronClean but there is nothing like this in the supermarket. What do I do? All ideas welcome. I don't want to scratch it as it is fairly new.
