Good morning from an overcast Bristol. The rest of the day will be the same, just with higher temperatures. I doubt we’ll reach the high 20s.

Mick, I think the avoidance of football is the same for many of us.

I had a quiet day yesterday; today will be much the same - usual weekend. I’ve nearly finished the quilt I’m making, so may well sit out and do the hand sewing in the shade.

I hope everyone had a good weekend; those watching sport enjoying it; those with their making the most of it; those resting benefitting from their “piece of quiet”. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Yesterday was another fine day so we had a good few hours to relax in the garden. It's so peaceful with only birdsong, which is a joy (no seagulls!) or the occasional traffic noise to interrupt the tranquility, including agricultural vehicles. The tits in the photo are regular visitors to the feeding station.

In the morning we visited a little local produce market and the nearby Intermarché where a complete refurbishment has left it well stocked and altogether more appealing. It's noticeable how much pride people have in their local amenities, particularly the upkeep of roads, verges, municipal flowerbeds, etc, even in the smallest communes. I couldn't live here all the time but I do feel we have lost our sense of community spirit in parts of the UK.

Breakfast in the garden this morning - no doubt and lunch and supper.🌞🌞🌞

Enjoying the tennis on television - I dip in and out, as I hate sitting for ages - Eastbourne next week. DH a big sports fan is in his element, in fact there isn’t enough hours in the day to watch everything he likes, and soon the olympics will be starting - I guess after Wimbledon? DS is cycling (well that was the plan last mentioned) to Paris to see the opening ceremony and some events, and then is booked to see some of the finals.

I am enjoying the peace of the garden.

Nothing planned today - we tend to leave the weekend for the workers to enjoy.

Good morning from a misty Cornwall, with the heat on the rise. My neck fan will work hard today. The National Express coach has just gone past my window on its way to London, probably laden with students as the Uni has broken up for the summer.

A day of pottering in the wood above my patio, to clear fallen twigs from the rudimentary path I've created, then this evening I'm at the cinema around the corner with my daughter-in-law and grandson to watch an animation. Last bit of socialising before I hunker down for the week.

The pond needs sorting out today, the plants are overgrown and the pump isn’t working properly.
DH will walk the dog while I do it.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and the sun is peeping out from behind clouds. Mick I'm glad you are better. Yesterday I got all the housework done and did a food shop at Aldi. In the afternoon I visited mum who was chatty but her dementia was quite obvious. I don't think she knew who I was.
Today I'm having a quiet morning then heading to Stirling for a garden party in my art tutor's garden. I'm looking forward to it. Trout fillet and salad for dinner later. Have a good day.

Good morning Michael and all GNs. Glad to hear you’re feeling better Mick. The sun is breaking through light cloud here in South Yorkshire and it’s going to be another warm one. I had an impromptu invitation to join a few of my neighbours in one of their gardens for a drink last night. It was very pleasant sitting outside and chatting. DD, SiL and GS are coming for curry later today. I made a chicken curry yesterday but will make a vegetarian one today for DD. Brownies and ice cream will have to do for pudding.

Good morning everyone from Severnside. It’s overcast here.

I gave my garden chairs a coat of Shades yesterday so today I’ll carry on and do the outside dining chairs with teak oil. Also change and wash bedding.

My pond pump isn’t working properly either Roses. I cleaned the filter but I think I need to do the impeller as well. While I’m on my knees I might as well empty the pond and clean it out before refilling. I also want to revamp around it. It used to look so much better years ago.

As I was reading your home description Ash I was wondering if you could live there as it sounds so lovely.

Good morning all and the weather is lovely. Not too hot , just a beautiful summers morning.

We have some family coming today , just 8 /10 of us, so we will be able to sit around the table for lunch. Much nicer than the usual ‘ melee ‘ .🤣.

The tennis at Queens has been exciting with so many up and coming brilliant players. Poor ‘old’ Andy!
Another one here avoiding the footie. Dh watches mostly every match! , but that’s ok , keeps him occupied. He pops in to watch a bit of the tennis with me and gives his advice to the players 🙄.

Good morning from a sunny warm Cambridgeshire. Yesterday we went sofa shopping with DD2, pottered in the garden and had a planned phone chat catch-up with two old friends. Today we have no plans except to relax and enjoy the garden.

My daughter and the grandchildren are calling in later to discuss a Thorpe Park trip, a post GCSE and SATS treat, they’ll be staying there one night.

We had a lovely day yesterday after visiting Northallerton it was a treat to Betty’s tea room lovely but quite pricey. Glad to hear your doing well mick. Love to all.

Good morning from Malta where it is going to be slightly cooler at 30°C.

Last night’s long babysitting session went well. The boys are very good about going to bed and littlest one gives me a little wave and says ‘Bye Nana’ as he snuggles down.😍
I didn’t get home until 3.30am so I expect I shall fall asleep watching the tennis later!

I’ve also been enjoying watching Queens as well as Halle in Germany. The finals today should be entertaining.

Mass this morning, usual chat with my pal in Leicester as well as a call to my brother in law later. My sister (his wife) died eighteen years ago but we still keep in touch.

Mizuna I was given a neck fan by a friend but I find it gives me terrible headaches so can’t use it, unfortunately.

Good morning from a sunny Oxfordshire.

We spent most of Friday night and Saturday L until late morning in A&E at the JR, excellent NHS staff yet again and we can’t fault the treatment and kindness of the staff.
MissOops not doing so well at the moment, had a bucket load of tests and CT scan, with x rays as well, and as many antiemetic doses as they were allowed to give her, concluded that it’s a virus, so no treatment available apart from the odd trip to hospital to combat dehydration. It’s not ideal but at least we know that there is no underlying cause.
We came home and caught up on our sleep, not sure how long the drugs will last, but hope that she gets some relief from the constant retching and vomiting, when we asked what she was bringing up they told us it was her stomach lining!!

Anyway, we are home and that in itself helps.

Good morning from another lovely sunny Suffolk where those camping at the festival in Lowestoft should have a glorious day after yesterday’s unexpected occasional heavy showers.

I’ll join DH on the dog walk later,the first I’ve been free to do for a few days because of other morning commitments. Later I’m taking my friend to visit her DH in hospital and another friend will collect her as there are no buses for that journey from hers on Sunday.

Otherwise a quiet day in the garden in a shady spot with yesterday’s newspapers I think.

Sorry to hear your poor Dd is still unwell, Oops . So awful when there’s nothing you can do to help.

I am sorry to hear about you feeling down, Mick, it is understandible when you worry about your health.

After a night of night terrors, feeling really rather strange, (those blooming injections) and a full on day yesterday, I plan to do very little. I am rather weary! A few perennials are awaiting planting and I plan to just potter about the garden.

We had an unexpected visit from DS2 and darling Babydoll yesterday. DIL was out with her sister and DS asked if he could spend the day with us.
I didn't bring anything for her lunch, he said. I know you will have a freezer full of lunches for baby. He was of course correct! I like to play the earth mother role.
She devoured her Scotch broth in no time. She will eat anything!

My lovely day was complete by seeing Dollie at the Vigil Mass. Her steroids are doing their worst and affecting her usual, sunny personality.
I don't envy her parents, they have an early flight to Portugal tomorrow morning and will be in her company for ten days and no gran to take her off their hands for respite! 😉

Good morning from an overcast NE where it is 17 degrees.
Yesterday was a pleasant day and I had two short spells in the garden.
GD1 had her shift at the hotel cancelled so she said she would visit with her sister and dad. When they arrived she had dreadful hay fever and spent the rest of the day with a large box of tissues.
Today will be very quiet, just me and my book, definitely no football.
Thoughts are with poorly people and their carers.
