Good Morning Everyone ,
Have woken to blue sky's on what will become a hot day here in brackley this morning.
Today , the usual bus journey meet up with people i know and hopefully find some cooler spots as well/
I only hope the weather breaks as I find it hard with my condition.
Take Care,
Mick

Ashcombe Wed 26-Jun-24 05:56:16

Good morning, all, from a bright and sunny Sarthe.

Do take care, Mick, if the heat doesn’t suit you. I expect you are out early before the temperature reaches its highest peak. I hope MissOops is feeling better today; it must be so exhausting, especially with the heat.

Thank you for several lovely comments yesterday about the photos of DH’s house and garden. “The best of both worlds..” is very true, Gingster!

Early start planned to hit Lidl before it's too hot.

Keep cool, if you can. Happy hump day! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Jaxjacky Wed 26-Jun-24 05:56:44

Good morning Mick it should be cooler tomorrow, so hopefully better for you.
I couldn’t get back to sleep after waking earlier, another warm day here down south.
Yesterday jobs were done early, watering late, MrJ and I had a bbq and it will be repeated tonight.
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 were disappointing.
I hope MissOops continues to improve along with others who are poorly.
Enjoy your trips out and meet ups today.

Good morning Mick, morning all from overcast South Lanarkshire.

No sunshine here yesterday, warm but quite oppressive, I expected thunder which didn’t happen.

Packing for our holiday is top of my list today, everything but the kitchen sink probably, and we will have a child or two in our car.

Have the best possible day everyone.

grandMattie Wed 26-Jun-24 06:01:00

Good morning from a misty Tideswell. This was the view from the kitchen last night.

We had a good journey, although we got “lost” twice, once on the way to .Tewkesbury, the other getting to a service station 🤨

Tewkesbury is gorgeous, the abbey most interesting. Th3 town was adorned with the heraldic flags of the knights who fought in the eponymous battle in 1471, I think. Lovely place.

We then drove to Tideswell in the murderous (for me) temperature of 29+C, and DS refuses to use the air-con…. I did persuade him to haven’t on for a few minutes after the car had satin the sun!

We had a lovely little walk in the village, which was also full of decorations, discovering that it is carnival week here and is full to the brim! Lovely pub dinner, back for DS to watch the lacklustre England game.

Today we shall probably go to Ladybower reservoir and/or Peverell castle. Chatsworth is out as it requires a king’s ransom as entry fee. We are not sufficiently interested to pay that much.

DS fancies visiting Bakewell for a tart. I’m happy to do what he wants.

Enjoy today, one and all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, another very hot day forecast, but the weather is due to break tomorrow.

Cut the front grass first thing yesterday before it got too hot, then took the rest of the morning easy. I managed to get out to the walking group yesterday afternoon, but we chose to do a much shorter route, and retired early to the sports centre for our most welcome drinks.
Sat in the garden shade when I got back and read more of my book.

Nothing really planned.for today; shall try and stay cool.

Happy holidays again!

karmalady Wed 26-Jun-24 06:38:13

Good morning from s somerset, hot but not too hot today

I generally live in a cave during this weather and managed to remain comfortable all day yesterday, hoping to do similar today. My sensible hat is well and truly on. I did potter all day yesterday, watering the essentials early and late also berry picking when the sun was not intense

I am expecting some essential vac storage later today. I will complete the airing cupboard renewal if the bags arrive. A tip trip for 9am with lots of rosemary prunings, any excuse to `test` the new tyres on my car, I had four new 4 season tyres yesterday. I had similar on my land rover when I lived in s wales, they always felt so safe for driving on some bleak roads

Have a good day

brook2704 Wed 26-Jun-24 06:42:24

Good morning everyone from Inverness, we’ve light grey cloud and a forecast of 20° here today, our heatwave is definitely over for now!
Sounds like a lovely holiday gMattie lots of interesting places to visit
A busy day ahead, I’ve a volunteering session this morning then out for lunch with all the volunteers as a thank you. This evening we’ve tickets to see DGD in her musical theatre show at Eden Court, so I’m hoping DH feels well enough to attend.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

RosesandLilac Wed 26-Jun-24 06:42:51

Good morning from a bright and already warm south Glos where it’s going to be another hot day.
I had my hearing aid review yesterday and, as I suspected, my hearing has deteriorated considerably. I decided to upgrade my hearing aids so a return visit to town in a couple of weeks.
I bought some much reduced plants in B&Q, including two patio roses and got the car washed on the way home.
Today a dog walk in a minute then housework ☹️
Stay safe in the heat everyone 🌹

Bellasnana Wed 26-Jun-24 06:50:12

Good morning from Malta. It’s about 33°C today.

With the boys as usual. This is my last full week of caring for them as DD3 breaks up for summer holidays.

Later I have someone coming to put film on my front patio doors, supposed to help keep the sun and nosey passers by out!

Wishing you all a good day. ☀️

Greyduster Wed 26-Jun-24 06:52:22

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a - dare I say it - chilly South Yorkshire at the moment. The sun is due out later. Everyone was complaining about the heat at school yesterday; even the children were wilting! Writers group for me this afternoon and then I must get the front lawn cut. GrandMattie say hello to Ladybower for me; it’s my special place. If you drive up to the Derwent arm, there’s a museum on the dam wall to the Dambusters who did their training runs there, and views of Derwent reservoir.
Have the best day you can folks.

monk08 Wed 26-Jun-24 07:02:52

Good morning all from the Black country where it is overcast and muggy.
DH has arranged for a day out on the Severn valley railway today, with a visit to Arley arboretum.
Hope MissOops is improving.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans, safe travels those on the move ☀️.

Georgesgran Wed 26-Jun-24 07:11:53

Good morning from Durham. A disappointingly cloudy day yesterday, but today, I hope the sun might make an appearance, but only 21 degrees.
I was out of the house 14 hours yesterday, haven’t slept well and feel like a washed out rag!
However, I’ve a friend coming for coffee this morning, then a quiet afternoon.
Hoping our poorlies continue to improve.
Best wishes to all. X

Sar53 Wed 26-Jun-24 07:13:55

Good morning from a beautiful bright and sunny day on the Essex coast.
My visit to ENT yesterday turned out OK. I had a camera put down my throat and my vocal cords are inflamed but probably caused by reflux, nothing sinister.
We are back to the hospital this morning. DH is having a stent inserted in a vein in his leg. A day case so I will pick him up later. It's all hospital and doctor visits at the moment.
Enjoy your day everyone xx

luluaugust Wed 26-Jun-24 07:20:39

Good morning from a sunny W Kent, I see it is 23 degrees in the house so far. Off to visit DF for tea this morning, we need a catch up not sure whether to walk or not as I shall be coming home around midday. Quiet afternoon in the garden.
Best wishes to all

Bonnybanko Wed 26-Jun-24 07:23:36

Good morning from an overcast part of the east coast of Fife, looking out at my ring doorbell it’s been raining, however I’ve my trusty fan on the go in my bedroom because my hive is reading 19.4, luckily I’ve a Currys tall remote fan on in my bedroom because it’s hot hot hot

I’m getting my hair tinted today by my lovely hairdresser who comes to the house and I’ll be cooking chicken and pineapple which I’ll have with garlic bread toasted in the airfryer with my new carer who will be asked to grout my bathroom tiles. I’ve bought several grout pens from Amazon which work fantastically.

Have a good day everyone and keep safe 💐💐

Gingster Wed 26-Jun-24 07:24:18

Good morning and another hot one for Essex.
I won’t walk up to church or go to the market today as it’s uphill and a killer at the best of times. Dh is going fishing so will have our one and only car. I have it most days so I can’t complain! 😡🤣.

I think Dd has Covid ! Very poorly and in bed. Her immunity is shot so she picks up anything going and Covid is definitely going round here at the moment.

Today I’ll catchup with books, tv and potter around as I feel like it. This heat doesn’t agree with me. I’ll pick up little DGD and bring her back here for tea.

I hope Missoops is on the ‘up’ and getting better every day 🙏.

Brook enjoy your dgd’s concert. I hope your Dh is feeling up to going along.🤞.

Enjoy the holiday with your ‘boy’ GM. Special times ❤️

Take care today 🌸

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 26-Jun-24 07:27:02

Good morning from a lovely sunny Oxfordshire.

MissOops had a nurse from the outreach team yesterday to give her fluids and report back to the Consultant at the JR, yesterday evening she stopped vomiting and slept from 2am, she’s still asleep now, let’s hope this is the day when it all stops. The nurse will be back sometime today to check fluid levels.

MrOops has to go to hospital today for some tests, The Nephew will take him and wait to bring him back, not sure how that will work out, but I can’t be in 2 places at once, so I’m sure he will be fine.

I hope to cut the lawn today, I also plan to drag one of the garden benches close to MissOops patio door and give it a coat of preservative ready for next winter, I can keep an ear open for her and it will be something quiet to do if she is sleeping.

Shopping delivery this and that’s my day.

Lovely to see holiday photos, safe travels to those on the move.

Have a good day everyone, hugs for those who are unwell.

kittylester Wed 26-Jun-24 07:38:46

Good morning all from a misty Norfolk Broads. I think it's going to be another hot one.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 26-Jun-24 07:45:38

Good morning from another lovely summers day on the South Downs.

Must keep the bird bath well filled. The starlings use it more than any other bird. They drink a lot. I have to wash it out every morning because where they bath the water gets filthy. The pigeons never ever seem to drink, but every other bird will drop down for a sip of water and bath.

I try to plant for bees, pollinators and butterflies, so I have a lot of blue flowers, spiky ones like lavender, nepeta and salvias also sort of landing pads like echinacea etc, but I do plant other stuff that I like - so salvia hot lips bright red and white, is a shrubby plant that loves the gravel poor soil type of area, but surprisingly the bees love it and crowd in - I thought that they are attracted to the blue end of the spectrum, but I reckon hot lips gives out a large amount of ultra violet light.

I notice the leaf cutter bees have been busy, they always go in particular for one rose “Claire Austin” I guess that they are nesting in the wood pile I make for beetles but not sure. Neat little circles of cut out leaf🙂.

Well that’s me done, I shall get up and water, plus plant out an astrantia that is looking pot bound - poor thing - sat there too long after I split its parent last autumn!

I shall spend most of the day relaxing enjoying the divine weather.

Enjoys yours as well all.

gm is there any well dressing going on? Enjoy your break - sounds my sort of holiday.

Peace and harmony to the world.

Gala Wed 26-Jun-24 07:51:44

Good morning from sunny Sefton where it is very still with a hazy sky. Looks like it's going to be another hot one. Unfortunately today is our busy day with lots of dashing hither & thither. The heat doesn't suit me, I heat up very quickly even with minimum movement. Still getting hot flushes!🥵 I do love to see the sunshine so enjoy it while it lasts those of you who love the heat & can handle it.

Liberty Wed 26-Jun-24 07:54:04

Good morning from an as yet cloudy Suffolk where the sun is forecast to show its face shortly.

It’s my keep fit class this morning which I hope will be a gentle one. The village hall where we meet has lots of windows down one side where the sun doesn’t reach until later so we should be quite cool.

Apart from that nothing else planned but I shall tackle the pile of ironing if it isn’t too hot this afternoon. I decided yesterday to dig out more summer clothes so the ironing pile has increased substantially. I’d forgotten just how many tops and t shirts I had…..and sandals! 4 pairs I had totally forgotten I had.

I keep telling myself I have no need to buy any more clothes or shoes….will L keep to that?

Hope today is a positive one for all.

GrannyIvy Wed 26-Jun-24 07:57:27

Good morning from a warm Cambridgeshire. It certainly was a warm night thank goodness for our ceiling fan!

Today I am meeting two friends for lunch out and DH has given me the job of replacing our patio calor gas cylinder on my way home.

GM enjoy Ladybower reservoir, we stay in Buxton regularly and enjoy cycling around the Derwent and Howden reservoirs. Always a trip to Bakewell too for a Bakewell tart!

Hope those under the weather feel better and wishing a happy day to all 💐

Grandmabatty Wed 26-Jun-24 07:58:22

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and cloudy again. It doesn't feel quite as muggy as yesterday. Yesterday dgs2 and I ventured to the big park, as he calls it. I have added a photo of him high up. My heart was in my mouth every time he climbed up to go down the big slide. Of course, he did it half a dozen times before I could distract him with an ice cream cone. We visited the ducks too so he was very happy. I used to do this with dgs1 but dgs2 never seemed keen. All is changed. Dgs1 was a monkey after nursery. He ran on while I was trying to corral dgs2 and disappeared. Despite calling for him, he was nowhere to be seen. I was on the verge of panic when one of his friend's mum said he was in her car. The monkey had jumped in with him. Needless to say, grandma was both relieved and cross at the same time.
Today I'm visiting another care home for mum. This one is in the same village as me and wouldn't take long to get there by walking. I've phoned/contacted a few and will make a decision about my top three soon. Chicken risotto for dinner tonight. Have a good day all.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 26-Jun-24 08:02:16

Morning all from an already warm and muggy West Oxfordshire.

I am collecting a dress from the seamstress today. I bought it in a sale earlier this year. When I wore it for my birthday in April my heaving bosom was too much for it and I had to wear a brooch to close up the front! I took the dress to a seamstress I have used before and she said she could sew the front up a bit.

I have bits of admin to do - WI and personal stuff.

OH will go and visit his bees at some point. He moved the swarm he captured a few days ago and wants to see how they’re getting on.

We have booked a table at one of our favourite restaurants this evening for their Steak Night, I know it’s not very pc these days, but I do love a bit of barely cooked beef.

Have a good day, especially those with difficulties. I’m thinking of Urms and trust all is well.
