Would I Lie to You? What’s your favourite!?

This has got to be one of my favourite programmes on TV. I particularly like the episodes featuring David Mitchell and Bob Mortimer. Watching David trying to apply logic to what comes out of Bob Mortimer’s mouth is hilarious. David becomes increasingly exasperated with Bob’s tales (basically he is as mad as a box of frogs) especially as the most ludicrous tales are often true!

What do you like and why?

I enjoy David Mitchell and Lee Mack's performances, and watching the panellists collapse in helpless giggles as the 'stories' progress. Half an hour of joyous silliness.

Bob Mortimer's stories are hilarious, and as you say, usually true!

Jo Brand has had some funny ones too

Brilliant programme this. I like the two captains, David and Lee. Bob Mortimore is always so funny too.
Lots more series, please.

I would like to see a panel where Bob Mortimer and Lucy Beaumont team up with Lee Mack.
I think David’s reactions to their stories would be very watchable. 😂

There are not many programmes which make me laugh out loud when alone, but this is one of them, along with I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue on the radio. I love Bob's stories, as they are often true. I am getting a bit tired of Lee's far fetched tales which are always lies, but I do like his quick wit. David is not afraid to reveal some of his own quirks and is happy to laugh at himself.

Love this programme and wish it was hour long. Bob Mortimer is so funny, what a character.
Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing is great too. Enjoyed his autobiography, he's one of very few celebrities I admire.

I love this programme! It is witty and hilarious, a combination that is missing from so many so-called comedy show. David Mitchell, Lee Mack and Bob Mortimer are my favourites.

I love the programne and the participants- often find someone funny who I never knew. But for me, without Rob Brydon it wouldn't be nearly as good!"

Lee Mack left the programme sometime ago. He moved on to do the 1% programme.

Hope that’s not true. I read somewhere that he was having a year off before recommencing filming.

Yes, love the programme

I can only echo your sentiments, Mamma66. It is by far and away the funniest programme on TV.

Callistemon213 Wed 26-Jun-24 16:54:17

It is very funny, even better when Bob Mortimer is a guest.

I really enjoy Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse 'Gone Fishing' too, such a lovely, soothing programme with some funny repartee.

David and Bob Mortimer are a hilarious combination. I can't stand Lee Mack. He always has to make everything about himself.

If Lee doesn’t return perhaps Bob will take over.

Loved Kevin Bridges story about buying a horse when he was on holiday and thought he was booking it for an hour.It was ridiculous and hilarious

I love the programme and often watch repeats better than some programmes on the tv now.

No he didn’t.

I was at the recording of one of the forthcoming episodes.
It was the funniest two and a half hours I have ever spent.
From the moment Rob Brydon walked out, taking the mickey out of himself, until Lee’s final expletive because he wanted to go home, they never stopped with the banter.
Stacey Solomon was the star of the show, and Lee said ‘ We haven’t had an episode like this in the last 17 years‘ because she was so witty.
I’ve no idea how they will ever reduce it to just 30 minutes.

We could hope for a one off special NotAGran.

Do you manage to remember who the friend belongs too ? 😀

NotAGran55 Wed 26-Jun-24 19:30:07

That would be brilliant Beechnut.I would love to see it all again, and share the experience, as the time went in a flash.
Hopefully some of it will appear in an out-take special one day.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I love the programme but Lee Mack is so mouthy. He interrupts other contestants' jokes and even shouts them down in his determination to be centre stage. I've often muttered "oh do shut up" at him.

MayBee70 Wed 26-Jun-24 20:25:10

When is it on?

Mamma66 Thu 27-Jun-24 05:50:08

I shall have to look out for the episode with Stacey Solomon , I rather like her.
