Good morning, a lovely bright sunny morning here in south Glos.
It’s good that you’re being well monitored Mick, I hope that the new medication does the trick.
I have a radical new hair style, a pixie cut, and I had more compliments about it yesterday than I’ve ever had before after a visit to the hairdresser! Needless to say DH didn’t notice, or if he did then he doesn’t like it🙄
I potted up my planters yesterday and generally pootled around doing bits and pieces.
Today more gardening, now it’s cooler weather I can enjoy the garden more. I have ironing to do first and I need to pop to the post office sometime.

Blueberry picking has started, I have six large plants in big pots edging my patio and they provide me with daily berries for almost a whole year. It is easy and gentle to do, twice a day every day and they finish ripening in bowls in the dark. They are ready to freeze in just 2 days after picking. Picking carries on for the whole of july

I am out on my bike later, traffic will be back to normal

Good morning from a chilly, grey Tideswell. What a change in the weather. I am unprepared and not sure what I’ll wear to keep warm enough - a 10C fall in temperatures! Add a strong cold wind…

We went up to Peveril castle yesterday morning; some climb but really worth it. It was the first and most northerly stronghold of William I. The views were gorgeous.

Then DS decided to visit Chatsworth, hang the cost. We visited the inside of the house; it took us over two hours. We were gratified to find how knowledgeable and enthusiastic the attendants/guides were when we asked questions. There was a lot of BlueJohn on display, much of it neither blue nor “jaune”.

The gardens that I visited were rather disappointing, but DS went off on his own leaving me to recover on a seat, and came back full of the wonders of what he saw. We did have a lovely day.

Last visits today, on our way home. Possibly Buxton, or Hay, not sure. I think it’ll depend on whether it rains.

DD and family are off to Glastonbury this morning, so I won’t see them when we get home. DS is in charge of the rabbits.

Good morning everyone from a cloudy and overcast Northampton, a real change in the weather.

I'm a lot earlier this morning as a plumber is coming first thing to fix the bathroom loo, and reseal the en-suite shower. Only phoned him yesterday and was so pleased when he said he would come today!

Then my gardener is coming later for (hopefully) weed removal and cutting back of overgrown shrubs etc. It's been three months since he last came, so there is a lot to be done.

I shall just take the day as it comes and catch up on a few jobs indoors.

Good morning from the welcome “coolth” of La Sarthe, resulting in a more restful night for us both and a later start than usual!

A quiet day yesterday as I had my second migraine in three days. No reason for it but it’s frustrating as fellow sufferers will know.

Looking forward to a chat with DD2 as she drives to work shortly.

Safe travels to the holidaymakers and thoughts with those who are unwell, especially Mizuna facing surgery today.

Good morning all from the east coast of Fife where it’s dull and windy.
However yesterday I had the bestest day in a long while, the weather was very kind to me when I went on the train from my local station to Edinburgh to see the musical Grease,
thanks to Jenny Gilruth MSP 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿who along with many others were instrumental in getting this local rail link up and running

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a cloudy but cooler South Yorkshire where we are expecting a little rain at some point. Yesterday was too hot, both in the out of the house and the wind was blowing hard all day. It seems slightly calmer today. That’s some climb up to Peveril, Mattie. Respect! DD, GS and I are having a day at Chatsworth today but just for the gardens, having seen the house a few times over the years. We always used to take visitors there.

Good morning from a cloudy and cooler Black Country.

Busy day yesterday. Driving all over the place, picking up DGD then I took her for lunch, then to her shift at a pub. Then took her sister to school for the play. Then DD came home from school on the bus as she cannot drive yet. So we went to the local village pub for a meal.

Picked up DGD at 9pm, then she came home with me to stay over. She has a taster day at our local Sixth Form college. So I will walk with her this morning to show her the way.

Tonight we are off to a 50th birthday party. DIL is 50 next week! MrJ has booked us a hotel near venue, as it would be almost an hours drive back at midnight.

Then tomorrow afternoon off to see DGD4 in her school play.

Good morning all from Suffolk.
Last day here and we are having a morning in Lavenham before visiting the NT Ickworth estate to admire the Capability Brown gardens.
Yesterdays early coastal mist at Aldeburgh cleared very quickly and we had another glorious afternoon at the Red House and then the Munnings collection at Dedham with tea in the garden of course!
It’s been a lovely week with a lovely group of people, lively and interesting and I have been especially full of admiration for a few with very limited mobility - using a walker and sometimes wheelchair in the case of two - but who have not missed a single thing and struggled on cheerfully, putting me to shame.
Best of luck to Mizuna with the hospital procedure and to all with medical issues and warmest (yes it is still warm!) wishes to all for a pleasant day.

Well I passed the interview and now have a new cleaner, such a relief as I detest housework.

It’s a non-pupil day at the 9yr olds school so he will be here, not sure what he will want to do until we pick up his brother (The Imp) from pre-school (open as normal)

Was woken during the night by a noise that sounded like someone trying to break the door down. Nothing to see when I looked out of the window. Probably a wheelie bin blown over, but not mine because I forgot to put it out.

SIL came yesterday, we did shopping and had a little walk. We had dinner together and then he left early because DD was travelling to the UK after work on the Eurostar and then coming north from King's Cross.

Good morning Mick and everyone from cool -12°C!- and showery Carlisle. This is because I got my table and chair out of the garage again. In the event, we have had only one day of heatwave!
Yesterday I took the train across the Pennines in pleasant weather. The lambs that were shivering against their mothers earlier in the year are now grown up and their mums all shorn. I spotted a beautiful russet-coloured young deer racing over a field.
Today I might as well get on with the ironing which is mounting up, the vac needs running round and the kitchen needs a good wipe down....I seem to have been in holiday mode this week.

Yesterday the podiatrist sorted out a potential ingrowing toenail and I’ve got instructions to keep it away. Last night I watched groups of young people in their prom finery having pictures taken. Lots of high end cars, I’m glad it was dry for them.

Good morning from Durham, where it’s cool and very windy,
I’m going to a funeral today - DH’s cousin. They weren’t close as adults, but I’m sure he’d have gone, had he still been here. His DSis in Cheshire can’t make it, so it’s down to me. Only 30 miles away, but somewhere I’m not familiar with, so it’s an early start with satnav.
Gardener did a cracking job yesterday and other chaps fitted my new gas boiler without any problems - I shall need a sort out in the garage though - things moved haven’t been put back.
Unfortunately my DF rang me with a long tale about her DS2 and DinL - it will take time to resolve, but things are changed for ever now. DF was annoyed, upset and hurt. I was cross too.

DH and I had a couple of short walks yesterday, something he hasn't been able to do for some time, and no pain in his leg. Upwards and onwards.
Opticians for him late morning and quiz tonight.

Yesterday I watered the garden which proved superfluous as it poured later. I weeded too and got all the washing done apart from bedding. So a domestic day.
Today dd is going to pop in for a little while with dgs2. Then, this afternoon, I'm going to see another care home for mum. This one is a little further away but is in a beautiful old house in the centre of town. I've more or less made up my mind about which home to choose, but the social worker is asking for three. After that, a Tesco delivery. I'll do an ironing if I can be bothered. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Another morning of tea drinking and catching up with one of my oldest friends, we have been through so many ups and downs together. This afternoon on GS5 duty, he has had a good school report so he can tell us all about it.
