Good Morning Everyone,
Its a nice clear blue sky over brackley this morning.
Today , my usual plans of doing my social bit and going on bus to Bicester .
Things locally are gradually building up with the F1 british GP , down the road at Silverstone with its 4 day event .
Traffic wise the A43 is ceased to through traffic between M1 and M40 due to the event .
Having probs with my BBC digital channels picture break up due to poor signal , other channels OK on Freeview .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and all from a blustery northwest coast.
Yesterday I thought I had a cold coming on, as the young man who did my nails on Tuesday appeared to have a cold which he said was hayfever, so fingers crossed, it hasn’t developed.

Last night to first night of a local production which I didn’t enjoy, not sure if it was me rather under the weather taking antibiotics for the tooth, or the musical, which was extremely well done. I didn’t feel like socialising with friends and ex students I know there either, unlike me. The theatre was freezing. AC on and my long summer cotton skirt didn’t hack it. Summer!?

House stuff today and a vote.
Hope you get your tv sorted Mick, it’s frustrating for you and thoughts to all🌺

GrannySomerset Thu 04-Jul-24 09:26:19

Disturbed night and consequently have overslept but have no one but myself to please today so it doesn’t matter. Some washing, put petrol in car, vote, sort out some photographs and tennis to fit in, surely even I can manage that?

Poor Marydoll, her DH would try the patience of a saint - surely there is a special category of beatification for someone like her? He means well of course!

Georgesgran Thu 04-Jul-24 09:20:11

Good morning from a windy Durham, although it’s bright and sunny.
My friend who is having family problems has postponed our coffee today until tomorrow. She’s desperate to ge some things in place before her holidays. So, I’m going back to the local garden centre for some bits and bobs I saw there yesterday and didn’t get.
Chiropodist in the afternoon and walk Little Dog later - I might keep him overnight again.
Postal voted a while back.
💐gM and MD whose patience must be stretched, despite MrMD being a keeper!
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from County Mayo, where it’s cloudy but the sun is trying to break through.

Yesterday’s visit was to Galway. The imposing Cathedral was a highlight, the organist was practicing for the evening concert which would have been wonderful I’m sure.

It’ll be a quiet day today, I think a pootle around the town then a walk on one of the fabulous beaches. The two sportiest DGDs are talking about donning their wetsuits for swimming.

How annoying for you Marydoll, hope you manage to sort it all out.

Bellasnana, hope your DGS feels better soon, will that mean another couple of days at home for the boys?

A poignant day gMattie. flowers

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning from a cool and very windy NE, the heating is on again.
Sister and BIL took me shopping, only needed couple of things.
Today I need to start packing for my holiday but I am having difficulty deciding which clothes, the forecast is for rain nearly every day and not the temperature you would expect in July.
Thinking of grandMattie 💐

EkwaNimitee Thu 04-Jul-24 08:34:26

Good morning Mick and everyone from cool, grey and showery Carlisle. The heating has kicked in as it did last night too. It's been back to sweaters, gilets and warm nightwear!

Yesterday's visit to town for a dress was successful. I'd been eyeing up a particular one for weeks and decided it was time to try it on. Just in time...only one in my size left but I was lucky I didn't buy it sooner as it was now on sale with a good saving.
However, if the weather doesn't warm up, it will hang in my wardrobe for the indefinite future.
It was back to the ironing and then I hung a picture which has been sitting around for a mere six months waiting for me to decide where it would be best. The donor is visiting next week or it could have been another six months.

Today, I shall look at my to-do list and see if anything takes my fancy...or not. Or I could catch up with my lengthening reading pile. What I really want to do is to be outside, gardening or walking, there's still hope with this changeable weather.

Two years already grandMattie ! flowers.

And the best possible day to you all.

Taichinan Thu 04-Jul-24 08:26:37

Good morning all. Losing my post once was bad enough but twice!!*!
Have a good day everyone - I shall take my obviously dyslexic fingers elsewhere!

grandMattie Thu 04-Jul-24 08:17:46

Just received a photo from the DGDs. Iris is spending the day at secondary school. Doesn’t time fly?

Thank you for all your good wishes. Bittersweet day, it is…

MD, what a mess for you. I hope it isn’t too difficult and exhausting to sort out.

Bellasnana, anxiety postponed!

monk08 Thu 04-Jul-24 08:12:16

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Washing is on , and I shall mow the lawns later.

Good morning all it’s a glorious sunny , windy and going to be warm today on the east coast of Fife Bellasnana I can’t believe the boys are that age already they’re going to love the nursery.
I’m hoping to be able to sit in the conservatory looking out into the garden listening and watching the birds today. I’ll even have my breakfast of bacon and eggs there

Have a good day my friends my postal vote is away 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 may the best person win I just home it’s not Labour 🥲🥲🥲

Marydoll I'm surprised that your DH isn't under the patio! 😂 How frustrating for you. Cornergran I know you aren't posting but I hope you are reading. You are missed here and in the kitchen, as is Urmston.

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 04-Jul-24 07:59:49

Good morning from a sunny, windy and chilly Oxfordshire.

We did didn’t get to Northampton yesterday as MrOops wasn’t feeling too good, we were going to go today, but thanks to Mick and his warning about the A 43 we will shelve it until next week, you’ve saved us from a huge diversion Mick, so thank you.

GM 💐

MD💐

So, voting, then a spot of gardening as it rained yesterday, Wimbledon and a good book.

Have a good day everyone, hope all the poorlies get well soon.

aggie Thu 04-Jul-24 07:58:21

Good morning from a sunny but chilly feeling Suffolk. For reasons which I can’t remember,I registered for a postal vote before the last local elections so my vote went off a couple of weeks ago.

DH will go and cast his before we go out for a walk with the dog which we will probably start from the village hall which is the polling station.

I remember years ago going to election parties at the home of friends where we’d stay up all night watching the news on tv,and then going into work on the Friday! We’ll wait for the exit polls and then call it a night.

gMthinking of you and others with sadness in your hearts and those who are unwell.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 04-Jul-24 07:46:05

Morning all

Sending you a (((hug))) grandMattie

The sun is out but it’s a bit chilly 16°. The new cleaning ladies are here first thing. Then I have to vote, depending on how my knee feels/behaves I need to go to
M & S Food Hall as the fridge is empty.

Hope your DD feels better soon Gingster

Have a good day 🙋‍♀️

Stilllearning Thu 04-Jul-24 07:43:06

Morning from South Lanarkshire, cold but dry at the moment.
Good you have family around today grandMattie

This morning, chiropodist, voting, then into Glasgow to meet two former colleagues for lunch in Princes Square. They’re lovely people and I haven’t seen either of them for ages (years) so I’m looking forward to that very much.

And there’s the rain🥺. And the wind.

Wishing everyone the best day possible!

Marydoll Thu 04-Jul-24 07:39:57

Good morning all from a very wet Glasgow, it is only 9°C here. The heating has kicked in!!

GM. 💐

No clouding watching here, GM. We spent three hours cleaning out the church safe yesterday. Oh the treasures--and rubbish we found--.
Despite frequent breaks, I was exhausted.
Just as I was leaving to go to church, the mattress to replace the wrong size one, unexpectedly arrived with two pillows, which I had neither ordered, nor paid for. I suspect it was compensation for the mattress fiasco.
My last words to Mr MD were not to touch the mattress, I wasn't feeling too good and I couldn't face the palaver it would involve.
Did he listen, of course not! 😡

On arriving home, after being caught up in rush hour traffic and making a detour to the pharmacy (problems with my medication) I was tired, hungry and so looking forward to just sitting down for five minutes, before tackling dinner.
It was not to be.
I noticed the mattress box lying open in the garage, my heart sank. The door opened and DH said, Could you please come and help me, I have stripped the bed and put on the new mattress. 😤😭😭😭
The once tidy upstairs I had left when I went out, looked as if it had been ransacked.
The old mattress and the one waiting to be uplifted were DUMPED in the spare room and also I couldn't get into our bedroom to make up the bed.😡 Everything had been moved to get in the new mattress.
I know DH is trying his best and I should be grateful, but I am struggling so much, everything becomes a big deal, when I used to take everything in my stride.

Today we have Babydoll, so I need to get moving and make her blueberry pancakes for breakfast.
Because it is so wet, I have persuaded DH to go to Silverburn, (his idea of hell), where there is a man made beach, complete with sand and deckchairs. Proceeds go to charity. I hate sand, but I suspect, Baby will have a ball.
However, there may be a problem, DH fitted old Dollie's car seat back into his car for Babydoll, before tackling the mattress.. He was asked to wait until I checked what her weight is with DIL (she has taken a stretch). Did he? Of course not. Sigh.
We may be going nowhere.

Dollie is back from holiday today, so I need to get some shopping in for them too. Dollie sent a message asking if Frank (the only remaining goldfish) was O.K.
I am ashamed to say that I forgot to check.😱 I told a lie and said he was fine. I hope he is.

Have the best day you can folks.
I am now going to work out how to get my clothes from the spare room wardrobe, the mattresses are against the furniture! I couldn't face it last night. 😉

glammagran Thu 04-Jul-24 07:39:50

Good morning to you all.

Got back on Monday morning at 1am. After a few hours sleep there was unpacking and washing to do followed by school pickup. We were asked to go into the school as the children were showing their work to parents but DD2 had to go into her office in Bath and her fiancé was in a meeting at his workplace. DGD3 had recently visited SS Great Britain and was telling us all about Brunel. I thought it a slightly odd choice for Year 1. She is really good at numeracy. Her speech is completely clear and audible nowwhich wasn’t the case last year. Next day was the turn of her demonic brother but he was on the whole ok. He was ver tired so despite being told not to, we allowed him a nap after lunch.

Today is school sports day which will take place this morning. Then on Saturday DD1 is having her 50th birthday celebrations which seems scarcely believable.

I hope the twins have a susccessful first day at nursery Bellasnana. Will they be there very day?

GM thinking of you and your late DH today. 💐

Enjoy what I hope will be a sunnier day than yesterday.

Jaxjacky Thu 04-Jul-24 07:32:23

Morning, sun in S Hants, for now.,
A bittersweet day for you gMattie, enjoy your company this evening.
Yesterday was library, a long phone call from my sister, some online banking and evening watering, it’s so dry here.
Not sure about today, voting at some point, a walk and floor washing.

Good morning and it’s bright here in Essex.

I’m waiting to see if I have to take little gd to school. I hope not as I have a busy morning. Dog walk and then to groomers, bank appointment and bowls group if I can get there.

Eldest gd is still off work, 3rd week , with breathlessness, dizzy ness and palpitations. She’s still waiting results from the hospital, keeps leaving messages but no one gets back 😡. She has her graduation next week and hopes to be fit enough for it. 😢. I still think it’s the stress of the job (Mental Health Nurse).

GG I hope your knee is improving. 🤞.
GM 💐.
Bellasnanna poor little chap. I expect the excitement got to him.

I hope the day is as good as it can be for you all 🌸

I had a postal vote which went off long ago. DS and DIL are both on duty at their Polling Stations,DS is also doing the count, so very long day for him.

Best wishes.

NanKate Thu 04-Jul-24 07:20:02

Good morning Mick and All from a sunny South Bucks.

DH and I are in recovery mode from covid. I’m so glad we had the jab or we would have been in a serious way.

Will avoid all things to do with the Election with a bit of luck.

kittylester Thu 04-Jul-24 07:19:31

Good morning all from a bright but cloudy North Leicestershire.

This morning I am helping at our regular Memory Cafe in a new venue with new guests. We have a choir coming to welcome them.

This afternoon I have to go to the butcher's, vote and unpack a large Sainsbury's shop.

Have the best day possible, everyone.

brook2704 Thu 04-Jul-24 07:16:56

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry with some light grey cloud, rain is forecast for later
A difficult day gMattie but pleased your chaps are there with you. I hope they’ve enjoyed their time away together and have some interesting stories to tell you
DGS is here so hopefully I can talk him into a short walk this morning before dropping him home after lunch. This afternoon I’ve got a volunteering session and then home for a rest and tidy up
What a shame Bellasnanna hope the twins recover quickly
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
