If you like Bohemian clothes with an oriental twist, check out the following;

Then check out this;

Can you spot the difference? Isn't it wonderful what a good iron and presentation will do?
I have bought two items from NFYM and I am delighted with them (and man am I fussy) Obviously, a Chinese Wholesale/Manufacturer branching out.

Hello,

Whilst the opening post does look a little spammy (sorry OP - we attract a lot of spammers and people can be twitchy), OP has been here for a while and we don't believe this to be spam/advertising.

We can't say for sure because it is the Internet and we can't vouch for anyone - but please do report any further concerns to us using the report button.

Wow! I assure you I am genuine. I am not selling you anything, just pointing out a nice bargain to be had in this difficult economic climate.

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 04-Jul-24 09:52:58

I can’t believe you are happy to buy Chinese goods. I would rather go without. It might be ‘a nice bargain’ for you but you’re supporting slave labour.

Georgesgran Thu 04-Jul-24 09:57:56

My apologies Boz for reporting.

pascal30 Thu 04-Jul-24 10:00:14

I wouldn't wear that.. horrible

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 04-Jul-24 10:04:49

👏👏👏

MissAdventure Thu 04-Jul-24 10:05:21

I like it smile

Again, as discussed before, a lot of clothes from some of the top brands have none too brilliant ratings as being environmentally ethical.

I think I got the Chinese bit wrong; they are made in Nepal and I have a soft spot for their quilted cotton jackets having visited the Country a couple of time and bought nice stuff, including cashmere jumpers, there.
They do make more conservative stuff. You can get a nice plain quilted navy jacket. Bang on for an English summer.

MissAdventure Thu 04-Jul-24 10:42:24

A lot of Nepalese clothing seems to be fair trade friendly, as far as I know (bearing in mind I know nothing) smile

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 04-Jul-24 10:45:23

Don’t they use donkeys to transport loads in Nepal?

MissAdventure Thu 04-Jul-24 10:46:52

Oh I don't know.
I will have to find out.

JaneJudge Thu 04-Jul-24 10:49:14

It's a nice jacket but I think I'd look ridiculous in it smile

MissAdventure Thu 04-Jul-24 10:52:02

I'm too short and fat for it, plus I have riculously skinny legs for someone so "stout" smile

Skydancer Thu 04-Jul-24 10:57:32

My friend witnessed a protest against human rights in China. A young Chinese man said to her they were trying to create awareness of what goes on and said the one thing she could do is not buy Chinese goods.

MissAdventure Thu 04-Jul-24 10:59:52

Well that's an awful lot of things, but more power to her and anyone else who manages it.

I love the hippy dippy look and I excitedly bought five pairs of hareem pants from Amazon because they had glowing recommendations .
Silly me !
And never again will I buy unrecognisable brands from Amazon .
Their other stuff is good and I have no complaints . I order frequently from them and usually use them to send gifts as it is so convenient .
But these hareem pants were the worst items of clothing that I've bought .
On the first wearing , despite selecting a roomy size the seams split wide open in the crutch rendering them embarrassing as I was walking outside .
Then , when I washed each pair an unbelievable amount of dye came out as if it had not been fixed .
They can be sent back to Thailand and there is no guarantee of a refund .I certainly didn't want replacements with the same product .
I just checked and they are still being sold .
I wonder about the validity of the recommendations .

I’ll take a look at their site thanks OP.

Boz Thu 04-Jul-24 12:15:49

I've no idea of their longevity. The two pieces I have bought looked nicer and better made than the poor photos. However, perhaps best to avoid something that needs a lot of washing such as cheesecloth trousers. As in everything in life, be selective.
My point of interest, having once been in the "rag trade", is the huge mark-up by Plumo on several items from this trader. I like Plumo and realise they have to make a profit. May I suggest looking at Plumo to see what products from NFYM (not for your mother!) they sre selling to gauge the quality you want.
Please excuse my enthusiasm - I have a passion for and make an art of decking myself out to face the world in the few years I have left to me.

MissAdventure Thu 04-Jul-24 12:24:01

smile
Good on you. smile

NotSpaghetti Thu 04-Jul-24 12:29:45

Who owns NFYM?
The other is a British company.

Auntieflo Thu 04-Jul-24 12:52:39

OK for some, but not for me.

They both look as though they have been made from the bags of offcuts on The Great British Sewing Bee.

Llamedos13 Thu 04-Jul-24 13:04:28

I thought the jacket was quite pricey.Hardly a bargain.
