OMG the Deputy PM looked a fright walking along Downing Street this afternoon.

Showwaddywaddy called and want their suit back!! 🤣

She looks like she either has no bra on or a badly fitting one. Her boobs are almost down to the waistband of her trousers.

There wouldn’t be much to say about their suits unfortunately Callistemon, nobody approaching NotSpaghetti’s father, so the thread would die very quickly. I am on the lookout for any dashing new male MPs, but if they are there I haven’t spotted them yet.

Iam64 Tue 09-Jul-24 18:16:01

Do you mean on politics or clothes Callistemon?
Maybe I need to clarify - I thought Johnson’s disheveled look did him no favours. Goes without saying I don’t like his politics either.
Otherwise I can’t recall ever feeling any male politician’s dress sense was worth commenting on

I don’t want to return to the Wrong Trousers but here goes. I found Some Comments overstepped any ordinary kind of comment about AR’s clothes, body shape and much more

Let us all desist from criticising any male politicians, too, then.

Fair's fair.

Your expectations are high! 🤣🤣

Waves to Rowantree - long live the sisterhood.
In Chat I suppose any light hearted stuff is ok. I like clothes so can be drawn into talking about for example - how on earth I get a Mother of the Bride outfit without feeling I’m in disguise as the Lady Mayoress of Weatherfield.
I dislike the term `catty’ but I’m absolutely with posters who are more interested in integrity , knowledge of their role and commitment to work for their constituents

What a catty set of comments from some of you. Who the blazes cares what they wear as long as they do a good job? As women we should be bigging each other up not bitching about the clothes they wear.
Criticise their policy, what they say, their integrity, but let's leave the sartorial nonsense alone.

Not The Sisterhood again!!

NotSpaghetti Tue 09-Jul-24 17:32:41

I don't care what they wear ' but as we are now in "CHAT" I think clothes are fair game.

When it was a "News" thread, clothing seemed inappropriate to me.

I'm more bothered about how good someone is at their job.

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 09-Jul-24 17:14:22

What is in vogue, what suits a particular body shape and what is appropriate for someone in government representing the country are completely different considerations. If you are a professional woman you shouldn’t look as though you’re off to a social event. And you should learn to dress for your body shape. Makes a huge difference.

grandtanteJE65 Tue 09-Jul-24 16:58:44

Tastes differ, but if we must discuss what people are wearing, a photo would be a really good idea.

I haven't the foggiest what this woman was wearing, and frankly, it is her ability to do her job that counts, not what she wears.

westendgirl Tue 09-Jul-24 16:57:47

What is wrong with Louise Haigh. Wide trousers are very much in vogue at the moment , in fact it's difficult to find any which are not wide cut.I would love yo wear them but as I'm small they don't suit me.
I think too that some posters are forgetting that styles change and what was suitable when they were working could look ridiculous now. Remember the large shouldered suits in the 90's?

This thread has done a complete circle of comments about three or four times. 😂

Yeah, it’s like the train Snowpiercer, it goes round and round the track, 1,000 comments long.❄️

Why should we, as women, be ‘bigging each other up’? If anyone is representing our country it’s not unreasonable to expect them to dress the part.

Oreo Tue 09-Jul-24 16:44:08

Do men big each other up?
We’re free thankfully to criticise or like anyone’s clothing in the public eye, and long may it continue.
Did anyone leave the ‘sartorial nonsense’ alone with Corbyn and Johnson? Or Theresa May or anyone else? We talk about what the Royals are wearing too and why not.

Oh dear. Louise Haigh. Why, just why?

😂😂😂

Priceless...!

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 09-Jul-24 16:30:09

She’s supposed to be a politician though, not an art teacher!

Oreo Tue 09-Jul-24 16:29:56

She has a really sweet face, lucky her.

Yvette Cooper always makes me think of my old school teachers.
I think "tidy" is the word...

NotSpaghetti Tue 09-Jul-24 16:16:32

It looks like Louise Haigh may have also bought me & em trousers.

Personally I like the AR outfit but I think it would have looked smarter if it had been designed with a wide belt (self fabric maybe)... or a higher waist.
I wish I could get away with it!

Callistemon213 Tue 09-Jul-24 16:12:40

Yvette is neat and petite.

Oreo Tue 09-Jul-24 16:11:43

Yvette Cooper always seems to dress well and in my view looks amazing, she isn’t young but kind of looks it.IYKWIM
