OMG the Deputy PM looked a fright walking along Downing Street this afternoon.

Showwaddywaddy called and want their suit back!! 🤣

She looks like she either has no bra on or a badly fitting one. Her boobs are almost down to the waistband of her trousers.

New film trending: 'Angela's Ghastly Trouser Suit'. Coming to a cinema near you soon. (If you still have one!)

I’ll get the popcorn 😄

I hoped that we had moved on from judging people on their fashion. These women are not working for Vogue.

That is not what is happening.

But when government ministers, of both sexes and all genders, are in the public eye in a professional situation, I for one, want them to be dressed in a mnner that enables them to come across as professional and competent, and ill fitting or scruffy clothes, do not fill that requirement - and that applies to men as well as women.

It is just unfortunate that while a man only needs to get into a dark suit, put on a shirt, and occasionally a tie, for women, where the range of colour, styles and fabrics available to them is so much larger, so is the opportunity to get it badly wrong. Unfortunately many women MP's of all parties, do have a tendency to wear jackets that are too small for them. I have no idea why.

Like this, you mean?

It’s her boots that are wrong.

Nice to see you joining in Daddima.

It’s her boots that are wrong.

It’s the cut of the trousers too. Chunky calves and tapered trousers are not compatible. Trust me, I know.

Personal experience Casdon ? I sympathise 😄
Monica makes a good point about jackets often being too short.Theresa May wore some stylish outfits and shoes and jewellery but favoured the bum freezer jackets.

The rolled up trousers leg, is she a Mason.

I’ve just come back from a cheer me up visit to M&S where they have some lovely emerald green pieces- or as I found myself thinking , “Angela Rayner” green!

Yes - I’m slim, but my calves are not - I think it’s a hockey legacy. The way tapered trousers are cut doesn’t favour the chunky calf when you sit down and then stand up without remembering to adjust them, a lesson I’m sure Liz Truss learned after that photo. I like her suit though, it suits her other than that small detail.

JaneJudge Sun 07-Jul-24 15:40:22

What a nasty ugly thread...needs removing.

VioletSky Sun 07-Jul-24 16:03:08

It's genuinely horrible, I think it needs to go too

BlueBelle Sun 07-Jul-24 16:03:58

This thread shows the worst side of many
Really horrible some real bitchy comments, as women who ve had to fight why can’t we rejoice in a woman whose done well
Nothing wrong with saying you don’t like the suit we all have our likes and dislikes but the nasty, nasty personal remarks and really horrible to see
It was started with malice and has continued going downhill all the way
I d like to see the whole thread GONE
