Angela Rayner ghastly trouser suit

OMG the Deputy PM looked a fright walking along Downing Street this afternoon.

Showwaddywaddy called and want their suit back!! 🤣

She looks like she either has no bra on or a badly fitting one. Her boobs are almost down to the waistband of her trousers.

There always seemed to be plenty of criticism on here about Johnson and Corbyn and their appearance.

Anyway, I wasn't overly critical of Angela Rayner, just those trousers.

I'm just checking in before this thread wings its way to the limit.
Obviously, every day is going to yield more fashion triumphs and disasters. I'm not sure I can be bothered to add a critique on every AR outfit ad infinitum, but this thread shows that many of us do pay attention to how professionals dress . I think AR will stick to single colour outfits with contrasting blouses and shoes. I've just seen her, on the 6 o'clock news, looking very nice in white.

By the way, the Labour Party is currently updating its website. This is the photo showing AR prior to the July 4th victory. I think she will want to change it, but for one of her wearing which outfit?

Here you go GrandtanteJE this is the trouser suit!

What a catty set of comments from some of you. Who the blazes cares what they wear as long as they do a good job? As women we should be bigging each other up not bitching about the clothes they wear.
Criticise their policy, what they say, their integrity, but let's leave the sartorial nonsense alone.

This thread has done a complete circle of comments about three or four times. 😂

It's circled the drain more than once, for sure.

Callistemon, you’re correct you weren’t overly critical of AR. Are we at the magic 1000 yet

kircubbin2000 Tue 09-Jul-24 19:07:15

I don't think there is anything wrong with the suit but it doesn't fit.

Or to paraphrase Eric Morecombe,

“It was the right trouser suit, but on the wrong body shape!”.

Doodledog I wonder how many times it’s been stated on here that there’s nothing wrong with fashion criticism for public figures?
As far as I’m aware there’s only been one deleted post about AR which wasn’t fashion related.
You have a strange idea about a drain when there’s so many topics worthy of that description.
It’s been an entertaining topic which has meandered nicely.
Wonder who will get the 1,000th comment it won’t be long now.

Am sure Angela will improve fashion wise, after all Jeremy Corbyn used to turn up to PMQ’s in huge ill fitting brown jackets and grey trousers in the early days, but after quite a while started to look much better and even had a beard and haircut, almost looked a different man.
Boris Johnson never did improve sartorially but that could have been part of his act.

LauraNorderr Tue 09-Jul-24 20:31:49

David Cameron’s mum said that Jeremy Corbyn should wear a tie in the Huse of Commons.
Can’t remember whether he took any notice or not.

The Cefinn clothing label is very appropriate work wear - designed by Samantha Cameron.

On someone who looked like a stick, maybe.

Angela looks normal and a good shape.

Why not just enjoy the thread and stop counting???

Clare Hornby, who founded Me+Em, is the wife of Johnny Hornby who worked on Blair's successful advertising campaign for the 2001 election.

He is the half-brother of Nick Hornby who was one of DS's favourite authors when he was young.

I'm a mine of useless- information 🙂

Cefinn specialise in occasion wear, and only make two or three suits, which would be a trifle tedious if you wanted to critique what people were wearing. Would Rachel Reeves look better in that pale blue linen suit than Louise Haigh would - I don’t think we are destined to find out, somehow.

Interesting though - Nick Hornby is a very funny author.
