Angela Rayner ghastly trouser suit

OMG the Deputy PM looked a fright walking along Downing Street this afternoon.

Showwaddywaddy called and want their suit back!! 🤣

She looks like she either has no bra on or a badly fitting one. Her boobs are almost down to the waistband of her trousers.

This is the dress AR is wearing today.

(Yes I am guilty of finger shopping meandem.com sale, with and extra 15% off 🙀, I need to go and do something useful)

Oh my goodness!

I'm sure Sophie Raworth was wearing it to read the BBC News tonight.
Is it doing the rounds?

Perhaps we’ll be seeing Sophie in the green trouser suit soon.

I forgot to say, I noticed SR's dress too. I think the ruching over the bust was different and it had funny tulip like sleeves. But it was the same colour and not unlike AR's.

I can't be ARsed to prolong this either, though 1000 posts about the wrong trousers would certainly have made a new record!

Please, just leave Dickens out of it. There is categorically 100% no discussion of the word "illegitimate" on this thread, so she did not see it. Nor did she say "fat." It's wrong to associate words with a poster just to suit a different agenda, and then to beat her down. Not far off bullying, (and I know what that gets like from V****r days).

It would be easier to reply to that post if you were clearer about who it is you are addressing. I am the last poster to reply to Dickens, so assume it is me, but am in no way bullying her! I have said my piece as she has hers and asked that we can agree to differ. Comparing that to ‘V….r’ is ridiculous.

Also, people ganging up to derail a discussion because they have decided they are bored with it instead of just moving on is something that reminds ^me* of ex posters, so you know. . .

I liked the sleeves, they'd be a good style to hide bingo wings but I could definitely do without any ruching anywhere.

I wasn't singling you out Doilodledog, there have been several, you just happened to be the most recent. It was called out by a couple of posters pages ago. Its something I feel strongly about.

Joseann Mon 08-Jul-24 07:32:09

Oops Doodledog! More caffeine needed.

Joseann Mon 08-Jul-24 07:34:56

By the way, * Callistemon*, on the sane BBC news from Paris, Katya Adler wore a really smart white trouser suit.

Joseann Mon 08-Jul-24 07:35:41

sane? same
I really can't spell this morning!

Doodledog Mon 08-Jul-24 07:36:50

Well it’s something I feel strongly about too. I have absolutely no beef with Dickens as I’m sure she knows, but I won’t be told what to post and to whom, and I am not a bully!

Plus the whole ‘some posters’ thing is maddening. It leaves people feeling ‘got at’, but unable to respond without fear of being told they are ‘making it all about them’.

Callistemon213 Mon 08-Jul-24 07:41:20

Crossing and uncrossing her legs to distract male MPs on the other side of the house is one that springs to mind 🙄. She takes it all on the chin with good humour, and her making a jibe at Sunak for his height seems to me to be tame in comparison

Sorry, cannot let that go unchallenged, Doodledog

The crossing and increasing of legs incident was ridiculous and reminded me of the Kenny Everett sketch 'In the best possible taste. It was a made-up story by a newspaper, condemned by all MPs.

However, insulting someone's height is not in the same category as criticising their attire. She called Sunak a pint-sized loser. It is insulting someone's physical appearance about which they can do nothing, making lack of height seem like an imperfection and it is deeply unpleasant.

Let's hope she doesn't use such terms if meeting world leaders or Heads of State. I'm sure she is a competent woman but, like some other politicians, sometimes the language she uses is not what we should expect from our governments, whether they went to Eton or left school at 16.

Apologies if I am derailing the thread.

Callistemon213 Mon 08-Jul-24 07:41:56

Not increasing - uncrossing
Autocorrect again.

I think I've seen Katya wearing that before and remember wondering if it washes or needed to go to the dry cleaners 😃

I'm looking at it from my personal experience on GN that's all Doodledog. I did not attach the word "bully" to you at ALL. I'll word it better ...... it feels like bullying to me. OK.
Only occasionally I jump in like this, and I can assure you, the way I felt at the time was not ridiculous - as yes, "some posters" do know.

Macron is unlikely to understand!

Oh for Heaven's sake! I didn't say that the way you felt was ridiculous. I said that comparing my perfectly polite posts to Dickens to those of 'V....r' was ridiculous. Please don't twist my words?

As I say, the 'some posters' thing is passive aggressive. Many of us have had that used against them, and that is very unpleasant, too. Defend yourself and you're 'making it all about you', or say nothing and have the digs stand.

The last thing I want is to have this thread blow up again, but there is a lot of hypocrisy going on. People saying that they have a right to free speech (true) are trying to deny that to others, either by running the thread down by posting chat all over it, and now, or after Dickens and I have agreed to differ, making accusations of bullying, veiled or not, and any disagreement is resurrected by someone claiming to want it to stop.

I understand people getting bored with a thread, but they can choose not to post on it. We all come on here at different times, and if people want to have their say when others have had enough, they also have that right.

OurKid1 Mon 08-Jul-24 08:29:11

Blimey - 31 pages and still going!

Joseann Mon 08-Jul-24 08:29:12

Apologies if I explained myself somewhat clumsily.
Only 234 to go!

Callistemon213 Mon 08-Jul-24 08:39:55

I am biased anyway as I'd never wear green.
It's not that I don't like green and the colour does suit Angela beautifully.

I wonder how many people have rushed out to buy one just like it?

233 .....

Oreo Mon 08-Jul-24 09:01:34

I don’t think anyone is getting bored with the thread and was going along nicely for the last few pages.Free speech is important as are the opinions of all posters unless they’re trying to stifle speech and get the thread closed down.
Apart from deleted posts, only one or two, posters are just having their say on an outfit.
As for posting ‘chat’ all over it, it was originally under news and politics but some wanted it moved to chat, so it is just that now.

Jaxjacky Mon 08-Jul-24 09:03:43

I note Michelle O’ Neill, FM of NI, is wearing a Green trouser suit today too.

Oreo Mon 08-Jul-24 09:04:57

I love all shades of green Callistemon213 and there’s never enough in the shops for me fashion wise.
There used to be clothes in so many shades of green that you don’t see much of now, jade green, emerald, olive, bottle, sage.

Doodledog Mon 08-Jul-24 09:06:08

Who was it who used to do the filibustering thing? It used to happen a lot when I first joined GN, but I was new, so the names didn't stick in my head. I think a few people were banned at the time, though.

I found it all baffling, as they ruined quite a few threads because they decreed they were boring, but their friends launched a campaign to have them reinstated.

I have to admit I have been on my iPad a lot for the last three days, I’ve pulled a muscle in my leg slipping down the bank in my garden so I’m on the sofa with an ice pack. Feeling easier now thankfully.

Ouch! Hope you are moving around a bit better today

I have bought two maxi dresses this summer one is an emerald green the other slighter lighter green and white.

Vintagewhine Mon 08-Jul-24 09:11:30

I read the opening post when it was in News and politics and thought, here we go, let's bash Angela Rayner, so I swiftly moved on. Having skimmed a few pages that's exactly what it was, definitely not about fashion which is why it was posted where is was, so I'll leave you all to it.

I’ve got a dodgy knee, so leg up and alternating ice/heat,plus the weather is awful ☔️💨

So much for my decision to spend less time on GN 🤷‍♀️

Oh dear, as a fellow knee sufferer, you have my sympathy!
