OMG the Deputy PM looked a fright walking along Downing Street this afternoon.

Showwaddywaddy called and want their suit back!! 🤣

She looks like she either has no bra on or a badly fitting one. Her boobs are almost down to the waistband of her trousers.

I am neither left leaning or a fool.

I do however abhor keyboard bitchiness.

I will reserve my judgment on Ms Rayner until I see her effectiveness in Government.

You are no fool for sure GG. Most of us aren't.

I like fools tbh, especially the Shakespearean ones.

Doodledog Fri 05-Jul-24 21:22:58

Horrible, isn't it?

NotSpaghetti Fri 05-Jul-24 21:22:08

This is a thread that will appear in the newspapers one day, "old women badmouthing other (younger) women".
'Twas ever thus.
Rather sad.

Sallywally1 Fri 05-Jul-24 21:22:03

Why are women in particular always judged on what they wear? I thought we had moved on from that. A man can appear in a crushed suit and nothing is said. No one commented on Boris Johnson’s hair which always looked a mess. I expect all the politicians had been up all night so won’t have looked their best!

I wasn’t going to mention that trouser suit but seeing as it’s already been brought up…….it was awful and she looked ridiculous. What was she thinking?

Perhaps next time you are going to up for 24 hours straight you might like to take a peek in the mirror.

I thought both the outgoing PM and the incoming PM and their wives all looked great.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 05-Jul-24 21:20:32

That was to GSM

Haven't read all this, but gather AR called a tart. Disgusted.

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 05-Jul-24 21:08:54

That is very kind of you and I thank you for it. I am very well but there are some things on which I have strong views, not shared by the left leaning majority on GN, and I have never suffered fools gladly.

tart noun (WOMAN)

[ C ] mainly UK very informal disapproving
a woman who intentionally wears the type of clothes and make-up that attract sexual attention in a way that is too obvious

[ C ] old-fashioned slang
a female prostitute

Why are you all having a go at GSM?? She is as entitled to her opinion as much as the rest of you. I happen to agree with her, AR might as well have stuck two fingers up to the voting public. In other words I don't care what I look like, I'm in the top job so you can all do one.

BlueBelle Fri 05-Jul-24 21:05:23

I m gobsmacked by your cattiness GSM
I have always despised AR. She is devoid of taste, class and manners. Her choice of clothing today shows her for what she
Good grief what’s wrong with you GSM !
this sheer bitchiness is totally uncalled for and says more about you than her

I hope GSM is alright. Genuine comment. I have been reading her posts for a long time and have always found her kind and professional in her answers. This is not like her usual way.

I nearly posted something similar, but given her last comment to me, I didn't bother.

But what if Starmer had turned up wearing a T shirt and bomber jacket?
What if AR had gone to meet the King wearing that green outfit?

It's professional to dress for the occasion.

Good grief how blooming shallow can you all get
I like Angela too Remarie she’s a straight talker. what’s wrong with Mrs Sunak s dress leave them alone it’s nothing todo with their actions or their politics
GSM really unkind, that remark surprised me
Why are women so nasty about other women shouldnt we be supporting each other
No problem with criticising their political stance that’s valid but to bitch over what they wear is just nasty

Agreed. I am quite shocked at the way GN has become since the GE was announced.

Casdon Fri 05-Jul-24 20:54:36

You said she looked like a tart. She was fully covered. Your comment was uncalled for.

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 05-Jul-24 20:49:50

There was certainly a dress code when I worked as a lawyer in the City. AR wants to make a fashion statement. That is a long way from dressing for her job. You can be very stylish whilst dressing for the part. She clearly doesn’t understand that, just wants to stand out. It’s not about her, it’s about the job.

Remind me, what nasty personal comment did Angela Rayner make about Rishi Sunak?

Oh wait, she called him "a pint sized loser", as if he has any choice over his height, whereas AR has choice over her clothes.

Nicenanny3 Fri 05-Jul-24 20:46:48

Well I've not looked at any footage outside no 10 today not really interested in Labour but couldn't resist a peek at Angela Rayner, well I'm lost for words she certainly didn't do herself any favours

Claretjan Fri 05-Jul-24 20:45:27

Claretjan

Oh wow, that's so unkind. How do you dress for the part? Is there a dress code?

This was meant for GSM.

Oh for goodness sake Primrose and clique just keep your unwanted opinions on people's clothes to yourselves.

Yes please do , or you could post photos of yourselves for the rest of us to criticise.
She probably been up all night.

Why was Mrs Sunak dressed as a zebra? Does any of this really matter?

Standing outside No 10 Downing Street after your spouse has just suffered a landslide defeat is presumably never going to be in any political partner’s top ten moments. But Akshata Murty, standing by (or near) her husband while he delivered his farewell speech, ended her 19 months as PM’s wife as she began it – using key moments to champion independent designers.

This time it was the turn of Indian label Ka-Sha – a striking high-necked graphic, red, navy and white cotton dress, which is available to buy for £395 from Omi Na Na, an online boutique which brings together sustainable fashion brands. She may have been standing slightly behind her husband, as is the custom, but this was no wallflower of a dress. It was bold, patriotic and nodded to her heritage.

I had a similar dress in 1974, RosiesMaw. Gottit in a second hand shop in the Grassmarket in Edinburgh along with another, equally vibrant by the same designer. As a life long hoarder, I can't believe I no longer have them........and suspect they may be worth a fair bit now... Seeing Ms Murty in her very striking 'red white and blue' dress brought back some lovely memories of the year we had our first baby - a wee girl.... I thought Mr Sunak's speech very dignified and suspect he already has another job across the pond lined up. Having said that, I am thrilled that I have lived long enough to see what a Labour administration with a significant Lib Dem contingent in opposition may achieve but the challenges they face are many and great...... BTW, I couldn't help wondering what were all the things Ms Rayner had in her pockets of her green suit....and why....
