My failed tooth extraction drama continues. DD up from the south, I’m rattling with pills, feel odd and still waiting for removal of the offending abscess and tooth. Apparently I’m on an urgent list, urgent as it’s now seven days…

DD so good and I had a small portion of cottage pie last night, my first ‘meal’ in days. At least I will have lost some weight 😁
What a blessing family can be! Life has come to a full stop and things cancelled. Yes, good health is the most important thing.

Morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s been raining but blue skies are appearing. Hair cut this morning then straight into Glasgow to meet my sister for lunch. We’ve only spoken by phone for ages so am looking forward to that.
Saturday only timetables on both buses and trains just now are a wee bit tricky but it’ll be fine.

Usual Wednesday catch up with lifelong pals yesterday was a bit sad because one of our number whose health has deteriorated a lot over the past year has been told by her cardiologist that flying is out for her now. She has defied many health problems and personal difficulties for years and had holidays booked for September and February. None of us had thought it was wise but she is really devastated and we were all upset for her.
She is a ‘character’ and it was hard to see her so vulnerable.
Old age is something to be grateful for, but brings its ownchallenges doesn’t it?

On that cheery note I’ll wish everyone a good day!

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Default dreich here. ☁️ 🙄So disappointing after yesterday's unexpected 23° in East Lothian where I was, indoors, minding the pottery exhibition.
That was nice but not well attended as everyone was outside in the sunshine.
Nothing planned for today although I have a niggling feeling I have forgotten something important.

Yes covid is still around. My American cousin who left here on Sunday has now tested +ve.
She says it's mild. I wasn't intending to buy a test kit so will just avoid people for a while.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a brightish Carlisle.

Yesterday was a beautiful hot sunny day and we reached 22°C. After a morning of cleaning and laundry I got out in the garden to make a start on planting my new purchases. Where the potatoes had been I made a wigwam for my runner beans which are quite well grown already, they were probably relieved to be out of their little garden centre trays. Carrot plants have gone in as well though I'm not sure how they'll do. I normally grow them from seeds straight in the ground. I've also done a lot of deadheading, the first flush of roses is nearly over.
Today, more laundry and a good clean of my kitchen. In the afternoon, I'm off for a talk with the U3A. I'm not sure it will be interesting to me but it's good to get out and see folk.
Then an evening of reading and watching highlights of the Tour de France having hopefully avoided any media mention of the stage winner.

How sad Puss...I/We lost several over the years. I have a special file of their photos to look over now and then.

The 14 yr old has been packed off to school, his brother will not emerge for some time.

I have come up to my room (top of three story house I can see the sea) with a cup of tea, then it’s shower/hair wash before I venture to Waitrose for a mooch round their very large John Lewis Homeware dept.

This afternoon I may go down to the beach with my kindle, this evening the GS’s and I will walk to a local restaurant for dinner.

As you can probably tell I adore treating (spoiling) my GC, and so far they still are happy to be in Granny’s company 🤞🏻

Morning from high cloud in S Hants, it’s due to burn off and be warm, a mixed visit to physio Ashcombe good luck with the exercises. Lots of ants around this year Greyduster ours flew a few days ago and then they all die, bizarre.
Granddaughter visiting today, she’s offered to tackle the kitchen cupboards as she likes tidying, it would be rude to refuse that offer! She’ll stay the day and we may go out for lunch.

Good morning all . A gloriously sunny day here at the Suffolk seaside. We’ve been lucky so far.🤞people in swimming early this morning. We must take the plunge too. Lovely once you’re in.

Yesterday, we shopped, gardened and entertained our friends.
We had drinks in the garden and then came in for food. Finishing off with coffee in the summerhouse as it was still warm.
Our friend with advanced Parkinsons fell in the garden and cut his chin. He falls everyday and seemed very vague and feeble .
Him and his wife are staying in a lovely place not far from here with disabled amenities (amenities for the disabled) 🙄.

The other couple are in their camper on the site just up the coast from us.

Might go to Aldeburgh today for fish and chips, before the schools break up next week. It will be very busy.

I must announce that we had summer here on the Angus coast yesterday! The temp was 20° and it was glorious. Today is back to grey skies and it's been raining overnight - makes me think of that Beatles song ..... "now I long for yesterday's. We are now forecast a grey showery few days. Oh well, at least I can now remember what a summers day is
A new M&S outlet has opened in Dundee - food and clothing. It's going to make food shopping more interesting 😁
Today is Tai chi again, after a very poor night's sleep so let's hope I'm not too 'inventive' with the moves

Visit from hairdresser (much needed) and man to service stairlift are today’s highlights, so house tidying and some clothes sorting and discarding will fill the rest of the time quite nicely. I am also making progress with the books, so I am gradually reducing the amount of stuff filling the house with possibly down sizing in the future in mind. Definitely a long term strategy.

Good morning from a sunny warm Cambridgeshire. Yesterday was spent catching up on three loads of washing and enjoying the garden. Today is my last Pilates class before we break for the summer and then into Cambridge for an appointment. Hopefully home to enjoy the garden again whilst the weather lasts.

Good morning from an overcast but warm W Kent. An interesting day out with the family yesterday, apparently today we are off to the Ashford Outlet Centre. Lots of cups of tea I think.

Good morning from a sunny Lincolnshire, forecast says we may get 24 degrees.
We spent the day outdoors yesterday, picnic in the grounds of Gunby Hall and then a tour of the house. GD was invited to play the grand piano, she played Gnossiennes by Satie. As we were ending the tour volunteers came and congratulated GD.
Last night we went to a tapas restaurant, a first for me and relied on DIL and GDs for help as they are all speak Spanish. Most of the dishes were too spicy for me but did find two vegetable and one fish dish without chilli.

Today is DIL's 52nd birthday and we are staying at the cottage and having a relaxed day, champagne is in the wine fridge and we have bought cake. GD1 says she will make pizzas, there is a pizza oven and barbecue in the outside kitchen, she has bought the flour and all the ingredients.
Last day today, we will be travelling home tomorrow. It has been good despite the weather.

Good morning from a lovely sunny Suffolk where summer seems to have arrived( if only for a couple of days). We shall enjoy the warmth and brightness no matter how long or short it is.

Off to my stretch class and then I’ll pop into our local market town as I must buy a few birthday cards. I used to use a great online shop which had a wonderful selection of cards including a selection of blank ones from the V&A,British Museum and Fitzwilliam as well as the usual brands but it sadly closed down about a year ago. Their postal service was excellent too.

Hope there is some sunshine in everyone’s day.

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞 East Northants, as I wake up here at DD's for a change.

We had a very good wine club yesterday evening, although there were only 5 of us; a delicious spread was put on by our hostess at very short notice, and we tasted 4 different roses. Three members were missing, one poorly, one on holiday, and the third one just didn't turn up......

DD will get me home mid-morning, then after a quick lunch I shall be going to a talk by a walking group friend on 'Life after a Transplant'. Earlier this year she took part in the Transplant Games in New Zealand, and came back with three medals in the swimming.

A Sainsbury's delivery early evening, and baked sweet chilli chicken for dinner.

Mizuna, I find great solace in my garden. However, yesterday evening I went out to feed my tomatoes, but couldn't quite reach the ones in hanging baskets. As I reached up, I ended up with a shower of tomato feed, It was in my hair, on my clothes and running down my face. 😭

Yesterday was busy, despite meaning to have a rest after a busy few days, but it didn't quite work out that way.
Mr MD has been at it again. He has become obsessed with that blooming robot vacuum cleaner, which also washes floors.

DH; I'm going to try and wash the tiled floors while you are out.

Me: O.K. What are cleaner are you using?

DH: What do you mean?.

Me: I presume that you need to spray the floor with cleaner.

DH: I never thought of that.

Me: I'm running late, but there is a pink bottle, under the utility room sink. It says FLOOR Cleaner , it has a pull up top and you sprinkle it on the tiles.

I came back, opened the door and was assaulted by an overwhelming, cloying smell. It triggered a coughing and wheezing attack. I could hardly breath.
On going into the kitchen, I spotted a spray bottle of concentrated floral disinfectant, which he had sprayed over the floors. Cue, long, exasperated sigh.
He thought I was an ungrateful wretch, when I pointed out the error of his ways. Why doesn't he blooming listen or get hearing aids?.
I was desperate for the loo and decided to retreat to the downstairs shower room, before I lost the plot.
You can't go in there, the robot is washing the floor., says DH. 🤬

Today we have both girls, because sets of parents are working. We plan to go a run down the coast, but because due to the Open, the our usual will be very congested.
We are going a convoluted route down the motorway to Greenock and back round to avoid the jams.
I love that journey, the road follows the Clyde and the view is amazing.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14° and damp. I think more rain is forecast. Ash that all sounds very painful for you. Good shopping NannyJan.
Yesterday the weather was lovely so I got two washings done and hung out. I did some necessary admin and have more to do today. I also weeded and picked lots of lavender which is in various rooms. I emptied the car which was in a dreadful state and threw out CDs and DVDs so felt happier when it's was all done. My neighbour came across in the afternoon with a jar of home pickled beetroot she had grown on her allotment and the promise of potatoes later. I gave her a couple of jars of jam in return. My aunt messaged me to let me know a cousin had died. We did not keep in touch at all but still sad as another member of the family gone.
Today I have more admin to do and I want to hoover the car. I might make bread too. Have a good day all.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex where the sun is trying to burn off the clouds. Forecast is for a hot day.
Had a useful visit from a community physiotherapist yesterday who reminded me that I should be doing the exercises I’ve been given for my hips, back and feet, at least once a day, every day!
I have to get some new trainers so will visit a local small retail park this morning before it gets too hot. Then will chill out for the rest of the day.

Good morning from a bright but cloudy hillside in south Glos.
I sorted out the swinging chair on the patio, tidied the surrounding area and now have somewhere comfortable to sit outside.
Today I have a facial booked this morning, DH is off to DD’s for a couple of days and I have plenty of bits to do before DS and family arrive tomorrow.

Good morning from a warm and brighter Black Country.

Such a lovely warm day yesterday. So Mum and I walked along the Staffs Railway walk to the Charity shop. Where I bought a blue handbag, which I needed as my old one was falling apart. A small colourful bag for evenings on holiday. A lovely M & S Shirt which looked brand new (£3.00) & 4 wine glasses for £2.00. Total £14.00. There were hoards of school children walking along in track suits. Spoke to a teacher and they were doing a charity walk.

Then we had lunch, with Mum having the usual fish and chips. Then popped over to DD's to see DGD2 who finished school after exams in May, to give a few Euro's for their holiday in Greece next week.

Today is a walking group walk, which is every other Thursday, we are meeting locally today by canal. Then a drink at the end in the pub there. Looks like a sunny day on the cards.
