I do hope you soon receive the dental treatment you need, hollysteers. It must be so wearing to have to suffer pain like that.

An early start for my car to have its MOT today. Luckily, my local garage, where it’s regularly serviced, will take care of that and I can walk home from there but I shall be using my trusted walking stick!

Good morning from a beautifully sunny Bristol. I should be doing some laundry to hang out in the sun.
How nice for you to see your sister, Mick; enjoy her visit.
We had a very good workout in tai chi yesterday, even though a lot of it was sitting down due to the temperature.

I cut out a simple jersey dress yesterday; the fabric isn’t easy to prepare, having a mind of irs own. Also, I have to do it on the floor as I don’t have a big enough surface for cutting out. (Not good for my old bones!). I’ll sewing up in the near future.

Today, I’m serving tea for something called the “Later Life Fair”. We were supposed to be three, but one has fallen by the wayside having contracted COVID and is feeling pretty unwell, poor thing. We’ll just have to work extra hard.

Good morning, it’s a warm 16° here in south Glos already, I didn’t sleep well even with the fan on 🙄
Off to collect my new hearing aids first thing, get a few bits of shopping then home to sort out things for DS and family who are coming for the weekend.
Dog has the dog walker, DH didn’t go to DD’s so he can sort her out.

Good morning from Malta where it’s another day of extreme heat 38°C.

I felt on the verge of tears all day yesterday but didn’t give in to it. Went with DD3 to pick up two very tired little boys, went home and watched Rafa beating Norrie, then walked up to the village (🥵) to meet a friend. We had a lovely catch up over a delicious iced coffee before I went home.

Today I need to take the dog to kennels as I’m going away for a week.

My four lovely children bought me a flight to Naples for my Mother’s Day gift and I will be staying with my niece and her husband who are living there for a few years due to his work.

I haven’t packed yet but it’s as hot there as it is here so I won’t need much.

Sorry you’ve got some concerns re your health Mick. Hope it’s nothing to worry about and that you enjoy your sister and b in laws visit.

Good morning all from what appears to be a warm day here on the east coast of Fife. I’m off again today on the train to Edinburgh with 3 others we’re going to have our lunch at Tigerlillys a very posh Resteraunt and why not ? Because we’re worth it, 😁
I’m getting ready for my annual Bbq on my birthday which is on Saturday. The house will be full of family, friends and neighbours it’s going to be a great weekend I’ll probably be giving my delicious home made raspberry jam away.

Yesterday I was lazy. I made a bloomer loaf which turned out fine, do I'll be eating that for a few days.
Like you Ash today the car is going in for a long overdue MOT. I fear that it'll fail as I think it needs a lot of work on it. I can walk home from the garage too as it's a local village one. I'm going to make biscuits today. Dgs1 had mentioned to his mum that he hadn't had grandma's peanut biscuits for ages, so I'll make him some. Apart from that, nothing much is planned. Good morning from my airless Cornish patio where the gulls are watching me eat my brioche bun. Yesterday I reconfigured my art room to enable me to get back to regular writing, which was getting gradually squeezed out. It's created a fair amount of clutter, so I'll hide in there and be busy sorting during the hot part of today. Tomorrow my eight-year-old granddaughter is coming for the morning - yippee, gradually getting back to normal - so I need to get art and sewing things ready for her. I hope your symptoms ease soon Mick.

Good morning from a sparkling South Downs. Another day for basking under the umbrella - I just love these days.

The birds appreciate their bath which I renew every morning and clean out. Blimey they are dirty birds - the amount of dust I guess it is, is astounding.

My mouse problem seems finally coming to an end and I hope that they are all enjoying their new and rural accommodation! It just shows though you see one or two and there are dozens of them making merry in the background. I shall continue with the traps though, as it is so successful. I have also put all the bird food into containers with tight lids.

Yesterday, sitting quietly reading in the garden, it is amazing how many pollinators visit the flowers. All sorts of bees and a humming bird hawk moth, whose caterpillars feed on ladies bedstraw. I must see if I can get some seed or garden equivalent. It does well on chalky soil.

We have a new barbecue which DH has taken charge - with no protest from me as I sat whilst supper was cooked, and hope to do the same today😄. I must sort out a fish recipe, either for mackeral or hake.

good morning everyone from a very sunny and still day in \North Yorks. Do hope the hospital can help y ou Mick and that you can enjoy your visitors. I am going away today, and had a horrible day yesterday, as usual , just when you need things to go well everything goes wrong. I put washing out about 5,40am and caught my foot and feel which wasnt good and felt a bit shaky but no bones broken. Then , just as I needed to contact people about last minute things, my phone went wrong, buzzing on line, couldnt use it . Tried various things but worse was that no incoming calls so had to email various people etc. didnt help the blood pressure. Have to catch a train and checked up on the train and yesterday sadly they had a fatality on the line and everything was chaos, no trains at all for a couple of hours etc , didnt make me feel any calmer. I hate getting ready to go away and when I drive feel calmer as I am in control. Going on the train is stressing until I actually get on the flipping thing. So stress levels quite high, which seems crazy when I think of all the places I have visited and lived in and coped quite well with moving etc. Suppose , with back problems etc, feel more vunerable and now living alone you dont have that reassurance that you do when there are two of you sorting things out. False comfort really as you can both forget things, you just think that you can trust each other to remember stuff. I am going north to polar regions and so have been trying to get a polar jacket , which of course is at the wrong time of year. Anyway I finally managed to organise one but it had to be sent to York and I had to go down yesterday to try it and buy it. Looked a bit mad in the shop as I stood in the heat putting a thick jumper on and then this jacket down filled and very warm, but had to try it. Anyway it was worth the trip as got it in the sale and am pleased with it. Just want to get everything finished and packed asap. I hope you all have some good weather and keep well and will look forward to reading all your posts when I get back.

Morning all from our last day in a cloudy Helsinki. We are flying home today to 30 degrees!

We have enjoyed our holiday. I have always wanted to visit Helsinki and it lived up to my expectations. I had salmon soup for lunch yesterday, which was so delicious.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from what promises to be another warm South Yorkshire day. Mick I hope your health issue is just a blip. Take it easy and enjoy the company of your family.
It was very hot yesterday. Had a good long ramble round the woods with the walking group. We stopped only to admire a lovely pond full of dragon flies and bull rushes. There are 367 acres of woodland and we never go the same way twice. Called in on DD for lunch and when I got back into the car I could hardly put my hands on the steering wheel it was so hot.
Today is my last day of volunteering at school until after the school holidays. DD and the menfolk will be round for a meal later, bringing their Guinea pig and all his paraphernalia to stay while they’re away. It’s going to be an interesting two weeks!

Good morning everyone from a warm and sunny Essex. It took ages to go to sleep last night, but not surprising really as I hadn’t done a lot during the day.
Couldn’t find any suitable trainers yesterday but bought some Converse trainers anyway. Will keep looking for the perfect pair of proper trainers.
I’m going to DD1’s today as I’m looking after one of the DGDs and the dog for the night while DD1 & her DH go to a gig.
I hope today is better for you madeleine and that all cars pass their MOTs without any problems.

Morning from a sunny south east. Getting ready for DD and DS and their families coming to stay - as we’re all going to a wider family party tomorrow which also happens to be my birthday. A rare event for my family to be here at the same time, as it’s quite a long journey for both. So a bbq tonight and cold dishes already prepared to take tomorrow.

Good morning all and we’re in for another fine day by the sea. Temperature just right for me with a little sea breeze. I’m so glad we’re here as it’s hotter ‘at home’.

Yesterday we had fish and chips eaten in the sea wall in Aldeburgh. So delicious! The seagulls are huge there, picking up scraps along the beach. You get fined £250 for feeding them.
Our friends on the camp site had a large almond croissant taken from their table by a cheeky one.

We visited our other pals in their accommodation which is perfect for them with amenities for disabled. It’s set in the middle of nowhere, so peaceful and relaxing. We sat in the garden and watched the sunset. Idyllic! 🌅.

Not sure what’s on the cards for today . We’ll walk the dog and see what pans out.

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Rough night with cramp after a day out shopping. Very pleased with some navy trousers I found at the outlet centre.
Today DD1 and I have some food shopping to do and then I will see DGS5 in as usual. DD and family are joining her brother and sister tonight to eat out, we have declined and will have a quiet evening.

We had the most delightful day with our girls yesterday, despite the constant drizzle.
Dollie had been hoping to go on the beach and was so disappointed.
We stopped off at the Garden centre at Gourock for lunch and a browse. There are fish, chicken, rabbits and guinea pigs there, which delighted the girls.
Foolishly we decided to let Babydoll walk, but she kept wanting to sit down on the wet ground! Poor papa was getting so flustered. I couldn't help, because I had the pram and my stick. How on earth did ever I manage with three under five on my own?
DH and I have decided not to have any more children after the shenanigans of changing Babydoll in a very smelly disabled loo. 😉
I will spare you the description, but it took the two of us to change her. She alternated between wriggling and arching her back, not a good idea when her nappy was awful.
She is a very determined wee girl!! 😁

Later, we drove up the coast to Saltcoats, so that we could visit our favourite traditional baker's, Dollie could ride her scooter and go to the amusements. Much to her excitement, I had saved up two pence coins for her to use on the waterfall game. A lovely lady beside her gave her additional coins, which was very kind of her. It was the best £1 } have ever spent.
In the baker's I bought cakes for all my children, as I would be seeing them yesterday. They were of course delighted with their goodies.

A bonus was that DS2's house was on the route home, which meant we saved the twenty minute journey, we usually do in heavy traffic. DIL's sister was there and she told Dollie that she could have a play date with her daughter, who has become friends with Dollie,
Dollie said that this had been the best day ever.

On arriving home, I saw a carrier bag under my car. Inside was a rose bush and a box of very wet luxury chocolates, It turned out my friend had left them as a belated birthday treat for me. 😍
She phoned later and told me that my friend across the road had Covid. ( She kept that quiet,) She was supposed to come with the Ebay queen and I on Monday, but didn't. She has been behaving quite oddly and we are concerned.
That was a lucky escape, for she must have been unknowingly infectious.
I have been unable to book my postponed Covid booster, now that I am well enough to have it.
Consequently I am anxious when I hear about the rise in Covid cases, due to the fact that I am immunosupressed and my new medication makes me extremely vulnerable.
I will need to be very careful.

Good morning from s somerset, hot and dry

I accidentally witnessed a very sad event yesterday afternoon, through my small side window. I am feeling upset and will elaborate in future. It was a natural event

All I could do yesterday was sit in the shade with a mug of tea and some simple sewing. Yesterday morning was fully taken up, frustratingly, with firefox issues, a very common sudden conflict so I could not get onto any site. I have now changed my default browser but need to find all my passwords. Panic and frustration all morning and then sad the rest of the day

I will be re-setting my mind today, I have a `health` room

Good morning from another lovely Suffolk day. Off to the hairdresser’s this morning where I shall hear all about the goings on in our local market town. My lovely hairdresser is the warmest friendliest and most talkative person I know!

DH and I plan to take the dog to the beach but will probably wait until late afternoon. There is a lovely pub in the village with a large garden so we may have an early dinner there.
