Coal tar soap anyone?

The lovely clean smell of it takes me right back to my grandmother’s bathroom in the 1940s.

DH’s favourite soap. He loves a good scrub with it

My late husband always used Wright Coal Tar soap, his skin was wrinkle free when he died at the age of 79.

I always use soap bars, just because I'm too tight to buy body wash, and I love coal tar, and imperial leather.

I'd forgotten coal tar, but now I'll have to get some.

Reminds me of my gran!

Ditto some lovely funny shaped bars I bought when we last visited the Isle of Skye. Too long since we’ve been back sadly.

I love the smell of Coal Tar!

However some of the nicest soap we ever had came in huge blocks from a BiL - he’d found a factory (for olive oil soap) in Marseille that was closing after many years, and selling off stock.
We had to slice it up, which wasn’t exactly easy, but it produced a lovely, gentle lather.

Actually it's a while since I bought it now but this range of soaps are very kind to skin.

We used to buy this when the children were small and my son and daughter-in-law use their products all the time. It's an old company and no harsh chemicals.

I love it. The bathroom always smells so ‘medically’ fresh when we use a bar of it! Maybe we do too …. 😊

I have used castile soap for many years after a nasty bout of excema. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

I have Wrights Coal Tar Soap (only they don’t mention the “coal” any more)
It was the only one DH could use and the smell reminds me of him.
Shower gels are the equivalent of using washing up liquid on your skin- smelling better if expensive enough - but to be avoided at all costs.

I look for triple milled soaps as the lye will be virtually gone.
Olive usually.
I look if I'm going through TKMaxx as often they have nice ones (not their own brand).

We use soap in the shower too.

DP likes this soap and uses it in the shower, says his skin always feels better after using.
