Good morning from a dull but close Torbay after a mixed day yesterday which warmed up eventually.

After a long gap for various reasons (being away then the teacher taking a holiday) I shall be back to the Move It Or Lose It class today. I might have to resort to taking part whilst seated, depending on how my grumpy ankle and knee behave.

I hope this is the start of a good week for all, especially those who are suffering, with blue skies for those on holiday. 🦩💐😎🥰🦩

Good morning from a grey Bristol. We are promised showers before it clears.
I hope your joints behave and manage to cope with your exercise class, Ash. Growing old is not for sissies!
I have a load of washing in the machine, ready for the line. I need to get ready to go away for a couple of days en famille with my offspring and DGC. SiL can’t come, work!
I’m baking all morning for my church “Singles afternoon” tomorrow - rather made a rod for my own back.
In the afternoon, I’m going to the OAP film show in the church hall - Darjeeling Express, then immediately on to one of the residents’ 100th birthday party. Interestingly, the family has invited only a handful of residents; I’m one of the favoured! As no presents were requested, we have had a collection to pay for her newspaper for X number of days… I shall offer her my time, which is so precious when when one lives alone.
I hope that everyone has a good week. Remember to make that random act of kindness. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Cornwall where it's misty which makes my patio look mysterious and inviting. The gulls are surprisingly quiet, phew. Yesterday I tackled a large denim patchwork throw which I've made and needed tweaking. I added scraps of lace to pretty it up a bit. Today will be a trip to the doctor's to discuss my knee progress, then coffee at Wetherspoons, a visit to the library and some basic shopping.

Good morning from dry s somerset

I did a couple of bits on my coat yesterday and the stitch ripper was out again, it is hard to see the stitches to take out so I am working slowly. I started the hood and my zip has arrived. It is so nice to have this slow steady sewing, I tend to go up between 8 and 9 and potter in my sewing room before bed. No screens and I sleep better

Today will definitely include some gardening and harvesting and juice-making from my own veg

Have a good day

Good morning in a grey and starting-to-drizzle Lancs. So much for the "Summer!"

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 22-Jul-24 06:24:01

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Light rain is expected later. I hope it’s not too much as OH has got U3A croquet this afternoon.

Our cleaner is coming later. I must do a Waitrose shop. The cupboard is nearly bare as OH didn’t shop much when I was in Helsinki last week.

We watched a ‘live’ performance of Present Laughter with Andrew Scott at the cinema yesterday. It was very good. We returned home to news that Biden had stood down!

Have a good day, especially those of you with worries or concerns.

brook2704 Mon 22-Jul-24 06:46:08

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry with some light grey clouds
We had a really enjoyable day family get together yesterday with both DDs and my 4 DGC all getting on together well. More of the same today, we’re heading off out somewhere with a picnic lunch so hoping it stays dry
Enjoy your class Ash even if it is seated!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

kittylester Mon 22-Jul-24 06:52:10

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

Our cleaners will be here before 9 and I need to finish off a gooey chocolate cake for our carers thus afternoon.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 22-Jul-24 06:56:27

Morning all, there is some blue in the sky, and the sun is hiding behind the numerous clouds.

Gym this morning, then I will take the teen GC home as DS and wife are flying back this afternoon.

Happy Birthday dear Gingster enjoy your special day 🥂🎂🍾🎉

Sat553 I hope you are enjoying your adventure along the Thames.

Have a great day folks 🙋‍♀️

GrannySomerset Mon 22-Jul-24 06:56:45

A sudden leak from a bathroom yesterday means I need to be on the phone to a plumber first thing. This is a second and different leak and the recently painted kitchen ceiling looks awful again. I could weep but it wouldn’t help. Hope the solution doesn’t involve major upheaval!

Greyduster Mon 22-Jul-24 07:04:02

Good morning Michael and all GNs. A good covering of cloud in South Yorkshire, in for the day. I feel absolutely awful at the moment and I hope I’m wrong but ithink I may finally have come down with Covid. No way to test but it feels like far more than a common cold. I shall set the Guinea pig up in the garden for the day soon and then come back to bed and try and sleep. What a waste of a day but I haven’t the energy to do anything else.
Have the best day you can folks.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 22-Jul-24 07:05:35

Sorry you feel so poorly Greyduster rest as much as you can, and drink plenty of fluids 👍

Marydoll Mon 22-Jul-24 07:06:00

Good morning all from a drizzly Glasgow, where it is currently 12°C.

DH is of course golfing, the only thing that would prevent him golfing is a nuclear bomb going off!

My cough is at almost breaking the sound barrier level (so embarrassing) and I feel out of sorts again, but the weekday sacristan is on holiday and I said I would cover this morning. I don't like letting people down, so I shall go and do what needs done. Anyway, it means I am too busy to wallow.
Not intending to do much when I return, apart from some sewing jobs and attempting to dehydrate my chillies, I will be resting.. Why are voluminous sleeves so fashionable at present? They make me look as wide as I am tall.🤣

Have a good day folks, GM enjoy your party and good wishes to all who are struggling.

Marydoll Mon 22-Jul-24 07:08:38

Happy birthday Gingster 🎉💐🎂.

Greyduster, 💐

Good morning everyone from a sunny and mild mid Essex. I’ll get the washing machine going in a minute, it looks as though it’ll be a good day for drying outside.
I must ring a locksmith this morning as the front door is refusing to lock properly, fortunately the outer porch door does lock but I need to lock the inner door when I go away. Also need to contact my car mechanic as I think there’s a problem with my car - or maybe it’s the way I drive it!
I plan to do all the recommended exercises for my arthritis, which may take a while! Maybe a little gardening too. Ashcombe I hope your “move it or lose it” class isn’t too painful today.
GrannySomerset I hope you can get a plumber in quickly to deal with the bathroom leak and that the repair isn’t too disruptive.
Have a good day everyone, with thoughts to those with sadness in their lives.

Grandmabatty Mon 22-Jul-24 07:21:29

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 13° and very grey. No early childcare day for me as dd is on holiday. Woohoo!! Ash I hope you enjoy your class. GrandMattie you are so busy and generous with your time. Greyduster lots of rest and fluids. 💐 Brook how lovely to have most of your family together. Fingers crossed the rain stays away for your picnic.
Yesterday I didn't get up to much. I looked after dgs2 for a while and then home. I intended visiting mum but decided against it and will visit her today.
Today I shall probably go to the retail park and buy a new car seat for dgs1. Then visit mum afterwards. Have a good day all.

luluaugust Mon 22-Jul-24 07:23:48

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Greyduster sorry you feel so ill my DB is also down with Covid.
Yesterday’s family gathering went well, pleased I managed to dish up for 12. Honey and Mustard chicken went down well for all ages.
DD1 and family set off on their journey back to Scotland this morning and I am looking at a pile of washing. A quietish week should see me catch up.
Best wishes.

Sar53 Mon 22-Jul-24 07:24:26

Good morning from St Katherine's dock in London. It took us 11 hours to get here yesterday and then we had to wait a good 45 minutes for the lock to open. Anyway moored here for a couple of days. We plan to get the tube to Battersea Power Station today to have a look round.
It's cloudy at the moment, hopefully we may get some sun later.
Happy Birthday to Gingster and GG13, enjoy your special day.
I hope Monday is kind to you all xx

GrannyIvy Mon 22-Jul-24 07:26:42

Good morning from a grey Cambs. We are off to the Norfolk coast for a couple of days. The GC want to go crabbing as they loved it last year. Hoping the weather will be kind.

It’s a busy week this week and DH is struggling with a nasty cough following a cold but covid test has consistently been negative even though lots of covid about. My DD1 has been seen in the long covid clinic now and plans to help her have been made.

Have a good day everyone

RosesandLilac Mon 22-Jul-24 07:34:06

Good morning everyone, it’s brightening up nicely here after an early shower- I left washing on the line overnight 🙄
We had a lovely weekend with DS, DDIL and the DGCs, so good to see them. Dgs1 goes to secondary school in September, his brother is going to miss seeing him at school.
DS and dgs1 are planning another very long cycle ride during the holiday, possibly from Munich to Trieste? They did Salzburg to Grado last summer. Fabulous adventures for them!
I didn’t sleep well, I have a painful neck too so a quiet day today, I will potter happily in the garden.
Have a lovely day everyone 🌹

Bellasnana Mon 22-Jul-24 07:34:46

Good morning from Naples where it is forecast to be 31°C and a chance of thunderstorms.

Had a lovely quiet day yesterday, a drive to the coast with a stop for a snack, then back to watch the tennis, sadly Rafa lost.

We are off out somewhere this morning but I’m not sure where so it will be a surprise!

So sorry you are feeling so poorly greyduster, a wise decision to go back to bed and hopefully sleep it off. 💐

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

harrigran Mon 22-Jul-24 07:56:37

Good morning from a grey and damp NE.
Lazy day yesterday, too any aches and pains to do housework.
Hope all those under the weather feel better soon.
Happy Birthday Gingster flowers
Brought my tea back to bed while my Danish pastry defrosts, I am living out of the freezer as I didn't go shopping when I returned from holiday.

Gingster Mon 22-Jul-24 07:56:50

Good morning all and it’s beautiful here in Suffolk. The sea is glinting and it’s still and calm. Not a soul in sight along the beach.

Oh GrannyGravy it’s your birthday too. 😉. Have a lovely day 🎁🎈. I’m not sure what Dh has planned for me. I’m sure he will spoil me rotten 🤔. 😂.

I hope Ash your move it class goes well.
Marydoll I hope that cough eases .
Take it easy Greyduster.

Enjoy the day 🌸

Happy Birthday Ginster 🎉🎂
I’ve got washing and some admin to do today.
