Ye gods and little fishes!! That went too soon and it was my fault - if you press 'send' that's what happens
Sorry I've been absent lately but yesterday each time I got to the end of a longish entry a "This page is not available" flashed on the screen and everything disappeared. After the second time, I gave up.
Anyway I didn't have much to say. Tai chi on the beach was glorious on Saturday and 22 people turned up to enjoy the blue sky and gentle breeze and a couple of sets, followed by tea and sticky buns at the beach pavillion for 12 of us. A lovely way to spend the morning.
greyduster that sounds suspiciously like the strain of covid I've just had I'm afraid. It was very low key - I had every symptom but not badly. But recovery is very low key as well! I'm into my third week and the cough has gone now, but the exhaustion lingers on. Just listen to your body and get plenty of rest flowers
So, nothing else to report and I shall away and get some very late breakfast.
Enjoy all your busyness everyone and I hope you manage to get a plumber grannysomerset .

Good morning everyone from a dull and damp Northampton. Had decided to go to Milton Keynes today, but when I woke up very early, decided I was still far too sleepy and tired, so went back to bed! I have put it off till Thursday instead and changed my Sainsbury's delivery to Wednesday to accommodate the change.

No yoga this morning anyway, so am taking it slowly today - I also seem to have a bit of an eye infection as well, caused I think by hay fever, which has felt bad this weekend.

Haven't read the thread yet so going back to do that later.
Have a good Monday everyone.

I’m not wakening her because she will open her mouth with her eyes and talk till she closes them again tonight!

My hand is definitely improving but I can't make pots, drive or knit yet.
Df mum has had a stroke. Things could be worse.

Marydoll so sorry about your cough. I'm sure you've tried everything 🙄

GrannyGravy13 Mon 22-Jul-24 09:01:31

We have seagulls on the school field and sometimes in our garden when the sea is rough, they are noisy and rather bullying towards our resident birds.

Another beautiful sunny morning. Hello to all.

Apart from some shopping nothing I have to do today apart from enjoy the garden and the weather.

Gingster cake is called for on Wednesday. I hope you and GG have a lovely day and all enjoy a good one.

EkwaNimitee Mon 22-Jul-24 08:01:29

Good morning Mick and everyone from rainy Carlisle. Another delightful summer day!
I visited a different garden centre yesterday, mostly to look for 2 small shrubs for a couple of planters. I came away with 2 dwarf conifers, not my ideals but good enough. The stock is looking a bit tired now so I may find something I like better when new autumn stock comes in. If so, the current ones will do fine in the garden.
Today I am awaiting the appliance engineer who is supposed to be here this morning. My rarely used oven threw a hissy fit when baking a joint for my recent visitors and shorted a circuit which also supplied my broadband. Luckily the oven had a twin-the house came supplied with 2 single ovens, side by side. The second one had never been used so finally came in useful.
I've had to pay an upfront fee which includes any parts.
The first repairer I tried, a big firm, wouldn't take on the job unless I took out a care plan. I don't do care plans! Well, not for kitchen equipment.
I'll get on with bed changing and vacuuming whilst I await him.

A speedy recovery to you, greyduster, I hope your symptoms aren't going to be too bad.

The best possible day to you all.

Beechnut Mon 22-Jul-24 08:01:14

Good morning all and it’s beautiful here in Suffolk. The sea is glinting and it’s still and calm. Not a soul in sight along the beach.

Oh GrannyGravy it’s your birthday too. 😉. Have a lovely day 🎁🎈. I’m not sure what Dh has planned for me. I’m sure he will spoil me rotten 🤔. 😂.

I hope Ash your move it class goes well.
Marydoll I hope that cough eases .
Take it easy Greyduster.

Enjoy the day 🌸

harrigran Mon 22-Jul-24 07:56:37

Good morning from a grey and damp NE.
Lazy day yesterday, too any aches and pains to do housework.
Hope all those under the weather feel better soon.
Happy Birthday Gingster flowers
Brought my tea back to bed while my Danish pastry defrosts, I am living out of the freezer as I didn't go shopping when I returned from holiday.

Bellasnana Mon 22-Jul-24 07:34:46

Good morning from Naples where it is forecast to be 31°C and a chance of thunderstorms.

Had a lovely quiet day yesterday, a drive to the coast with a stop for a snack, then back to watch the tennis, sadly Rafa lost.

We are off out somewhere this morning but I’m not sure where so it will be a surprise!

So sorry you are feeling so poorly greyduster, a wise decision to go back to bed and hopefully sleep it off. 💐

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

RosesandLilac Mon 22-Jul-24 07:34:06

Good morning everyone, it’s brightening up nicely here after an early shower- I left washing on the line overnight 🙄
We had a lovely weekend with DS, DDIL and the DGCs, so good to see them. Dgs1 goes to secondary school in September, his brother is going to miss seeing him at school.
DS and dgs1 are planning another very long cycle ride during the holiday, possibly from Munich to Trieste? They did Salzburg to Grado last summer. Fabulous adventures for them!
I didn’t sleep well, I have a painful neck too so a quiet day today, I will potter happily in the garden.
Have a lovely day everyone 🌹

GrannyIvy Mon 22-Jul-24 07:26:42

Good morning from a grey Cambs. We are off to the Norfolk coast for a couple of days. The GC want to go crabbing as they loved it last year. Hoping the weather will be kind.

It’s a busy week this week and DH is struggling with a nasty cough following a cold but covid test has consistently been negative even though lots of covid about. My DD1 has been seen in the long covid clinic now and plans to help her have been made.

Have a good day everyone

Sar53 Mon 22-Jul-24 07:24:26

Good morning from St Katherine's dock in London. It took us 11 hours to get here yesterday and then we had to wait a good 45 minutes for the lock to open. Anyway moored here for a couple of days. We plan to get the tube to Battersea Power Station today to have a look round.
It's cloudy at the moment, hopefully we may get some sun later.
Happy Birthday to Gingster and GG13, enjoy your special day.
I hope Monday is kind to you all xx

luluaugust Mon 22-Jul-24 07:23:48

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Greyduster sorry you feel so ill my DB is also down with Covid.
Yesterday’s family gathering went well, pleased I managed to dish up for 12. Honey and Mustard chicken went down well for all ages.
DD1 and family set off on their journey back to Scotland this morning and I am looking at a pile of washing. A quietish week should see me catch up.
Best wishes.

Grandmabatty Mon 22-Jul-24 07:21:29

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 13° and very grey. No early childcare day for me as dd is on holiday. Woohoo!! Ash I hope you enjoy your class. GrandMattie you are so busy and generous with your time. Greyduster lots of rest and fluids. 💐 Brook how lovely to have most of your family together. Fingers crossed the rain stays away for your picnic.
Yesterday I didn't get up to much. I looked after dgs2 for a while and then home. I intended visiting mum but decided against it and will visit her today.
Today I shall probably go to the retail park and buy a new car seat for dgs1. Then visit mum afterwards. Have a good day all.

Redcar Mon 22-Jul-24 07:13:16

Good morning everyone from a sunny and mild mid Essex. I’ll get the washing machine going in a minute, it looks as though it’ll be a good day for drying outside.
I must ring a locksmith this morning as the front door is refusing to lock properly, fortunately the outer porch door does lock but I need to lock the inner door when I go away. Also need to contact my car mechanic as I think there’s a problem with my car - or maybe it’s the way I drive it!
I plan to do all the recommended exercises for my arthritis, which may take a while! Maybe a little gardening too. Ashcombe I hope your “move it or lose it” class isn’t too painful today.
GrannySomerset I hope you can get a plumber in quickly to deal with the bathroom leak and that the repair isn’t too disruptive.
Have a good day everyone, with thoughts to those with sadness in their lives.
