nannytopsy and naughtyneine thank you for your kind words of encouragement regarding exercises! I do forget to do them and know I don’t do enough of them, but I think every little helps. I hope that you soon get dates for your operations, waiting is quite frustrating. The fitter we can all get pre-op, the quicker we’ll recover! For a couple of years my mind has been full of the aches and pains in various parts of me - I wonder what I’ll find to worry about when I’ve had my operation!
charleygirl my grass is growing now and will need a cut soon, when it stops raining!
We obviously had a lot of rain last night, my shed floor is very wet, I must try to find a handyman to repair it. If I cleared the garage I could put the contents of the shed in there and get rid of the shed…..
Stay dry everyone. Thinking of you all.

Soop's special Kitchen for kindly folk.
(1001 Posts)Welcome! Thank you all for making our Kitchen a super-special gathering place.
Enjoy!
and hugs galore.
Yia I think having an early date is helpful, less time to worry although I am well aware how difficult it is not to stress over it.
gtandmabatty I would repair or replace your machine. I pop fridge shelves in it and they come out sparkling.
TOYA to all. I need my grass to be cut, I am hoping for a dry couple of days before next May.
Yia... Thank Goodness. I hope you and your DH manage to have a chance to relax a bit before Tuesday...can you maybe have a little outing just to try and take both your minds off next week. Easier days than done I know. 🤗
Redcar... I'm trying to get as fit as I can before my hip is redone so I know what you mean about exercise. Now you have a date it will feel slightly easier to cope with the pain as you know it's coming to an end.
FGT2...enjoy yourselves and do just what you want...
Love to everyone in this special place.
Morning! I’m glad you have date redcar - keep up the pre op exercises! I have been waiting so long, I forget to do them.
Yiayia fingers crossed for a successful outcome next week. It will be here in no time.
We have avoided the awful floods in East Anglia but last night the rain was torrential. The garden does need it but little and often please!
SiL & her dogs plus all of our family are here for the weekend. I have my biggest ever Tesco order arriving this morning.
Enjoy your days and no more tripping up NannyG4!
Good Evening Lovely Ladies....
Yia I really do know how you feel, you wont be able to think of anything else, are you near to the hospital? You and your DH will be in my prayers 🙏🙏
I've had a very quiet day today, too much time to reflect but I've got through it. Managed to cross a couple of things off my long list.
Thankyou to ALL of you who send kind supportive messages. I hope you've been able to have the best day you can under your circumstances. Love the holiday photos, very envious.
Well I will bid you all a peaceful night, love and hugs to you ALL.
Smell the roses 🌹🌹
Hi all I’ve been to the local WI for a free look see, I’d seen a Tai Chi instructor was there, it was interesting.
Yoa I’m not surprised you’re all of a dither, it’s good that’s it’s soon, but very scary too, big hug xx
I hope for good results for you gillgran and that you’re not uncomfortable.
Swimmers at 8 FGT how decadent🤣 anyone would think you’re both relaxed!
It’s sounds complicated Blossoming like a puzzle, no wonder you’re tired.
Similar weather corner we had a minor w machine leak, a good excuse to put the heating on for a while.
Glass of wine here too Grandmabatty I’m celebrating I still know the words to Jerusalem (atWI).
Good to hear you’ve got a date now Yia thinking of you both
Gillgran sending ❤️
Blossoming x
Joining in with Soop’s group hug. Glad your DH isn’t facing a long wait four the surgery YiaYia, no wonder your head’s whirling.
I spent the whole afternoon sorting out my increasingly complex drug regime and updating my calendar with reminders for prescription order and collection and dates for blood tests etc. I need to arrange an optician appointment and. I need to find a new optician as the one I’ve been going to for years is no longer accessible for anyone with impaired mobility. I’m so tired!
Goodnight, TOYA as always x
YiaYia4 it must be scary for you both (((hugs)))
FGT2 get your glam on and go for a vino tinto 🍷(or two)
Yiayia I'm really glad that your DH doesn't have a long wait. I'm thinking of you both. FGT ham and tomato on crusty bread sounds lovely. My pizza was very nice and I have enough for tomorrow and some to freeze. I've had two glasses of wine and that'll do me for tonight. I'm not sure if I'll replace the dishwasher. I'll think about it.
yiayia I can understand your feelings about your DH’s operation, next Tuesday seems very soon, maybe less time to worry too much. Hoping and praying that all goes well.
Thank you everyone for the hugs and good wishes, I need to make a list of all the lists I need to make. I’ll be at my eldest daughter’s almost until Christmas , or even until after Christmas depending on how well I am doing. fgt2, enjoy your evening whatever you decide to do.
Have as good an evening as you can everyone, special thoughts to those with illness or anxieties to deal with.
Thank you, soop, always up for one of your friendly kitchen's group hugs. x
I've just had a "procedure", not pleasant, but I'm hopeful for a good outcome. I'll remain in the quiet corner.
FGT2, I misread your post, I thought that you might have a glass of Ribena!?
Enjoy your special, happy place. x
Good to have a quick date yia, understand they mix of emotions though.
November will soon be here redcar. Sadly sleep still elusive here, my Dad would have said the outcome of a guilty conscience. Don’t think so
.
It’s been mostly grey and chilly here today. Sharp rain showers too. Feels like December. Our internet is dropping in and out in a really frustrating way, no idea why. I’m hoping it will sort itself. Thankfully I can tether the iPad to my phone and ignore the vagaries of the hub.
Some worrying news today about the health of a long standing friend. Phoning to share this mornings diagnosis she was in tears. I wish she was closer to give her a hug, she’s two and a half hours away. Distance is a real barrier at times.
A broken dishwasher isn’t good news grandmab. Hope it’s easily and quickly sorted.
A hug to all sitting quietly or missing loved ones. In fact a hug to anyone who’d like one. Have a good evening and a restful night everyone.
So pleased for you and your DH Yia
At the least your uncertainty is over and you will have a clearer picture of what is to happen next.
Hopefully treatment very soon.
My thoughts will be with you.
Yiayia4 - that’s good news. So soon too, so not really enough time to worry.
Yiayia good news the operation is coming soon. Hope all goes well.
Thanks to all for the hugs and kind words. Been a busy day today. Church this morning then coffee with friends this afternoon.
To be honest I don’t know if I’m coming or going tonight😂
Glad you have a date now Yia but I can understand your mixed emotions.
Hello Kitcheners.DH heard this afternoon that the operation is planned for next Tuesday. It’s good news/ scary news all mixed in to one.At least not long to think about it.
Thinking of you all.
‘Evening All’.
Is 8pm here in our happy place. We are sat on our little balcony. Himself is still in his swim shorts and no top. It’s pleasantly warm still and light. We had tapas in the garden and a beer each (AF for Himself) for the princely sum of €11. We didn’t fancy going out to eat. I made ham & tomatoes on crust rolls. I need to up my game …
#lazygran
If we can stir ourselves we might dress more appropriately and cross over the road to people watch for an hour. I could have a glass of Ribera. But will we? Hmm. Not sure.
Hi to all kitchen pals, it’s been the same here grandmabatty sunny but cold. A nuisance about your broken dishwasher, I hope you can get it fixed soon.
I’m just back home from town, I had a quick look at the M&S sale but it’s mostly summer stuff and seen as it’s so cold here today it wasn’t really appealing!
Good that you’ve a date to plan around redcar it’ll soon be here
Sending ❤️ to Doodle, nannyG4 and everyone in the quiet corner x
Thinking of MrSoop, MrYiaYia, Nannytopsy, Redcar and all awaiting surgery and procedures.
Also, Doodle, Baggs, NannyG4, Rosie'sMaw and all grieving for loved ones, and having to get on with daily challenges. You are brave ladies. One day at
a time. 🙏💐
The tree is down!!
TOYA
Afternoon kitcheners. It has been sunny but cold here. I've had a quietly productive day. Hoovered the house, washed and dried all the dishes by hand as the dishwasher is broken, did a washing and got it hung out and spent a couple of hours in the garden dead heading and sweeping up. I'm shortly going to make a pizza for dinner and serve it with garlic sourdough bread. I might have a wee glass of wine to. I hope FGT is enjoying her happy place. NannyG4 I hope you have recovered from your fall.
A group hug for NannyG4, Doodle, Yia, Redcar, RosiesMaw together with all our Kitcheners who need extra special loving care.
Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes-another year but I am treating it as a number.
YiaYia the sooner the better because waiting is awful.
Where are basic manners these days if nobody helped you after your fall *GrannyG4".
Redcar at least you have a date and can prepare. If you want any hints and tips look at the Hips and Knees thread.
I live on the outskirts of London but 1/4 mile away from me it has resembled the Lake District. People will find their homes uninsurable and difficult to sell. It takes so long to recover from such an ingress of water.
I was supposed to meet a friend for coffee but we sensibly decided to stay in our respective homes.
Take each day at a time and please look after yourselves, especially you soop.
