Good morning from Durham. A bit overcast, but still and it’s forecast up to 22 degrees later.
Coffee with a friend this morning, then I’ve the day to myself, although there’s DD2’s laundry to tackle - 4 loads. I’m sure I can fill my day.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Son’s partner went back to London yesterday for a couple of days. She’ll be back tomorrow and then after a barbecue all three of them will go back to Kew.

Today my daughter is coming for the weekend. I saw her recently when we went to Helsinki, but OH hasn’t seen her for a few weeks.

My granddaughter loved watching the Olympics yesterday. She’s quite sporty.

Younger son WhatsApp’d yesterday. He is a Senior Policy Advisor in Westminster and tells a good story about what’s happening! He and his brother are still not speaking and it’s his birthday on Tuesday. He wants to come back for a few days. I said that was fine except elder son and his family might be back on Thursday! None of this is satisfactory at all.

OH is going to see his bees today. They are currently awash with honey.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where it’s probably about to rain again. Yesterday felt like a blustery autumn day.

SiL brought daft dug home yesterday, I’ve missed her little face. He brought the children too, it was so good to see them for a little while before school starts next week.

It’ll be another quiet day, reading probably, interspersed with dog walks. I haven’t picked up my crochet hook for a few weeks now, seem to have lost my mojo.

We are heading out to a Country and Game fair later. No idea what to expect but will look forward to seeing birds of prey displays. When we return home we will have sticky Asian pork rack ribs, rice and pak choi for dinner.

I bought this plant in the spring and it was only about 4 inches tall. It’s grown to about 8 feet tall dwarfing the dahlias behind. I misread the plant label as reaching 80cm in height rather than 80 inches. It’s vastly taller than that. We call it the triffid.

I hope your stubbed toe is improving R&L. That’s so painful. I’ve broken one of my little toes twice in the past catching it while barefoot. Enjoy every minute of your holiday Urms.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and sunny. There's quite a breeze though. GrandMattie I like the look of your quilt. Greyduster enjoy your bbq.
Yesterday I went to the local garden centre which has a nice selection of cards and gifts. I picked up a few cards for forthcoming birthdays and a couple of things for mums birthday next week. They also have a really good deli where I got a steak pie. I was tickled to see it was from Galloways the butcher. Scottish grans might remember The Steamie and the mention of Galloway's mince. In the afternoon I weeded the garden and pottered about the house. The steak pie is delicious. I had half of it last night.
Today I'm going back to the garden centre but for breakfast with my chum. I'll pick her up and take her home again as she struggles with driving these days. After that, I have some admin to tidy away and a small ironing to do. Tonight I'll have the rest of the steak pie. Then I'll watch the Olympics. Have a good day all.

Good morning from sunny Cornwall. My son was brilliant yesterday, uncovering the secret space in my wood, secaturing with care, revealing the view over rooftops and moving moss-covered concrete blocks as if they were matchboxes. I remember putting those blocks in place not that long ago. Ah to be that strong again. As you can see I dressed carefully and had my hair done for the occasion. 😂😂 I was in heaven to be among my trees again and was very well-behaved, mostly just standing around looking dishevelled. 🤣🤣 My son said, 'This is your natural habitat, mum.' So true, I'm happiest outdoors even in the worst weather. It was such a joyous day.

Today I'm off to a hardware store to find a metal post I can use as a handrail at the entrance to my secret garden, one which will also benefit the grandchildren.

Change of plan yesterday as DGS’s speech therapy was cancelled due to the therapist being unwell so I had a free morning. I didn’t do much with it as it’s so hot at the moment.( that’s my excuse anyway 😄)

Went to pick the boys up from nursery, both very tired bless them. They have a week off next week so I shall be seeing more of them.

No plans for today at all except to remember to put the rubbish out! It’s black bag day and DD3 filled quite a few when she cleared her old room out.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Sorry you’re still having frustrating problems with your TV reception, Mick. Surely it’s the building management’s responsibility to sort out aerial issues?
It’s shaping up to be a dry but cloudy day in South Yorkshire. DD and the menfolk are coming over for a barbecue later so I hope it’s not as windy as yesterday when I had to double peg the laundry to keep it on the dryer. They will bring a zillion photos of their recent holiday so it might be a long afternoon but it will be so good to see them.

Good morning from a dawning Bristol. It’s overcast but will clear later.
Having expected a quiet day yesterday, it turned out to be very busy!
While I was finishing a batch of piccalilli, I got a text from DD inviting me out to lunch. She didn’t want me to be moping as it would have been DH’s 80th birthday. I hung out my washing and started on my new patchwork.
We went to a fancy French deli and cafe opposite Waitrose. It was very nice and surprisingly modestly priced, our first there. She had been making blackberry jam and needed lemons and sugar! Her covid symptoms have gone but she is still very tired.
In the afternoon, I made a coffee and walnut traybake and some of my very, very easy 3 ingredient peanut butter cookies for church coffee this morning. If I’m serving, I make goodies…
I also had two batches of washing, which dried very quickly.
I also ordered, via my pc man in Kent, a new computer. He’ll programme it remotely and come to drop it off! (He has a house in wales and coming to me isn’t too much out of his way… 😀)
The evening was spent very quietly!
Bristol’s annual balloon festival is on this weekend, but I’m too far north to see any. Just hope some draft our way.
