Good morning all. Back home in Essex after a busy few days with DD and DGDs. Not all ‘plain sailing’ but in general it was good. Off to a Diamond Wedding anniversary lunchtime party today with DH. Will wait to see if the predicted 30 deg materialises before deciding what to wear. It’s overcast right now. Enjoy your day, and 💐 to Ash.

Good morning and it’s very warm and humid already.

Washing out and Roast Chicken cooked. We’ll have it later (when we like) with pots and salad.

Yesterday Dd, little gd and I enjoyed a pottery afternoon at Clay Cottage. We chatted and created and the time flew away. We were all quite tired when we got back home. The concentration and creativity took its toll 🤣🤣.

Not much on today, Olympics, reading and trying to keep cool.

Ash take your time and join us when you’re ready 💐.

Have a lovely day everyone 🌸

Good morning everyone from an overcast grey-skied Northampton, but it looks like it will burn off later.
Just re-listening to yesterday's Sounds of the Sixties on Alexa. Loving the music and Tony Blackburn.

Enjoyed yesterday's trip to the shops; met the mum of one of DD's school friends in the M&S Cafe and had a nice chat. Bought yummy goodies for today and the forthcoming week, and a bunch of my favourite flowers, freesias.

No plans for today except more Olympics and reading in the garden.
Lamb steak and herbed new potatoes for dinner tonight.

flowersflowers for Ash and anyone else who needs them.

Enjoy all your bizzyness today, I am longing for a quiet day today, My plan is to find solace in my garden, my happy place.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle where it is 18C° and rising...to what dizzy heights I wonder?!

Yesterday was relatively quiet. I read the paper after I'd been out early for it. In the afternoon, I had a long phone chat with my sister followed by a sort out in my cluttered garage. I have offered 2 pieces of furniture to a charity but will they want them, I'm still waiting to hear back. They're getting very picky these days even with things that are as new and barely used as these are.
A quiet day today to catch up with my reading and quite possibly some baking. I still have plants to go in the garden but I think they'd prefer it if I waited for cooler conditions.

Hello to you, Dunworking!

Best wishes Ash, see you soon.

Hi Bonnybanko, I had exactly the same pm too. Probably sent to quite a few on this site I imagine.

I hope people have reported him. He is a serial spammer on GN.

Marydoll

I hope people have reported him. He is a serial spammer on GN.

But nobody takes him seriously!
Clearly spam from the opening sentence- is anybody taken in?

Marydoll Sun 11-Aug-24 09:42:40

If he is reported, he will be blocked. That was the point I was making.
I appreciate that he will come back with a new user name, but let's not make it easy for him.

Unfortunately, not everyone is astute as you, Maw.

Good morning from a sunny NE.
I was planning on a quiet day but had a message from my sister as soon as I woke up, she says she needs to talk to me on the phone. The last time she said that I was on the phone for 2.5 hours.
DD sent lovely photos from their holiday hotel, their room has it's own swimming pool. She is a workaholic, takes after her father, so glad she is letting her hair down.
Thinking of Ashcombe and others with troubles.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Arrived home last night from the south and very tired after the days of all go, but so worth it for the lovely time I had with DD and seeing other family members.

Message yesterday to say my MOT ran out on the 10th, so I am shamed today into cleaning out my car in preparation. Apart from that I haven’t the energy for much else.

It was so nice to be greeted by my cat (joint ownership with neighbour) and she was very loving and spent the evening stretched out purring on my lap.
Glad your health has stabilised Mick, thoughts to our own Ash💐and that scam is laughable 🙄🌺

I got that spam message too but couldn't see how to report or delete it.

Welcome Dunworking and maybe meet you in Glasgow.

I'm back from Skye and into sunshine 🌞 The greenhouse is full of cucumbers 🥒 too. I just gave one away.

Sorry to hear you are feeling low Ash and hope you'll soon be back.

Good afternoon,

It’s a lovely, sunny afternoon so we’ve decided to eat al fresco in a little while. I’ve set everything up, the salad, etc is prepped, so will start cooking in about half an hour. It’s not often we get the chance to eat outdoors as it either starts to rain or gets too breezy.

We didn’t get the downpour you got yesterday, greyduster, just a very brief spot which came to nought, despite the darkening sky. We’re not so very far from you, but that’s the nature of showers, I suppose.

I’m sorry to read that Ash is struggling at the moment, and send her my very best wishes 💐.

I hope that you are all managing to enjoy this pleasant afternoon. I think tomorrow is going to be too hot for me, so will make the most of what we have today.
