Good morning from a grey Bristol. I did see about 14 balloons drifting this way after I posted yesterday.
I have pm-ed Ash, who is ok but inexplicably struggling emotionally atm, finding it difficult to be positive. She’ll be back but not yet and she thanks you for all your kind comments.
The attendees enjoyed my baking at yesterday’s church coffee, some even went off with the leftovers; I did leave some pb cookies for today, keeping some back for the DGDs.
Today, apart from getting toys out for children during the service (and putting them away again), I’ve got nothing happening. Sewing? Olympics? The day is mine!

Good morning from Malta. It’s still very hot here.

Had rather a lazy day yesterday but finally managed to get the spare room habitable and the bed made up for my friend who will be visiting soon. I also washed loads of dog blankets which were rather smelly.

This morning I’m walking up to the village to meet a friend for an iced coffee, then I’ll go to Mass and afterwards have my usual FaceTime chat with my friend in Leicester.

I’m so sorry Ash is feeling unable to post and hope she will soon be back with us. Sending hugs if you’re reading this Ash.

Hope you all have a good Sunday.☀️

Good morning from s somerset, it is going to be hot and sunny today

The heat is going to come early so I am staying quietly put today, no exercise outside or I will stay hot all day. I need to dress appropriately and just glide around

I have finished all my winter clothes prep, used up two chunky lengths of fleece backed fabric from stash and made two pairs of trousers and a warm top. These will be the ultimate warmers for me, easy to wear too. I did thoroughly enjoy making them

I want to slowly tidy and clean my sewing room and generally potter today, including reading and some tv. Generally just easy, relaxing and restful stuff. I made some nice eating bars last night, so I even have a nice snack for after lunch

Have a good day

Good morning all from a dry and brightening Sunday on the north Wales coast 👋 oh this weather so suits me 🤗

Sad to read about Ash and hope it’s not long before she returns to the fold!

I have a busy week ahead as tomorrow my friend and I are frittering our bingo winnings on an another jolly…Cardiff for a couple of nights!

Tuesday, it will be St Fagan’s and the Millennium Centre for culcha then some 🍹🍸and curry, followed by shopping and a boozy brunch on Wednesday before 😴 on the train home! Wot a disgrace we are 😂

Will pop back later to see who can match us…..😉

Good morning, clear skies here in south Glos and a warm day ahead.
After walking the dog yesterday I got the ironing out of the way before I did an hour’s gardening, cutting back the geraniums, deadheading the roses (which are wonderful this year) and enjoying being outside.
I did a couple of hours of needlework, slow going but enjoying it, and listened to podcasts.
Today more of the same I think!
Life’s very quiet here 🌹

Good morning from a rainy Cornwall. Watched the town carnival as it passed beneath my window last evening, lots of noisy fun.

karmalady, a cottage in the woods would be lovely! Ash if you're reading this, take heart. You are loved.

I've enjoyed the Olympics, what an amazing event, and today I'll watch the closing ceremony, probably as eclectic as the opening one. Vive la France! 😄 I've spent many hours being entertained in French homes, love the people and their country, but their sense of fun is très different from ours! 😄

Good morning from mid Essex, where it’s sunny and warm. It’s going to be hot later so will go for my usual walk early. I’ll potter in the garden until it gets too hot for me. I used to be able to be out in the sun all day, but don’t cope with the heat as well now. pantglas enjoy spending your bingo winnings, the winnings from our village bingo sessions might buy a cup of coffee, but it’s good fun!
I hope ash feels able to return soon, sending good wishes.
Last day of the Olympics today, I’ve loved watching them, now will look forward to the Paralympics starting soon.
Have a good day everyone.

We’ve a busy day ahead, a face time call with DS first thing this morning then DD1 and the DCG are coming for the afternoon and evening. We might set the garden table up and all eat outside if it’s warm enough and the wind has dropped
Have a great time in Cardiff Pantglas and enjoy spending your winnings!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. A quiet day with a phone call to DB and a visit to DD’s cat.
Ash flowers
Best wishes

Morning all from a warm ish West Oxfordshire.

Today will mainly consist of preparing a barbecue, eating it all up and clearing up! Elder son went mad in Waitrose yesterday and bought lots of yummy things.

His partner will be back in time for lunch. Our daughter is here for just one night. They will all go back to London this evening. Then tomorrow, younger son will come for a few days. It’s his birthday on Tuesday. Finally, elder son and his family will be back on Thursday. Phew:

Have a good day everyone. I hope the Olympic Closing Ceremony is better planned than the Opening Ceremony! And have better weather!

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 11-Aug-24 07:30:48

Ash🌹

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a bright South Yorkshire. It’s going to be a hot one! Good to hear you’re feeling ok Mick.
We had a sudden torrential rain storm yesterday afternoon but it dried up in time for our BBQ which went really well. It was such a joy to have DD and the boys back from their holiday - they seemed to be away forever. They downloaded all their photos onto my laptop so that I can go through them at my leisure, which I will do later today. Oddly, I really missed their guinea pig this morning when I got up, waiting for his breakfast! But no, I wouldn’t want one as a permanent house guest! He’s very high maintenance!
Ash we shall all be keeping you in our thoughts. Come back soon, feeling well.
Not sure what’s on the cards today - depends on how hot it gets. There’s gardening to do - but then there’s always gardening to do!
Have the best day you can folks.

Grandmabatty Sun 11-Aug-24 07:33:31

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and cloudy. I think it should brighten up later.
Ash all my very best to you. I hope you feel better about life soon. Bonnybanko I received that message too. It was deleted and I didn't bother to read it.
Yesterday I caught up with my friend. We enjoyed our breakfast and also enjoyed a blether about the riots and Trump etc. If only we were in charge! 😂
Today I'll get to Aldi. I might drop off toys at the hospice charity shop as they are filling my car boot. Later I will visit mum. I might watch the closing ceremony too. I'll have an early night because of an early start tomorrow and I was awake for a couple of hours last night. Have a good day all.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 11-Aug-24 07:51:05

Morning everyone 🙋‍♀️

I had an extremely busy break with DD and her boys, hurtling down watersides, fairground rides, go-carting, shows along with walking miles. The 9yr old and The Imp reckon it’s their best ever holiday.

I need a holiday to recover 🤣🤣🤣

There is no way I can catch up with all your news, but hope you are all well.

(((Hugs))) Ashcombe

Wishing you all a sunny Sunday 🙋‍♀️👍🏻

Another gloriously sunny Suffolk morning after a rather cloudy but humid day yesterday. DS and tribe were going to come for lunch today but after a sickness bug has travelled through all of them over the last 10 days or so,we decided to leave it til next week. We didn’t want to be victims 6&7.

After a dog walk soon it will be a day of quiet and peace. We have plans to confirm with DD1 about their visit soon. They will probably leave DGD4 here for a few days by herself. Her older siblings have had lots to do over their holiday and we felt that DGD4 would like some time on her own being spoilt.

She is a lively non stop chatty 12 year old and an animal lover so is easy to entertain.

Hope all have a good day and Ash feels better soon.

Dunworking Sun 11-Aug-24 08:14:23

Good morning from a fairly bright Glasgow.
I’ve been a reader/ lurker since the scary days of covid but unfortunately not generally an early enough riser to post ( who knew there was a 6 o’clock in the morning as well! 😜)
I’m up earlier today as been asked to cover a coffee making stint at church. A bit gutted though as it means I’ll miss all the chat ( gossip) going on at the tables! Oh well….at least I’m upping my chances of going to heaven! 😂
Enjoy ur day whatever u are doing .

monk08 Sun 11-Aug-24 08:18:16

Good morning all from an overcast Black country should be warmer later.
Roast lamb for dinner, a read of my new book and the closing ceremony of the Olympics that's my day.
Ash 💐
Have a great day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

monk08 Sun 11-Aug-24 08:20:22

Welcome Dunworking👋.

Georgesgran Sun 11-Aug-24 08:27:02

Good morning from Durham. It’s going to be hot, with wall to wall sunshine today - at last!
I’m heading to M&S at opening time for goodies, as I’m having a couple of hours with the DDs and DGSs later. I’ll take DD2’s laundry back and may end up bringing her Little Dog home with me - long story, but it saves a 50 mile drive for him tomorrow.
Sorry to read about Ash 💐
I’ve also had the kind offer from Rev Chris today BB, not for the first time either.
Best wishes to all. X

GrannySomerset Sun 11-Aug-24 08:27:39

Feels sticky already so the promised brief heatwave is here already. Church and Sunday papers today’s plan so not a lot to look forward to and I sympathise with Ashcombe - not easy to be positive sometimes. Let’s hope tomorrow feels better.

Good morning from a cloudy but warm East Midlands. A day of baking for me.
