Anyone else have an all singing all dancing vacuum....

I have a shark detect pro. I wouldn't recommend it. DH bought it after sering it advertised on TV. It picks up really well, but I have one rug with longish pile that blocks up the suction hole. It's a self emptying gadget. I'm not keen, I prefer my old Bosch cylinder vacuum.

Just realised that though I don't have names for our robot vacuums I do refer to two of them as "he".

"I've sent him home as the kitchen was already clean". "Could you get him hoovering before you leave the house please?"

We have one upstairs that is self-emptying and that one has a male voice (selected when we set "him" up).

I have a stick vacuum with several attachments, two of which I use. Even though a supposedly high end make it does not compare to my upright cleaner (with attachments). When I use the stick the amount of stuff to be emptied is is nothing compared to that in the upright. I now just use the stick for very small, light cleaning up eg crumbs. I also have a handheld vacuum and use this for cleaning up inside the car.

We have a robot vacuum which seems happy to be let loose in the living room occasionally. We also have a corded vacuum which is heavy to use . We have a battery powered vacuum for upstairs and a battery powered one for downstairs which mops the floors as well . It’s brilliant and even cleans itself when it finishes. We also have a very good steam mop which is practically redundant since we got the lightweight vacuum mop.
We have a karcher window vac which my daughter uses on the shower cubicles too.
Last but not least we have a small hand help battery powered vacuum that is use to get cobwebs and dragon flies out of corners . These all belong to my DD not me

Using the Eufy, not buying the Eufy!

I have a Dyson V12 and a Eufy robot. Between them I can keep a largish house dust free with next to no effort. I absolutely love them. In the old days of my corded Dyson it took 40 minutes of hard labour to clean upstairs and down. The cordless cut that to 20 minutes. Buying the Eufy takes me no time at all but I do perhaps 5-10 minutes of stairs and corners per week which takes no time or effort at all, comparatively speaking.

I have an oldish house which gets very dusty. Emptying the machines which are full of dust with no outlay of elbow grease on my part is very satisfying.

I bought my DS a robot vacuum and mop for his Xmas (at his request) he’s named it rufus and he loves it. Keeps telling me I should buy one for my house.

I've always had upright vacs but after using Miele Cat and dog vac elsewhere have splashed out and bought one.Yes it has a cord and bags but so far it's far superior to any vac I've ever had and surprisingly easy to move around.I have a cordless Hoover for a quick tidy up but actually don't like it.Seems to always need charging or brushes intangling.And the last Dyson products we had - two dust busters - didn't seem to last two minutes.

We have a Henry for a good all over clean and a Dyson cordless for a swift hover round and upstairs. Both are good, but Henry is the best.

I have just treated myself to a cordless vacuum coming tomorrow I was fedup carting Henry up the stairs so heavy so he will rmain upstairs in landing cupboard for cleaning bedrooms. Hooray

That’s amazing, Notspaghettit. I better not search the internet for it as I am a sucker for gadgets especially for cleaning. I always think they will turn me into superwoman with a pristine home, but they never do.
On another note I seem to go through hoovers at a ridiculous rate. Was a Dyson fan but the thought Shark superior but not been happy with them recently. I have a Hoover downstairs and a vax upstairs. I do have a eufy (robot) which is good but which I can only use in the hall and kitchen diner as it has a ‘thing’ with the stand on the lounger chair. (Think overly friendly dogs!)

I've a robot cleaner, and I find it good.

It's a cheap one, but it keeps things down to a respectable level.

Some even plumb in so you don't need to wash the mop as they do it themselves.

I just discovered that there is a robot cleaner that not only vacuums it akdo mops with wet cleaner, empties itself of dust and dirty water and replenishes itself. Perfect if yiu have a large house with laminated floors. I don't so it wouldn't be any use to me. I have no idea how much it costs to buy or to run.

I have a few good vacuum cleaners, ranging from elderly and efficient roomba, which takes its time to clean a room.

A very powerful heavy sebo upright in my garage, I could not lift that one easily but it does a fab job in my garage and I was never going to get rid of it

I have a dyson detect absolute, which is my go-to, I keep it on a stand in my hall and love using it when daylight has gone. I have quickstep flooring and can see all the fluff when I use that dyson, I cannot see the fluff until the special light is on. Makes me appreciate not having carpets

Last but very useful in winter is my little henry, hidden behind the sofa. I use it to clean the stove and surroundings after the ashes are emptied and the stove and surroundings are cold

whoops I have another one, a miele which I keep in the spare bedroom, it is perfect for cleaning my sewing machines and sewing room and for taking the air out of vacuum storage bags

Next time I move/downsize, I really will make a choice and would keep roomba and dyson which has a lot of accessories

Following recommendations on here, I got a Gtech cordless for upstairs to replace bagged one that died. It is pricey but I got it on an offer (old stock). I am very pleased with it as the charge lasts a decent amount of time. It has a rotating brush too which is a new feature. The canister is easy to empty/clean. It is so light I now bring downstairs and the heavy Nilfisk is not used as much. It has no attachments so no nozzle for getting into edges etc. I have a cheap handheld thing but very poor power so looking out for something to replace. Dragging the Nilfisk out to car is a nuisance.

We have a Dyson top of the range rechargeable cleaner. It has a green light and does a wonderful job on our hard floors. DH is so enthusiastic he also cleans the mattresses with it.
I use a Dyson Robot which we’ve had a few years. Between them the house has never been cleaner.
I’m always surprised at the amount of dust and fluff that two people generate especially in our bedroom.
