Good Morning Everyone,
Up a little earlier than normal , anyway still dark but its dry outside .
Today my regular routine changes , I am going on a coach trip to Weymouth which requires an early start due to the travelling as well .
I plan to get a fried breakfast on arrival in Weymouth , which should keep me going for the period there which by coach trip is about 4 hours stay , and then a long journey back .
I addition my TV id now back to normal , whilst out someone from homes I live in did it so all TV channels back after a redoing of a 1st instalment .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Durham. It’s dry and bright here. A message from DD2 to say she’ll bring DGS2 here later, while his Daddy is at the first home game of the season. Howay the Lads!
Saves me a journey, but I’ll need to nip to M&S for some goodies for him. He loves fruit, but I don’t eat any, so never buy it.
👋🏻Ash
Best wishes to all. X

Morning from a sunny S Hants, yesterday was glorious. Good to see you back Ash and I’m pleased you have an explanation for your ups and downs 🌻
Some gardening yesterday, I wish the tomatoes would ripen, pub last night where we sat outside.
Newspaper today and engagement party tonight for my son, we won’t be late.
Enjoy Weymouth Mick.

Good morning everyone, I was glad to see your post this morning Ashcombe, you were missed. flowers

I had my hair cut yesterday into a slightly shorter style because of the heat, an early morning trip to the bathroom makes me think it might have been a bit too short. Oh well, it will grow again ….eventually.

GrannySomerset Sat 17-Aug-24 08:11:24

So good to see Ash back, hope life improves for her; have awoken to a cloudless sky so think a quiet day is called for. My printer was sorted yesterday plus a couple of minor computer glitches so I can get on with several tasks which are overdue. We are very fortunate in having good specialist skills locally - not cheap but a life saver for those who don’t have local family help. Hope Marydoll feels better as the day wears on.

Morning everyone from a bright warm S E Essex 🙋‍♀️

I have a very long shopping list, although I really do not want to venture to the big Sainsbury’s (I have been putting off going there for weeks) I will get what I can locally and make the effort next week 🤣

Pleased to see you back Ashcombe

Enjoy your days out Mick and Mizuna

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️

Good morning all and welcome back Ash. We did miss you 👋.

Warm and sunny again. It seems as the day wears on, it gets hotter and hotter. We sat outside with our friends at the pub and had to put the parasols up.

Not sure what today will bring. Dh and ds1 will find a footie match. They prefer local teams now. They gave up on Southend United. Fair weather supporters. .

Dd and little DGD might come over and we’ll go somewhere .
We’ll see.
Dd phoned yesterday with sad news of an old friend of hers had taken his own life. I worked with his mum for a few years . Such a lovely family. So sad! 😢. This is happening far too often with young people.

Hope Marydoll feels better as the day goes on.
Potty training Bellasnanna and Grandmabatty . 😫. I remember with our twin boys , very challenging.

Take care and enjoy the day. 🌸

Gingster Sat 17-Aug-24 08:39:25

GG it’s best to go to the big Sainsbury as early as you can. Otherwise it gets too busy. I always put it off until I can’t any longer. 🙄

glammagran Sat 17-Aug-24 08:47:04

Good morning all from hazy Wiltshire.

DD2 and the GC’s came round for a while in the afternoon. We put up a low net and they were practicing hitting balls over with short lightweight racquets. Too well as they each hit a ball into a neighbour’s garden. They were so loud. I wanted to lie in a darkened room when they’d gone.

Today DD2 and about 10 of her friends are going for her hen do overnight somewhere. She doesn’t know where she is going atm as it’s a surprise. She stipulated “no clubs, no pubs, no cities”. DD1 was horrified at how tame it sounded. I went to hers 20 years ago and that was a large contingent descending on Royal Ascot followed by dinner in Windsor.

Hope to sit in the garden later and read. Chilli for dinner.

Glad to see you’ve returned Ash. 💐 Enjoy Saturday wherever you are.

harrigran Sat 17-Aug-24 08:48:31

Good morning from a sunny NE but I am guessing it is cool as the heating is on again.
Quiet day for me as the family are having lunch with my sister but they will call in this evening.
Welcome back Ashcombe 💐
Holiday is over for DD today, she will drive back to Aix-en-Provence return hire car and get the train back to Brussels. I have not had much contact, storms had caused power land WiFi loss.
Have a good day.

JudyBloom Sat 17-Aug-24 08:49:23

Good Morning Michael and everyone, enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.

Grannydaisy1 Sat 17-Aug-24 08:53:27

Don't post a lot but lovely to see Ash back this morning. I do worry when the regulars have a break

hollysteers Sat 17-Aug-24 09:03:31

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Received an actual letter from the hospital today re my abscess/shredded tooth surgery following the failed extraction. It just said I had been referred. Such a long time since this kicked off. It’s just a slight ache at the moment, so hope it doesn’t flare up again in the meantime.

Ordered contact lenses and did a ‘big’ shop in ‘big’ supermarkets. Hate them even though they are value for money. I prefer picking up bits and pieces as I go along.
Then sat in the garden making phone calls and reading. Doing necessary things in the garden doesn’t seem like a chore. I do wish our summers were longer, this weather is just right.

Friend arriving today for overnight stay as a break from packing up and moving house. I have cooked a chicken.
I’m feeding next door’s cat for a couple of weeks whilst they are away. She’s very shy, unlike her sister, who mainly lives here.

Have a nice day Mick, good to hear from you again Ash and thoughts to all.
Saw this in a loo in town yesterday and thought it a very good idea! (No, it’s not mine😁)

Stilllearning Sat 17-Aug-24 09:05:32

Good morning from the edge of South Lanarkshire. I go home today after my week’s dog sitting which I enjoyed even though poor wee dog is so ill. I was glad to help and DD really appreciated it. I have done so much childminding over the years for her sisters, it was good to help her.

Enjoy your day out Mick, there was a girl from Weymouth in the year above me in teacher training college (as it was called then, 60 years ago). It was in Edinburgh and residential and I remember being amazed by this confident young woman being so far away from home! Different world.

Glad you are on more of an even keel Ash, it’s a really rotten way to feel, I hope the worst is over for you.

Enjoy your weekends everybody, and may the sun shine on us for a little longer (some hope here!)

EkwaNimitee Sat 17-Aug-24 09:14:19

A late good morning to you Mick and everyone from a rather grey and damp Carlisle. I slept in a little this morning and have just returned from getting the paper. I like the actual paper on Saturday even though I read it online during the week as I like the puzzles.

Good to see you back Ash, I hope things will now be on the up for you.

I plan a quiet day of pottering after a more energetic one yesterday driving about on errands and then working in the garden. A long phone chat with my sister beckons so I'll get in a second breakfast beforehand.
Have a good weekend all of you.

grandMattie Sat 17-Aug-24 09:17:35

hollysteers your loo picture reminded me of one Christmas when I gave a whole load of virtual presents. I checked with ds2 about giving DD and chap AIDS testing kits. He looked puzzled and suggested that since neither of them actually had AIDS, they might be very offended! 😂

Ziplok Sat 17-Aug-24 09:24:01

Good morning,

It’s looking a bit grey outside just now after earlier sunshine. I hope it brightens up.

Hope you have a good day out Mick, and you, too greyduster - York is one of my favourite places to visit.

Ash it’s good to see you posting again, and so pleased you feel a corner has been turned. It’s been a lot for you to absorb, and I hope that the forum you’ve joined (and this one), will be a big support for you. 💐

A quiet day planned here, then going to friends this evening for a couple of hours. It will be nice to catch up as it’s a while since we were together.

Take care everyone.

Grammaretto Sat 17-Aug-24 09:27:59

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Cold here.
I have been outside collecting flowers for the coffee morning tables.

Thanks for the birthday greetings. I had a lovely day and today am venturing to the Edinburgh Fringe for a show and a meal with a couple of pals.

Lovely to have Ash back with us . Keep getting better!

Remind DGS of his proposal when he's older GMB that's so nice. grin

Enjoy your trips and travels one and all.
I've booked a train for an October weekend and am now worried about strikes and cancellations.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Litterpicker Sat 17-Aug-24 10:09:35

Good morning from coastal West Sussex. The sun is shining and the forecast is good - warm but not stiflingly hot.

As I posted a few days ago, I had a fall, backwards while coming down a ladder and hit the back of my head. I have now had a CT scan which showed an intracranial bleed. That was a shock 🤕. I had to stay in hospital for 24 hours and am now back home with instructions to take it easy. The doctor said that it should clear of its own accord so I am trying not to think of what happens if it doesn’t. Poor DH is having to do everything and keep an eye on me for another 24 hours. I have just read my leaflet again and I am not supposed to be using a computer or watching tv so you may not hear from me for a while.

Marydoll, hope you have a better night tonight 🌺

Ash, it’s good you have found out more about what is going on with you, and a support group - that should make a difference 🌺

Marydoll Sat 17-Aug-24 10:23:08

Litterpicker, I wondered how you were. Get well soon. 🥰

Grandmabatty Sat 17-Aug-24 10:48:07

Litter picker oh my goodness! I hope you are recovering well. Take it easy. 💐

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 17-Aug-24 11:53:45

Good morning from Co Armagh where the sun and the clouds are doing a bit of a game
Washing has been in and out , I think I’ll leave it in !
So sorry to read of all the poorly on here 💐

Ashcombe Sat 17-Aug-24 12:07:40

Thank you so much for the warm and generous comments which have induced happy tears!

Do take care, Litterpicker - it sounds like you mustn't indulge in anything too stimulating, including Gransnet! ❗️🙄 💐

Grammaretto Sat 17-Aug-24 12:27:56

Sorry to hear that Litterpicker I hope you make a speedy recovery.
