Beautiful, clever birds, and I love their range of sounds. They always look pristine. I love to watch them in their own environment, and on patrol in the fishing harbour near me.
By special request, let’s discuss our favourite Classic Music and why?
Oh wes.i want to glue their beaks shut
Beautiful, clever birds, and I love their range of sounds. They always look pristine. I love to watch them in their own environment, and on patrol in the fishing harbour near me.
Beautiful birds. I live inland but there are a lot where I live. I give them fish cat food some days, they love it.
I disagree totally Labradora they are a highly intelligent bird They are good parents who stay with their partner all their lives no divorces for them They are so clever they can fly all the way to the Atlantic and still find their way back to the very same chimney pot the following year We can’t find ourselves anywhere without a sat nav or map
We have overfished the ocean so they don’t have enough natural food to go around When I was a kid living by the seaside you mostly saw the gulls on the beach and following the little fishing, crabbing, shrimping boats but none of those exist now, so the gulls adapted and found that unlike when I was growing up and it was frowned on, nowadays it’s normal for every human to eat on the hoof morning, noon and night add to that the dirty ones who drop their food around or try to stuff it in overfull bins. Then the gulls cleverly found that as the larder of the sea was no longer appealing they could find human food on big landfill heaps again humans throwing away more than they use or eat
So my answer to you is stop eating food when out and about they are not bullies they are entrepreneurs learning how to live UNnaturally They are also all endangered even the ones that seem very common and around in their hundreds
We’ve made them that way, Labradora by taking away their source of food (fish) and replacing it with a different source (discarded food, bin bags, take aways) so we only have ourselves to blame.
Seriously we know they are beautiful birds and there are many varieties BUT they are a menace when you try to eat food if they are in the vicinity.
They can be terrible bullies both to people and to other birds. I used to live in a seaside town in the UK and in our local park , home to many seagulls, I watched two of them mercilessly harass and bully and eventually steal the food from one of the lovely local Herons.
Little feathered thugs they are.
I prefer the BBC adverts made by Aardman Studios; they ask ordinary people their opinions on programmes then make the animations to fit the chat.

The seagulls here are daft; if they sight any food around they call all their friends to come and share then get annoyed when they do!
BlueBelle
Love the gulls and yes we are the ones we humans are the ones who have muck up their lives and then hate them, and blame them . I totally agree Veejay
In I answer to those people who say you should look it up I had no idea from the title or couple of lines in the original post as to what on earth it was about to look up !!!
I had only the OP to guide me. That was all I needed to access the information.
It's quite a funny, cheerful advert.
Just what's needed sometimes to brighten the day. And I'm not really a fan of adverts.
I live on the seafront in a Northwest resort. They are a normal part of our lives although many locals hate them. I have one named Barney that regularly sits on the top of the lamppost outside our flat and as soon as I open the window floats about waiting for scraps. They are at their noisiest early morning but we're used to it.

I live near the seaside and I love to hear the gulls.they come into my garden and I feed them,as do lots of people
We the people are the reason they don't have enough natural food.
Seaside isn't seaside without seagulls
Chocolatelovinggran
I live in a seaside town. Seagulls are the sound of home to me.
Yes, I feel the same way.
Perhaps a link to the ads (YouTube) or at least some context.
I find it hard to get worked up over tv ads from 2 years ago though ( often the old ones are the best ones anyway- remember Maureen Lipman and an “ology” ?)
Not sure if any of you have recently seen the news/ vdeos of seagulls above the tip in Lancashire, there are 1,000s flying over the houses dropping rotting food in the gardens over cars and doing what seagulls do out if their rear end🙄 app it is because the waste people are coming in from out of town dumping their waste . It truly is like a scene from “ The birds”
Wes isn't a seagull, he's a pigeon from Peckham.
Sandy is a gull.
Why shouldn't we have to look it up? Some of us live a long way from SW Railways. A few light-hearted threads are a nice change from the grumping that goes on sometimes!
aldom we shouldn’t need to look it up. If it’s so obscure surely the original poster needs to make clear what they are having a moan about
So Georgesgran if it was an advertising campaign in 2922
(presume you mean2022 🤣) why is it worrying Whingey now or is it an ongoing advert !
So the original post is not about seagulls or dislike of them just about an annoying advert Got it now
Hilarious references to migration and one's perch.
You forget what product they're actually advertising.
They get diarrhea when they fly over my car, a lot of it. Some person on their flight path feeds them
Wesley Peck.
Sandy C Gull.
Yes - you got in before me Aldom
It’s an Advertising Campaign for SWRailways back in 2922.
Why not just look it up as I have done?
Whingey is talking about the advert on TV for South Western Railway.
The ad features two cartoon like birds (seagulls). If you watch the ad on YouTube then you'll understand the humour of the OP.
We were in the garden just yesterday and we both heard gulls.........we live 80 miles from the sea
Whingey
Yes south western railway. Ads on TV and radio. Wes says could say I'm wetting my beak and sandy says oh Wes

Me neither.
Who is Wes?
Who, is Sandy?
Whose beak?
Why?
As many on here know I m a great seagull lover no idea what Whingey is whinging about
Wes says could say I'm wetting my beak and sandy says oh Wes what the heck is this and what’s it about I don’t understand a word of your thread Whingey
The seagulls nest on my chimney and I bring the babies (that get abandoned up) they are only here nesting for a few months then (as now) they fly off to the Atlantic to migrate away from our winters They are fine, majestic very intelligent birds unlike some humans
