My current big gripe is motorists who don't indicate because there are no other cars about. However there are pedestrians who want to know what that car is about to do.

Maybe these people don't signal when there are other cars about - I don't know.

You are not whinging. You are using "assertive self disclosure".

There's no such thing as too whingy on this thread grin

You said it. There are some Olympic gold whingers on here.
Not that I'm whinging.winkgrin

My whinge is about the electric e-scooters which can be used around Oxford City and some surrounding areas. Most of the users ride like maniacs, weaving in and out of the traffic at speed, and wear no helmet. There must be many accidents involving them.

Gigantic cars. Honestly they are getting bigger. Tbh I don’t know why car owners don’t just drive a chieftain tank. They take up too much space in a car park and are environmentally unfriendly.

With you on that one Babs. Don't they realise that instead of looking flash or wealthy (or whatever their desired image is) they actually look silly, brash and entitled. As well as the environmental issue, they actually contribute to the pot hole situation and are far more likely to kill a pedestrian on impact. I refuse to give way for them if we meet in one of my city's many narrow roads. Only farmers, tradesmen or those who live up a remote mountain have any justification in owning one. Rant over.

These last few days my winge is Motorcyclists. They all seem to have a death wish. Weaving in and out of the traffic, overtaking on bends and May of them without protective clothing.

Posters who don’t bother to check the thread for updates from the original poster before posting! Why oh why do they do it 😫 ?

Middle lane hoggers on the motorway should have their licenses revoked. I would love to stop them all and ask them why they do it.

Donations of out of date food to food banks.

Adding to the lack of courtesy from drivers, whatever happened to a wave of thank you when you stop at a zebra crossing to let people cross. I know that you have to stop but, in the past, people would give a nod or a wave of acknowledgement. Some people still do but it's getting more and common to be ignored.

Mine are trivial moans compared with changing prices. But my whinge is drivers who are desperate to get into the parking space at the beach that you are vacating, and then don’t leave enough room for you to actually get out 🤦🏼‍♀️

Lixy, apart from bbqs, it’s a given that someone will start a lawn mower or drill as soon as you have lunch outside 😡

Get very grumpy about pedestrians walking two or three abreast who force you into the road because they can’t stop talking.

Think I’m a bit too whingy 🤣

I want to whinge about constant price changes.
How on earth is someone supposed to guess whether the price of energy[just one example] is supposed to go or down in the coming months?
And sign a contract of whoever many months, accordingly.

Also want to moan about the [lack] of postal service.
The nearby post boxes all have a pick up of 9am[presumingly that means that they can get emptied at any time of day].
And our postal service has gone from a delivery nearly any day, to who knows which days, quite frankly.

I could probably think of more moans. I am in that kind of mood! grin

My big whinge right now is about motorists. My DH always gives way for other cars to pass him in a narrow street whilst he pulls into the curb or allows cars into a queue of traffic when no one else will but hardly anybody raises a hand or flashes a light in thanx. Surely is common courtesy. Or used to be.

lixy Fri 30-Aug-24 19:27:22

I’m with you all the way on impenetrable packaging, though I do use a pair of scissors to break in rather than risking a knife!

I’m guaranteed to have a whinge when the barbecues start up especially if it’s lunchtime and the washing is still out on the line. Just really dislike the smell.
As you say AGAA4, small irritations but…!

AGAA4 Fri 30-Aug-24 15:20:11

Unanswerable questions*VPQ*. I was having a lovely walk in the sunshine this morning feeling good and stepped in some dog muck.
I went out for a little jaunt in the car and spent most of it sitting at temporary traffic lights that seemed to be all over the route I took.
Irritating things that just happen.

vampirequeen Fri 30-Aug-24 14:40:02

What gets you whinging?

Opening new toothbrushes. Why do the manufacturers feel the need to seal them to the card backing as if they're the Crown Jewel? I know they have to be kept clean for hygiene purposes but it's so OTT. I have to take a sharp knife to them. One of these days the knife will slip and I'll go into my fingers instead.

Ironing (and I know this is my fault). Why do I leave the ironing until it piles up and looks a mess for far longer than it takes me to actually iron it?

Toilet rolls. There are two toilet roll fairies in our flat. The female fairy changes the roll and puts the cardboard bit in the recycling bin. The male fairy also changes the roll but leaves the cardboard bit on the radiator. Later the female fairy finds it and puts it in the recycling bin. Why????? The recycling bin is in the kitchen which is next door to the bathroom.
