Good Morning Everyone,
Have woken to darkness outside but its dry at the moment here in brackley .
Start my usual routine with getting bus to Bicester ,and hopefully besides a small shop will meet others I know.
No cycling on TV today so plenty to do in my flat otherwise .
Health wise OK .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone from a warm and sunny Oxfordshire, no rain or thunder so far.
A very wet MissOops has just dropped off a sopping wet dog, they are only 6 miles away but get very different weather.
Lots going on here at the moment along with my still dodgy ear, nothing is helping so far.
Have a good day everybody, hope all the poorlies are getting better.

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
My photocopier is playing up and so my card making yesterday was curtailed. I’m not sure if it’s just replacing ink or something worse that’s needs attention…

Lunch on me with friend who turned 90 recently and has had ongoing celebrations for over a week. He’s very active, cheerful walks everywhere and is an inspiration. I’ll drive as he’s a bit hesitant on that score. After that, I’ll reluctantly do a ‘big’ shop as DD arrives from the south tonight and I’m running low.

My cat keeps miaowing and I don’t know what she wants, having been fed and watered. I wish she could speak (or maybe not…)
Sorry about your knee Ash and thoughts to all🌺

Good morning Mick and everyone from dull, damp Carlisle.
Yesterday was mostly grey but didn't rain until after dinner so I managed to get out in the garden. I put in one of my purchases and then took the secateurs to one of my shrub roses. It's growth habit is very unsatisfactory, it's extremely vigorous but has slender stems that can't support its weight even when not flowering. I hacked it back savagely last winter but it will have to go.
Today, I'm shortly off to town, I'm desperate for fresh veggies, the frozen peas I could get from the convenience store don't do it for me. I'd love to have a good food store in easy walking distance.
Back home, it will be the usual round of laundry and vacuuming then I will finish my book.

have the best possible day everyone.

Good morning from soggy South Lanarkshire.

I too had a very broken night like Grandmabatty and Marydoll but I don’t have to deal with children today. Good luck to you both.

Sorry your knee is bothering you still Ash.

I know of that café stilllearning, although I’ve never been. One of the lads who works there one day a week also volunteers in my former charity shop and coincidentally I also know the fairly new young manager. Speaking of community cafes Baggs and I tried to get a table in the one you and I go to in town when we met last week but there was a long queue.

Today we are meeting DH’s siblings for lunch which we haven’t done for a couple of months.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

GrannySomerset Mon 02-Sept-24 08:39:10

We seem to have missed the heavy rain so suspect I will still be lugging watering cans around later, but the garden looks distinctly autumnal and it feels as if summer proper has bypassed us. Gardener today and some planning for spring, and this evening a demonstration at flower club so a horticultural day.

Good morning and it’s another dull start here in Essex. The days improve and we usually have a sunny day.

Yesterday we picked lots of apples from my db’s large orchard. They were pleased to be relieved of some. It causes them a lot of work picking and clearing the fallen ones, and they’re getting old so lack the energy. I’ll freeze lots and hand some out to family and friends.

We had a family zoom get together last evening with brothers, neice and nephews. I wanted to see my db who recently had a heart bypass and we can’t get to see him in the flesh yet. He looked rather pale and wan but said he was improving every day. 🙏.

Today I’ll pick up my friend and we’ll go to the U3A meeting. We want to put our names down for a trip and we might stay for the talk. Lately they’ve been so boring and the speakers always go way over their 1 hour time schedule. 😴😴. This one is a chap from the BBC. 🤔.

Take care all and I hope those who are suffering, one way or another, have a ‘good’ day. 🌻

Good (?) morning from mid-Lancs. Typical Monday morning - it's pelting down in Biblical proportions, and then some......

Jaxjacky Mon 02-Sept-24 08:10:21

Morning from a humid S Hants, not as heavy as yesterday, we’ve had rain overnight. Both grandchildren visited yesterday, Imogen enjoyed her afternoon birthday tea, we had Finley here after his football match.
Back on the voluntary phone today, quiz tonight.
I hope that knee is just settling Ash. I need to find my gloves in preparation Blossoming, they’ll be in a ‘safe place’.

Good morning everyone from a very dull Severnside. It’s raining and looking like we are in for a miserable day.

Over the weekend I got a few diy jobs done or started on. I thought I’d better make the effort as I want them done before winter.
I picked a lot of tomatoes from the greenhouse that had been ripening off while I was away from home. Beechnutella took me to a French restaurant for lunch in the Westbury/Henleaze part of Bristol and then we went on to stay in a luxury glamping cabin. Finishing off with a walk and cream tea on the last day.
Not sure what I’ll get up to today but it won’t be mischief.

Have a good day all 🌺

Liberty Mon 02-Sept-24 08:01:30

Good morning from sunny Suffolk with no sign of rain, cloud or storms, all of which featured in the forecast last night.

DS and family are coming today as both parents have the day off and they spent yesterday putting together a new bed for DGD3.

Apart from their visit,I have the new RSV jab about which I know little but we both take anything offered. Not only do these vaccines protect us but also others we have contact with so it always seems the sensible thing to do.

Hope those suffering with worries or ill health find some comfort today.

harrigran Mon 02-Sept-24 07:52:35

Good morning from a damp and misty NE.
Yesterday it rained all day but luckily was only outside for a few minutes.
We went to a restaurant for lunch, it is GD2's 15th birthday today. We all had something different to eat and drink, some very interesting dishes. I had sea bass which was delicious and a much lighter meal than the meat dishes.
Back at home we had coffee and birthday cake, one was gluten free and the other dairy free. Both cakes were delicious.
DD is travelling home to Brussels today. She will be back in London next weekend for more of the Proms.
Lazy day for me today.

Grannyme6 Mon 02-Sept-24 07:46:34

Good morning from the south coast where we are staying for a few days. The weather was fine at the weekend for the Bournemouth Air Festival but it’s pouring with rain now. We’re meeting old neighbours for coffee this morning so will be good to catch up. Wishing everyone a gentle day.

Stilllearning Mon 02-Sept-24 07:39:28

Morning from South Lanarkshire where the thunder was last night Grandmabatty! It woke me up, don’t know what time, I went straight back to sleep. Without my hearing aids my hearing is really poor now so it must have been right overhead!

Chair yoga this morning followed by lunch with my neighbour who gives me a lift. We go to a community cafe on the outskirts of our town which is quite excellent.

Afterwards I’ll get organised for my trip to Connel tomorrow, bus to Glasgow, simple change in the bus station and then a lovely three hour journey through beautiful scenery, I really enjoy it. Creature of habbit, I have my coffee and scone as we drive alongside Loch Lomond😊
Unfortunately I can only stay till Friday so I’ll need to make do with the evenings with my DGC, I hope they don’t have too much homework to do!

I’m sorry that you’re not getting the full benefit yet from your injection Ash, I do hope that improves.

Best wishes to everyone for a good day. My thoughts very much with *Kalu’ this week.

BlueSapphire Mon 02-Sept-24 07:36:51

Good morning everyone from a grey and overcast Northampton, rain showers forecast later.

Picked up my book (Queen's Gambit) yesterday at Smith's in town. It's our November book club read, so I am getting well ahead of myself!
Had a wander around the shops and bought a few odds and ends from Primark's home department. They had some nice autumn themed items. Had some time before my bus home, so went into an up-market bar and had a G and T!
Spent a pleasant sunny and warm afternoon reading in the garden.

Yoga first thing, and then we are thinking of trying a new cafe for coffee afterwards.

Will catch up with a few jobs when I get home, then more reading.

Have a peaceful Monday everyone.

grandMattie Mon 02-Sept-24 07:36:06

I’m sorry you feel so unwell today, MD. I hope you feel ok for babyD today. 🫂

luluaugust Mon 02-Sept-24 07:33:14

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Cleaner coming this morning and then a U3A meeting this afternoon, we are supposed to be suggesting places to visit locally but we have done most of the accessible places so I will be interested to see what is suggested.
Hope the knee eases Ash and you feel better Greyduster

Marydoll Mon 02-Sept-24 07:32:48

Good morning all from a rainy Glasgow, where it is 13°C.

I have woken with a dreadful headache after a broken night.

We unexpectedly have BabyD today, thankfully DH has just told me that golf has been cancelled. I am so relieved, I was worried about being well enough to look after her.

Have a good day folks.

monk08 Mon 02-Sept-24 07:31:52

Good morning all from a dull Black country where we have that very fine rain.
No plans other than a bit of housework and I have a few pages of my book to finish.
Have a good day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️

Mizuna Mon 02-Sept-24 07:26:44

Good morning from a very drizzly Cornwall; actually more mizzle than drizzle which seems to make you damp without it being obvious at first. Last evening I attempted over the phone to talk my youngest son through tuning his guitar which has one broken tuning peg so he was having to tune every string so low that it sounded like a lion being murdered. I'd like to buy him a better guitar when I have the funds.

Today I have paperwork to do which I'm putting off simply because I'm out of the habit of dealing with paper. Also I must sort my paints which are in a muddle, as my granddaughter is returning on Wednesday and I like her to have a good assortment to choose from. Also I have a terracotta coloured throw to collect from Argos inside Sainsbury's, up a very steep hill which will be a good test for my new knee. 😄

GrannyGravy13 Mon 02-Sept-24 07:22:13

Morning everyone, I have The Imp & 9yr old today, if the weather stays dry we will
go to the beach.

Hopefully read all your posts sometime during the day 🤣

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️

cornergran Mon 02-Sept-24 07:20:26

Morning Mick, morning All from an overcast corner of Somerset.

A few showers yesterday, no storms thankfully. We need to offload the contents of the car at the recycling centre. Hope it stays dry for that. A tin of emulsion to pick up then a restorative coffee. My guess it will be lunch time by then, no idea about this afternoon other than nothing requiring energy.

The underlying worry about our friend has ramped up again. The combined might of the hospital discharge team and social services are unable to locate a Home with space able to meet her now complex needs. Her daughter is distraught and exhausted from following leads to nowhere.

Take it easy today greyduster, these things wipe us out. I’m so sorry your knee is painful again ash, can only but hope it’s a blip.

Have the best day you can everyone.

brook2704 Mon 02-Sept-24 07:15:43

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and drizzly
Good luck to all the DGC going back to school this week, my two in Cambridge are back on Wednesday after a non stop summer of activities! It seems ages ago that they were up here with us
I’m off into town later for a bit of shopping and to return some flooring samples that DD2 borrowed over the weekend. Nothing much else planned but I’ve lots of things to get on with to keep me busy
Blossoming good to see you back 💐
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings

Redcar Mon 02-Sept-24 07:08:58

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s bright here, broken cloud and 18 degrees according to my garden thermometer.
May go to Hyde Hall gardens this morning, not sure how busy it will be, it’s the last day of school holidays today.
dd2 called in yesterday afternoon on their way home from a weekend in Suffolk. They had a good weekend and met up with Dd1 and her family who were glamping nearby.
I hope you all have the best day possible.

kittylester Mon 02-Sept-24 07:06:45

Good morning all from a damp and misty North Leicestershire.

I have a kidney scan this morning and need to do a trip to Tesco to deposit plastic bags in their recycling.

Other than that, lots of bitting and bobbing.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 02-Sept-24 07:04:44

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I met my difficult friend for lunch yesterday. She complained to the waiter about the pink beef (its supposed to be pink!) but loved her pudding.

I will be doing my usual Waitrose shop. OH has bee things to do. They have produced loads more honey - he still has about 60 jars already.

Have a good day. It definitely feels autumnal. We had a tremendous hailstorm yesterday. At least OH had cut the lawns!
