Looking after grandchildren is a dangerous business, BabyD had a spell of nipping us, she soon leaned it was a no,no, No is her favourite word at the moment! Mine is YES!😉

We had a lovely day out to a very wet and misty Loch Lomond yesterday and then cut across to Helensburgh for Spanish tapas.
It was lovely and quiet, now that the schools are back.
DD popped in after work, to ask advice from DH about her redundancy. I never heard the doorbell , I of course had fallen asleep after my trip,

I have a much needed hairdresser's appointment today and Safeguarding admin to do.
Also, Disclosure Scotland have changed things again and I have a presentation to watch about the changes. Understandably, they are very rigorous about how we do things.

Morning from a sunny S Hants, I’ll enjoy it as the next two days look dire.
My daughter has just sent a picture of our grandson ready for his first day at seniors, 11 years old, age 14/15 uniform, he’s a tall lad, I wish all those setting forth a good first day.
Yesterday I had a long chat with a good friend and sorted out an issue with Imogen’s bus pass, some tedious housework was done too. Today I need to start filling up the garden bin, shades of brown and gold are replacing pinks, yellows and purples.

Good morning it’s dull,and overcast again here, hopefully the sun will appear later, no rain for some time here.

We have the dog for another day as MissOops Is helping Nephew to move out, I dread to think how she is coping as her hands are so bad, hopefully she is just doing the driving.

Nothing planned today, but I have another load of cooking apples to peel from the tree, I need to find space in the freezer for them though, I’m trying to eat from the freezer this week to make room.

Marydoll aw, lovely. Apart from my dreadful spelling of french, it is exactly as I remembered it. I have no idea why I sang it in the car. Possibly to drown out the incessant moaning from the five year old back seat driver 😂. But it took his fancy and I had to sing it repeatedly so he could learn it. How to take the joy out of it! Grammaretto my dad played the accordion beautifully. I have such fond memories of him playing away.

GM, my go to song to shut up Dollie and BabyD is Frère Jacques (Dormez-vous? ). Sends them to sleep every time. I don't even like the song.😂

I'm now reminiscing about all the songs I taught my pupils over the years. We had an annual French day in my school and I used to clear the shelves in Lidl of croissants!
My pièce de résistance was Mamma Mia sung in French. The parents loved it and joined in.

Good morning Mick and everyone from currently sunny Carlisle.
A bit of laundry and a thorough vacuuming yesterday then it was out in the garden, moving items about and putting a new plant in. There are still one or two gaps in my gravel garden but I shall wait for new stock in the spring. One newish plant in it has been rapidly and thoroughly destroyed by slugs, they are rampant this year, not surprisingly.

Today, a good clean in the kitchen followed by admin and hopefully a walk in the park after lunch. Then we'll see...

Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast.
The music club went well yesterday, but a small turnout. My voice was ok for my songs, but in the evening my cough worsened and I feel it is on my chest now.
Had mince with DD in the evening, she did a great job of clearing lots of stuff from the garage while I was out with a trip to the tip, it’s a big improvement and I’m very grateful.

She is out with friends tonight and I have an over cooked chicken to myself.

Good morning from Durham. There’s been rain overnight. Yesterday was a mixed day - in the morning my friend and I, fed up with this so-called Summer, booked a week in Cyprus - we go on Saturday! In the afternoon, I took DD2’s car to Kwikfit (pre-booked) only to be told they didn’t have the right size tyres. A wasted 50 miles, up and down the Western bypass which is to be repeated this afternoon, as I’m assured the tyres will be available.
I did pop in and see DGS1 after his first day in year 2 - he loved it, which was a relief. After today’s trip up there, I’ll call and see DGS2. No nursery today. I’m rounding off the days by walking DD2’s Little Dog before dark.
Good advice from MaryD Mick to stay at home today.
Must fly, coffee with a friend this morning.

Good morning from the NE where we had overnight rain.
Yesterday's appointment with the GP was a fiasco. I only got to see him more than an hour after my appointment time.
He was brusque and asked me what I wanted from him as " you never come to the surgery ", hmm I wonder why ?
I did get the results from last week's bloods, all good there.
He suggested my pains and cracking jaw may be polymyalgia but can't be diagnosed unless I take the steroids. Side effects probably outweigh the benefits so will wait.
I had more bloods taken and had an ECG and am being referred to cardiology after mutterings of ischaemia possibly.
SIL is coming today and we will go shopping. I will be shopping for Saturdays dinner, last one at mine before GD1 goes off to university, she asked me to make her favourite dish mince and dumplings.
GD2 is back to school tomorrow after a full and interesting summer.

Good morning all from a rainy Angus coast. I shall get in the car - not to escape the rain as it's just as wet in Dundee - and take a pair of trousers back to M&S. I know we all shrink a little in old age, but always thought that was due to the compression of the discs in our spines. But according to M&S the bones in my legs have shrunk too. Not only that but they change their length so that sometimes they're short and sometimes even petite! (Petite! Moi?). Anyway, a good excuse for a trip down the road.
It's DS1's 57th birthday today. That's ridiculous! From a little 6lb 1oz scrap into a 6ft 4in giant in no time at all it seems - quite takes my breath away. It's enough to make me feel old.
I'm sorry - I haven't read any posts yet so can't comment. But I hope the sun is shining where you are and aches and pains in heart and body are few. Have a good day all x

I shall be hearing “Il est ne” in my head all day now! Other than that I do have singing this afternoon so maybe something else will dislodge it. Talk on Vindolanda this evening which will be interesting; I last visited in 1982 so there is much, much more to learn about.

Good morning from Edinburgh where the sun is shining from a clear blue sky, just beautiful.

The DGDs and I had a leisurely walk to school where I dropped the eldest then took the other little one to the attached nursery where she showed me around before I left. It’s a new nursery for her starting this term, she has settled in wonderfully well.

I’m now enjoying coffee and a croissant in a cafe then I think I’ll have a little wander before walking back to their house where I’ll have the day to myself before pick up time.

A later good morning from a brighter Northampton, a dry day forecast, so the towels are about to go on the line, and the bedding is in the machine.

Had a good walk yesterday with the group, despite the heavy drizzle, followed by lovely lemon drizzle (very appropriate!) cake.and coffee.

Not much else done the rest of the day, except reading my book, which I am finding increasingly difficult to put down.

May go to the well-being cafe after lunch as I haven't been for a few weeks.

Good morning from sunny south Glos, I’ve just dropped the O2 monitor back to the hospital, having collected it yesterday morning. I was out by just after 7.
I’ve made a coffee and toast so I will enjoy those before I spend the morning planting many bulbs.
There’s ironing to be done but I’m ignoring it!
The DGCs have gone back to school, older one starting senior school. I have a lovely photo of them in their uniforms, two handsome boys 😍

Well past morning but popping in to wish all the new starters well. School has been in for a couple of weeks here in Scotland but the uniforms still managing to look new,
Reading the posts has reminded me to order spring bulbs. Hard to think of spring when it seems as if summer has passed by here.
I think of you when I am watching the tennis Bellasnana. It is on at such awkward times but I do enjoy it.
