Good morning from South Lanarkshire where I am in residence for an overnight before leaving later on for a few days in Skipton with my two sisters and brothers in law. I’m heading over to DD2 later in the day as it’s easier to pick me up from there in the morning.

It’s nice to see FriedGreenTomatoes posting and I send best wishes for your Golden Wedding tomorrow!

Lovely happy picture Ash and*Mizuna*, great to hear about your day together.

Litterpicker, you are a woman of resolve! You’re doing all the things I plan to but never get round to! Well done you, I hope your health keeps improving.

I was rather proud of DGS1 yesterday when, before I left,I tried to give him some money for their October holiday and he politely refused, saying ‘Thanks Granny but I don’t need it now I’m working”, (a weekend job at a local garden centre.)
That was a first!

Must get moving now, hair appointment and getting face tidied before meeting up with my dear sisters!

Wishing everyone the best day possible and relief for those in pain.

Good morning from grey South Lanarkshire.

Great photo Ash and Mizuna.

Yesterday the thick fog made for a slowish journey to Edinburgh where it didn’t fully clear until the afternoon. When I collected DGD from nursery at lunchtime she looked over to the park across the road and exclaimed ‘look Grandma, the trees are melting’. They did look very soft and fluffy in the fog.

Childminding again today but this time for DD. Inexplicably she is a huge fan of cricket and has tickets to watch Australia v Scotland in Edinburgh this afternoon. She and DSiL are going to make a day of it and have lunch together beforehand.

No tiny children so it should be an easier shift.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning everyone fro mid Essex. The sun is out and we have blue sky at the moment. We’ve had two cloudy, humid days but without any rain.
Lovely photo of ashand mizuna, pleased you had a good meet up!
blossoming I hope your pain improves during today, it’s so miserable to be in pain all the time.
bellas have a good time with your friend.
glammagran I hope you have a great time at the wedding party and that it stays dry for you.
I’ll go for my usual walk this morning, then will do domestic tasks, like vacuuming. Not very exciting, but necessary.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. What a lovely photo of our two Gransnetters! A damp grey start to what is supposed to be another nice day here in South Yorkshire. Yesterday was hot and sunny but apart from cutting the front lawn, I was too busy to take advantage of it. DS is coming down today to spend the day with me. We are booked into one of the local pubs for lunch and I hope it will be nice enough to have a walk in the lanes afterwards. I have a couple of small jobs to ask his help with before he goes home but he’s always very amenable!
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from Lancashire. I have slept poorly and am in a lot of pain just now. Enjoy your Saturday, I am hoping for some sleep if the pain will allow it..

Good morning from foggy damp s somerset, we still have a high chance of showers today

I was busy yesterday, it just happens. My re bounder is now ready to use in my hall, I made almond milk and kefir and the most lovely soup, I looked up a recipe for (fordhook) chard, cut from my garden. The mixture of spices gave it a most lovely taste, I never thought chard could taste so nice

My sister had glorious sun and warmth and it was the opposite here for the whole day. I walked to the local shops, got everything on my list and settled into a sewing session. Thank goodness for that, it was so complicated and tricky and the time passed, now I have half a pilar jacket draped on my dressform. More of the same today

It still looks unpleasant outside and the house is releasing its warmth, my intermediate and comfy wool dressing gown had to be worn today to keep me warm

Have a good day

Good morning all from a very soggy Wiltshire,

Today is the big wedding party for DD2. Actual official part was on Monday as they were unable to find a registrar who was free today. The venue is an organic farm with a fabulous conversion of a building with gardens surrounding it about a hour’s drive away. Just hope it doesn’t rain too often. Forecast last weekend was for it to be a lovely day.

We looked after DGS2 yesterday so his parents could setup the venue. He was brilliant though - he’s very mercurial. Must get up as I’ve an early hairdresser’s appointment.

Lovely photo of you both Ash and Mizuna. So glad you had a great meet-up. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from the Black country, dark here but dry lovely sunny day yesterday.
Early start DH has his annual inter club fishing contest of which he is the organiser.
I need to go to Next to collect a new winter coat I have ordered.

Lovely photo Mizuna & Ash glad you had a nice day.
Congratulations on your Golden wedding Anniversary to Urms and himself enjoy your day 🥂💐.
Have a good day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Ashcombe Sat 07-Sept-24 06:30:01

Oh, thank you, grandMattie. It was a bit like going on a blind date but without the angst! Mizuna is such an enthusiastic person, both interesting and interested, resulting in a most enjoyable time.

grandMattie Sat 07-Sept-24 06:25:08

Glad you had a nice day, Ash and Mizuna. You both look very glamorous!

Bellasnana Sat 07-Sept-24 06:01:53

Glad you two had a lovely day Ash😊

Bellasnana Sat 07-Sept-24 06:00:54

Good morning from Malta where it is very hot and sticky. Next week we are promised temperatures under 30°C which will be very welcome.

No plans today as I have to wait in for my rug to be delivered from the cleaners. Once they have been we will decide what to do.

It’s lovely having my friend here, she’s a very easy guest to have. We both looked after the boys yesterday and it was lovely having company.

Hope everyone has a good day. ☀️

Ashcombe Sat 07-Sept-24 05:59:16

Good morning from a cloudy Torbay.

Yesterday went very well. I met Mizuna from the train and we didn’t stop talking until we bade farewell at the end of the day. After refreshments at a nearby hotel with views over the bay, we ambled along the front to Bistro Pierre for lunch where we stayed until nearly 5.00 pm! She was very patient with my slowness in walking and is doing well in her recovery from knee surgery.

Happy weekend to you all. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Mizuna Sat 07-Sept-24 05:58:33

Good morning from a misty, rainy Cornwall. Fabulous day yesterday with Ashcombe in Torquay. The sun shone and we talked and talked and talked 😁 and ate lovely food overlooking the bay. I enjoyed myself so much. Thanks Ash for making it such a special day.

Today I must start reconfiguring my flat for my daughter's visit in a week's time. This evening is the commissioning service for our new Street Pastors initiative which will be based at the Salvation Army just round the corner from me, a convenient base for everyone involved on Saturday nights as it's so handy for the town centre.

Puss Sat 07-Sept-24 05:53:32

Good morning everyone from Belfast. It's dark here I can just about see the sky.
Yesterday was our warmest day of the year!!!!
Everyone wearing summer dresses , took myself into town
So busy couldn't wait to get out.
Today I am going to take my living room curtains down and wash them. I have been putting this of for a very long time.
Take care everyone.

grandMattie Sat 07-Sept-24 05:48:54

Good morning from a dry (for the moment) Bristol. Didn’t it rain last night? I hope our Welsh friends haven’t been flooded out.
Yesterday was mega quiet. I baked a couple of different biscuits for this morning’s church coffee, sewed a bit, read a lot, fiddled with my new pic. I can’t make it connect to the printer…
I’m dining with DD and family tonight, the first time in over a month. I’ll find out how Iris has got on with her new school.
I hope everyone has a good weekend. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry outside here in brackley at the moment.
Today will be spent at home as I shall watch the penultimate stage of the Tour of Spain on TV , plus will also see on TV again the Tour of Britain men's cycle race , which comes close to brackley as well .
Otherwise health front OK at the moment .
Take Care,
Mick
