FGT delighted that your party went so well. Treasure the memories! x
Which British song sums up the 1960s for you?

Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and its also raining here in brackley at the moment.
Today will be spent indoors with watching the finales of the Tours of Spain and Britain on TV.
Otherwise a quite day may break my routine and have a Chinese take away later .
Health wise seem OK .
Take Care,
Mick

I lost ny earlier post so just popped in to say how glad I am that the FGT golden celebrations went so well.
Happy birthday to Monk
It's dreich again today and as it's my Helper's last day we are going to Biggar where it's open doors day.
So buildings which aren't usually open to the public or cost to go in, are open free. I just wish the bus company understood and put on more buses. I shall have to drive.
I hope Iris's opinion of school improves. gMattie It's rather a long time to go.
Have a good Sunday everyone.
.
Good morning,
Another dull start to the day (it never got light yesterday). We’ve had a lot of rain through the night and it looks as if more is to come. It’s not cold though, which is a consolation.
Church this morning then a pile of ironing to deal with this afternoon.
Enjoy your day.
Sorry - don't know how that posted itself!
I hope your friend's hearing aids are soon sorted - hard work for you Bellasnana but so miserable for her. Deafness is so isolating. My hearing aids died on me recently just as DS1 and family arrived for the weekend so conversation for me was out all the time they were with me. When we were down at the beach I actually thought a little dog yapping was DS saying something to me!! Luckily my little great-grandson isn't speaking yet so we were able to understand each other no bother.
I'm glad you enjoyed your art day yesterday, RosesandLilac. It'll be fun putting all you learned into practice, particularly on a soggy day like today.
I'm sure Iris will soon settle down into her new routine grandmattie - change of any sort can be discombobulating, and that's a big one.
Right, off I go to do I know not what, but at least the fog seems to be more misty now which is a move in the right direction. Enjoy your Sunday everyone (and your Chinese Mick) and I hope this wet cool weather isn't aggravating aches and pains too much x
Good morning all. Well, having read through all your posts the impression is of a very grey, damp and miserable British Isles - and the Angus coast is no exception. We are into our second day of fog and the weather app tells me it's 15°. It feels decidedly cooler than that indoors!
It turned into a lovely day for a couple of hours yesterday so lots of al fresco chat with gardener and his grandson as they gave the large patio a facelift in the sunshine. They achieve in 30 minutes what would take me now a week of Sundays! Even through the fog it's looking really lovely.
DD and NewMan were canoeing in Wales yesterday so while they were there they also had a quick scamper up Snowdon - as you do 😉. They said it was foggy all the way up but the summit was above the clouds in bright sunshine and blue skies - the photo looked amazing.
What a lucky DGD you have Mizuna to be able to ride that lovely horse.
Sorry you're still feeling ill blossoming but I hope some more sleep does the trick for you.
Another busy day Marydoll - you obviously come with a glowing report to the new PP!
Good morning from a warm cloudy Cambridgeshire. It rained over night but looking like our last warm sunny day today.
I have wood bark ready to put on front beds and plan a good tidy around in the garden today.
Tomorrow we have the GC again for the day and hoping to go to a local NT property for a wander then it is gym and dance classes to help with.
School has confirmed that it should open again on 27 September with temporary classrooms in the school field. The fire caused much more damage than anticipated and has rather unsettled my two DGC who like their normal routine. They are ready to be back in school with their friends and a structured day!
Happy Birthday to Monk
FGT pleased you had a great time
Bellasnana it certainly was a stressful day and hope today goes well
Best wishes to everyone who feels poorly and struggling 💐
Have the best day possible everyone
There is always the tension between tidying the garden for the winter or leaving it for the sheltering and feeding wildlife.
I never thought of it that way before Whitewave. What a thoughtful gardener you are, in tune with the needs of nature.
Happy birthday Monk08
Glad the party went well FGT
Glad you had such a memorable party, FGT, and lots of good memories to treasure. Yet more grey skies and heavy rain promised so after church yet another indoor day. Wish I could summon up the energy to tackle some very necessary sorting out but expect it won’t happen.
Good morning from a cooler Co Armagh, I felt sick yesterday with the heat . I remember the days when the hotter the better! Out in the sun with olive oil on !
DD3 arrives today , looking forward to her chat
Enjoy the day x
Good morning from Cyprus - It’s boiling hot!
Long day yesterday - 12 hours from checking in at Newcastle airport to getting into our Hotel room. The plan for today is to very little.
Sounds a perfect evening FGT
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast.
I hope to throw off the vestiges of my virus today and crack on with some things. A sort out of artwork and papers, followed by phone calls to catch up with family and friends.
Sitting out in the garden yesterday, I was accompanied by a little frog. My cat took not notice.
So glad your celebrations went well FGT and birthday greetings to Monk🌺
Happy Birthday, Monk 🍾🎂💐
Sounds everything you could have hoped for!
FGT2, I’m so glad all went well yesterday. Enjoy the photos and keep the memories close. 🤗
Good morning everyone from a very wet south Manchester. Boy did it rain during the night! Mild though at 16 °C.
The party last night was perfect. My feet ache from dancing! We were presented with a wonderful album, collated by your girls - family & friends had donated photos from over the years, some from 1974 that we hadn’t seen before! We shall enjoy looking at it properly later.
My party dress fitted and wasn’t snug (relief - oh joy!). Hosting a party that size was tiring - working the room, sitting with all the different groups, ensuring the bar tab was topped up and the staff and DJ enjoyed the delicious buffet too.
Himself was fantastic. Everyone was amazed at how well he is looking “just like the old Himself”. A bonus was that I was so genuinely happy I didn’t get emotional once. Excellent.
So, a quiet day today. Our usual Sunday pub lunch with my stepfather is booked in for 2pm. Perfect end to the weekend, lucky me!
Good morning from a foggy and wet NE.
Family arrived yesterday with birthday cake so we could celebrate GD's 19th birthday a day early.
I gave her the gifts and she was thrilled, she set up her ipad and used it for the rest of the day.
GD was going to collect her BF after his shift, he was working until 2am and they will celebrate together today.
I am having a quiet day today, no visitors expected.
Happy Birthday Monk 🎂
Good morning all from a misty Glasgow, where it is 15°C. I still have that dreadful headache!!!
I had an extremely busy day yesterday. Just as I was getting ready to leave for my meeting, DS2 arrived with BabyD.
I was so disappointed that I had to leave.
The meeting was excellent. We have a new Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor, a retired senior police officer, he is so experienced in Safeguarding and already made such a difference in the last year.
I had a quick coffee with my old school friend and straight to church to open up.
I was very busy before and after Mass.
I think the new P.P and I will get on. I explained to him that I had keys to all the church premises, including the parish house and would he like me to return them.
His response was: If Father X trusted you, that's good enough for me.. A very diplomatic response.
Dollie asked if she could help me tidy up after Mass. It wasn't until we were in the sacristy, that I realised why, when I saw her fluttering her eyelashes at the altar server! 😱
Today, I need to go down between masses to do some PVGs and replace some posters.
A quiet day after that. Dinner is already prepared, beef cobbler, instead of our usual traditional roasts.
Bella, I hope your daughter recovers and gets on her trip.
Llfl, I too like experimenting with crumble. Today will be plum, with apples from the garden.
GMB, enjoy your evening.
I do hope your ceiling gets sorted ASAP, Mizuna. I went into the sacristy yesterday, to find the rain had been coming in again! 🙁
Enjoy your day folks.
Good morning from Lancashire. I haven’t looked out f the window yet, the forecast is for lcloudy and light rain. Yesterday I was able to get up for a few hours. I slept very well with only a couple of bathroom visits. I listened to an audiobook, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe. I don’t know what made me choose thar one! 😂. It was short, about 2 hours long and charming. I have taken all my morning meds and am now going to snooze until MrB brings me my morning tea.
Have a peaceful Sunday, I will read the full thread later as my eyes are too tired and keep closing 🪻
Good morning Mick and everyone from showery Carlisle where the sun is trying to come out.
Yesterday was quite sunny and warm. I made an early trip to Sainsbury's and then home to coffee and a long phone chat to my sister. Later, it was out in the garden to plant the autumn bedding I'd been tempted by in Sainsbury's. I hope these aren't slug-prone. I've found some big ones this week. I don't like actually killing anything so I give them two chances by tipping them down the drain...sink or swim! In my last garden, I gave them flying lessons over the fence...there was a field beyond.
Today will be a quiet one pursuing various interests and reading the paper, and, just maybe, some boring admin.
Happy birthday to you Monk!
And a good day to you all.
Happy birthday to Monk. Have a lovely day.
Good morning everyone from a dull and overcast Northampton; we have had some rain overnight.
A very mild day yesterday and the rain held off for the cycle race. I didn't go to watch them in the end, but saw it on tv instead as they passed less than half a mile from here. The county looked good even though it was misty and overcast.
An afternoon at the rugby with DS and DGD2, was good to be back even though we lost
this friendly against Leinster.
Out to the cinema late morning, where I am meeting a friend, to watch 'Firebrand', a film about Katherine Parr, Henry VIII's last wife. Has had very good reviews; Jude Law is playing Henry. The cinema has a bar, so a lunchtime
will be welcome!
Happy birthday 🎂 monk! Have a lovely day.
Happy Birthday monk 🎉🎂
Happy Birthday, Monk🎂🍹!
Good morning from a very wet Black Country.
Arrived home yesterday afternoon from Weymouth to rain. We had good weather there until the Thursday when it tipped it down all day, and some of Friday. I cannot ever remember a year with so much rain! Sunset photo is our view from the caravan on the site.
Washing today, but doubt it will get outside to dry.
Happy birthday Monk
. I am 71 in just under 2 weeks, but I will be in Skiathos then. So may gather family for a meal when back. 1953 was a good year
Wishing you all a lovely day
