I was surprised initially by the result in the Lords but thinking about it, why would any opposition party want to stop Labour from a massive own goal? So passing a motion of regret is the best way out? Shameful all round though.

Seriously though, I think the result is absolutely shameful!
I thought that the House of Lords would at least say that there would be a delay.
I've never voted in the local elections but I will next time and it won't be Labour. Our current one is Labour and she was on the list of backing the cut.
After the budget coming up I'm sure I'll be digging a hole and getting in it.

I don't eat crisps, or at least very rarely.

What about used, washed tinfoil? It might still have a few bits of food stuck to it but that should dry out.

A well known phrase about grandmothers and eggs springs to mind!

Foil behind the radiators does help - I kitted ours out last year and it made a difference (unless I was imagining it, of course). And the foil’s cheaper than buying crisps, and a lot less smelly, I presume!

What a ridiculous idea. However, tinfoil would work, so long as it was placed with the shiny (reflective) side facing inwards.

Disappointing - I was hoping an idea of how to join crisp packets together to make a foil blanket..

Surprised the advice is to use clean crisp packets. I was thinking if I didn’t wash them I’d use a different flavour in each room and inhale the aroma. It would cut down the food bills and make meal times interesting.

Start in the kitchen with prawn cocktail aroma for a starter. Then relax in the living room while I watch tv and inhale the delicious aroma of BBQ beef hula hoops. That’s just dessert to sort out now.

I won’t even need to buy the crisps. I’ll ask the family to save their wrappers up for me 😊

Kitchen foil behind radiators might be better - it might be more economical than buying crisps in bulk?

Assuming that pensioners who have to choose between eating and heating can afford to buy crisps.
