Tupperware has gone bust

I bought this 50 years ago at a Tupperware party and never used it. I can’t remember what it is for . Any thoughts?

I love that people's tupperware is still going strong

I still have the jelly mould and cereal dispensers.
I did have the shape sorter as well, it was really sturdy.

Infoman, Simon and Garfunkel's Greatest Hits was the first LP, I bought. I still have it.
Happy memories of my first year at Uni.

I think its the way the World is trying to turn away from plastics.
A memory for all of you,who recalls the Graduate film with Dustin Hoffman?
At the party in the film one of the guests advised "Ben" to go into plastics.
That was 1968,and I thought at the time will this "new" product come back to haunt us?
Now go and dig out that Greatest hits album of Simon and Garfunkel,and listen again to Mrs Robinson Scarborough Fair and sound of silence,happy days.

I didn’t go to Pippa Dee parties, it was ‘Dee Minor’ ones.

Good quality, quite expensive, pushy agent who looked put out if you only bought cheaper stuff, but she was a friend of a friend….

I tell you what pre dated Pippa Dee Parties...'Salamander' parties, does anyone remember them ?

My biscuit tins must be 40 years old.

I don’t ever remember going to a Tupperware party but I went to quite a few PippaDee ones. I liked the stainless steel ones best as they were easier on the pocket with their range of prices for things. The tongs still get used when cooking sausages.

I remember being very brave at a jewellery party once. Not many people turned up so it was very noticeable that I had yet to place an order. I stuck to my guns though as even the cheapest item was expensive and I didn’t like at all so I wasn’t going to buy to save face.

Around the time that I married in 1972 I went to several Tupperware parties . They were fun and I bought a few things . I had the rolling pin for years until it got knocked against the gas cooker and it melted a hole in it . I could still use it but not with water or ice cubes in it . However my mother’s rolling pin survives undamaged to the present day and I inherited it when she died 20 years ago .
I have recently bought some Tupperware online which can take a few weeks to arrive as it is shipped from Denmark I think . In fact I have today been notified that my latest purchase (a double pate for salads) will be delivered tomorrow by Royal Mail .

I still have a couple of pieces from my first ever Tupperware party - 53 years ago!!

Lots of vintage Shape O balls on ebay for sale. Pre used. Prices from 10.00 to 25.00. No doubt they will go up now. Made me a little tearful. My daughters loved it. Pased on I think to a friend with 2 younger daughters. And hopefully passed on again and again like the Fischer Price toys. All made to last.

Amazingly durable stuff and very well made. It's a pity that they were driven out by cheaper (and probably inferior) imitations, although some people still call any plastic lidded food container Tupperware. Yes, I do remember that toy, and the Tupperware parties.

I was a Tupperware seller for a while. I loved Tupperware (still do) and the stuff you can get now really is not nearly as good.

The red and blue ball was called a ‘Shapo’ (not sure if I got the spelling right after all this time!)

I may be biased but I don’t think today’s copies come up to standard compared with the real thing.

I have a very large cake container with a rigid base, ideal when I make (and transport) elaborate birthday cakes. I liked the lettuce crisper, which did work and the set of bowls that fitted inside each other; unfortunately I put them in the dishwasher and they lost their shape. Sorry To see it go; the merchandise really did last, but that was their downfall.

Have remembered now - it was a Shape-O! Looked it up and they are being sold on eBay and probably other places. In my opinion, this was one of the best toys ever. My children and grandchildren all played with theirs endlessly.

I only ever went to one party where I felt obliged to purchase something . Came away with a 'rice cooker' - never did get rice to cook in it

They're probably kicking about somewhere in some alternate universe along with all the odd socks and missing teaspoons...

I still use the jelly moulds for homemade ice cream , they must be fifty years old and are still as good as new.I would doubt that the cheap Chinese plastic ware would last as long.

Great idea at the time but better stuff out there now. Just changed mine, glass with plastic lids as the Tupperware was all stained.
