This morning I need to make soup, make bread, clean the downstairs of the house, then walk the dog we are temporarily looking after.

This afternoon I need to be suited and booted for a work meeting, home to change, finish off bread and probably cleaning then another dog walk and supper prep.

So why am I sitting her wasting time on SM and drinking tea?

I've gone from being dynamic to being a procrastinator.
I got up , watered the garden ,did my very enjoyable yoga class, had a quick browse round the charity shops and a mini food shop .
Now my back is hurting and I'm in front of the TV .
It's pushing my shopping trolley , which is causing it .
So I'll have some lunch and try to do a little gentle gardening.
People are waiting for plants ,which I promised them an embarrassing age ago .

Packing for our trip up to the Borders. Can't decide what clothes to take. And probably need to wash some of them too before packing.

I have to keep getting my glasses to read labels.

I had to use the loupe I use for reading hallmarks on jewellery this morning as well as my glasses and I still couldn't read the tiny writing on a label 😠

Cossy

Everything!

I am an everything too!

I had the sort of day op has, yesterday.
Today, I had decided my body feels like it needs a rest soon. So, decided, today is the day for that.
I am too tired though, to enjoy the rest day properly. Though that does justify to me, my need for the rest.

Havent even been on GN this morning.
Too tired.
And many things on my mind.

Sometimes I look at some problems on GN and think I have bigger ones going on myself[not serious serious]. So close down GN.

I have visitors tomorrow so I ought to be tidying and dusting.

I did manage to post a birthday card in time to use a second class stamp. It wasn’t even on my To Do list! I just remembered and did it.

MissAdventure Thu 19-Sept-24 15:03:09

Well, I have just put some washing out.
It nearly killed me, and I know I'm doing it as others are fetching theirs in, but I have a marvellous little app on my phone, that assures me even the heavy stuff will be done by around 5.30pm.

I'm "painkillered up" have put double base on my legs...

It's all systems go now. (For 10 mins)

aonk Thu 19-Sept-24 15:05:30

No criticism intended but I don’t understand why anyone “needs” to make soup or bread. Divide the to do list in to 2 columns. One for essential tasks and the other for less important ones.

Homemade soup and bread is a million miles from shop bought and healthier.

Anyway, I assumed this thread was lighthearted.

The copycat Panera Bread broccoli and cheese soup I made on the weekend went down a treat.

Car insurance renewal. Since Mr C turned 80 every year seems to be think of a number and double it.

Oh cornergran, I'm changing cars and spent a whole morning trying to change my insurance from one company to another using a comparison website.

I thought I'd been successful but now the new company has emailed me with a hiccup and it's all turning into a nightmare.

The old company wanted to pluck a number out of the air and double it but couldn't give me a reason why, what the agent was telling me was all totally illogical.

😡

All done, and supper is on the hob ready for later, just a 20 min workout.
The dog in our care had his second walk and I’ve got a cuppa and a few minutes before I get the weights out and fling myself around!

aonk Homemade food is part of my routine, I do not like shop bought bread or soup, it’s far healthier and very simple to make my own and freeze.
We have a healthy diet avoiding UPF’s as we would like to stay fit and healthy for as long as possible.
Other than the odd Waitrose dine in we cook everything from scratch.
I appreciate I am lucky to be able to do this.

As for dividing the list, work will always be the priority anything else I get done is a bonus.

Procrastination! What are you avoiding today

Cooking dinner.
Sorting out this s***ing car insurance
Finishing a craft project

I think I'm an enthusiastic starter but a bored finisher 🙂

How lovely though foxie - I love Italy and Rome is perfect in September!

It was beautiful and the weather, apart from the last day, was gorgeous. First visit to Rome and we (went with my daughter) thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. it's such an interesting city.

Glorious hot here, once it got going, sometimes it has to be a seize the day, we just up sticks and headed for the coast about 15 miles away, there, there is a very busy cafe, with tables and chairs right on the beach where we had an enjoyable couple of sun soaked hours staring at the sea, having a light lunch and glass of wine. I didn't give a passing thought to ironing or anything else that needed doing, it can all wait, the forecast for the next few days is a bit rainy.

I’m a terrible procrastinator, but I have a management strategy for it or nothing would get done. I use a kitchen timer, and have three things on the go at a time. Today it was deleting emails, filing and dealing with paperwork, and laying mulch on the Bank of Doom at the end of my garden, which is weedy, steep, and hard on my legs and back. 15 minutes each thing in rotation. I’ve got a short concentration span, so this works far better for me than having one mountainous task.

MissAdventure Thu 19-Sept-24 23:26:13

Well, I fell asleep, so I still managed to procrastinate, albeit in a sneaky way.

I cant even remember how it happened, but I wasted the whole evening, my washing is still out, and nothing got done.

Tomorrows another day, I guess. angry

Quarterly reports [again], but this time trying to nail it down so there's just one method. Every bl##dy time it seems to change.

My assistant will have to do next quarter as I'm due a hip replacement next month. Got to get this right for him.

Ilovedogs22 Fri 20-Sept-24 11:26:33

Regarding procrastination, my mother always said that my name should have been mañana! grin

Dillonsgranma Fri 20-Sept-24 11:48:03

I’ve just made stuffed tomatoes and stuffed peppers. The last of the beef tomatoes from the garden I used steak mince and onion cooked in pan with herbs and oxo cubes .
Does anyone else stuff tomatoes?

MissAdventure Fri 20-Sept-24 11:51:02

Oh they look delicious!
I love tomatoes, but I've never stuffed one, and never plan to.

Going food shopping I hate it! It’s my day off and a waste of my day! There I’ve said it I better go now!

Well, at last I have completed the task I was avoiding, by making up the spare room beds, after washing the linens on Monday. I had been ignoring them all week, but done now.
Thing is, the beds look so inviting it was very tempting not to jump in, however, I resisted.
