Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and wet outside here in brackley this morning .
I did not go out yesterday one reason being I had a call to say that they would fit my smart meter in the morning .
Locally some areas may have had flooding , today I will chance it and hope a bus service is running to Bicester .
Return hopefully have lunch plus cycling on TV .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dry Bristol. The rain yesterday was biblical…. Parts of Cleveden are flooded but I haven’t heard of any in Bristol proper.
I took yesterday as quietly as I could and feel better for it. I’m sure it must have been the RSV jab.
I spent the morning baking; two cakes, brownies and some biscuits, for an afternoon local Alzheimer’s research fund-raising in church. There hasn’t been a lot of advertising, so I hope all the preparation is worth it.
After lunch, I went to the monthly OAP film show. A weird film with Bill Nighy called “Sometimes, Always, Never”. Certainly different to the usual feel good stuff we have.
I hope no one is flooded, and stays safe. Carpe diem🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from s somerset, grey sky all of today and maybe just a bit of drizzle

I am very thankful to have a nice dry house and finding stuff to do in my day is not a problem. I feel for those who suddenly have water ingress and worse

I managed to `find` my old audible books, 36 of them purchased between 2011 and 2014, audible is now working and all I need to do is ask alexa to play, possibly for 20 minutes at a time and then I get up and walk around, doing a kitchen-tidy or something. It prevents me from sitting too long while being engrossed in my new-style knitting

I am getting cabin fever so whatever the weather, I am going out for a fast (ish) walk up and down the town hilly bits

Sewing is taking a back seat but I need to plod on, the mojo is disappearing as it does from time to time. I cannot abandon it, I have a cotton dress to finish before I tidy up for autumn and an hour at a time is manageable

Lamb casserole to make today, mostly for ready meals, which really are a life-saver

Have a good day

Good morning from a dry, cloudy Torbay. No floods here but my DS in Staffs struggled to find a route to work yesterday due to flooding.

Yesterday, I attended the Move It or Lose It class where numbers have been lower than usual for a few weeks. A few people were unwell but several just don’t turn up nor send apologies which is disappointing, especially for the instructor who puts so much effort and enthusiasm into the content.

Props this morning then a cut and colour for my hair. I hope the stylist is quicker today - my first appointment in July took nearly three hours!

I hope those with worries of any kind are feeling some relief today. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning from Shropshire where a dry day is forecast.

Thank you for the kind messages re my mum.Things have taken a rapid decline and big decisions need to be made💔She won’t like them but her present situation no longer feels safe.

Yesterday’s hospital appointment went well.

Another appointment later but first more sorting.

Thoughts to all dealing with illness and to those with worries and struggles.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Good morning from Malta where it is looking bright and still very warm.
We had some rain yesterday but nothing much.

I’m up and ready to go as both boys are poorly so not going to nursery today which means Nana has been called in.

Just having a coffee before I go as who knows if I’ll have the chance for a while!

Glad you are feeling better*GM*. I had to look up what an RSV jab is. We aren’t offered it here.

Wishing a good day to all. ☀️

Good morning from Kos. A little cloudy at the moment but I believe sun is forecast for the rest of the day.it sounds like we are missing some dreadful weather at home.
We are getting the local bus into Kos town today. There are lots of historical sites, a marina and hopefully some lovely little shops to visit.
Have a good day everyone xx

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and dry. Susan all the best for you and your mum. I'm still waiting for guardianship to be activated for my mum.
Yesterday dgs2 was a bit unwell and emotional. He had the flu spray on Friday so we think it's that. Dd sent me a photo of the local paper and there's dgs1 grinning in it! It was an article about his school and a notable success they have had. Of course, dgs1 never mentioned it.
Today will be much like yesterday. No playgroup on Tuesday for dgs2. I'm making a large tray bake of lemon drizzle cake for dds work who are having a Macmillan coffee morning on Thursday. Dd is making loads of other stuff. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a very damp Cornwall; I only know because the buses and delivery lorries are making swishing sounds as they go past my window. The very big trees planted in the pavements outside our building are losing their leaves rapidly now.

Finished renovating my son's guitar yesterday, quite a project as I had to attach the tuning pegs in different positions from the old broken ones. (Note to the Gransnetter who pm'd me: the WD40 did eventually work. 😁) I'm going to take it to a guitar shop in a nearby town tomorrow for them to check it over. I'll look like an ageing rock chick on the bus with a guitar in tow!

Today my daughter and I will just laze around watching films and chatting. She goes home tomorrow but I'll see her again at Christmas. We never have sad partings, which is lovely.

Good morning from a dark, wet and cold hillside in south Glos, wasn’t that rain horrendous yesterday?
I happily say and started another pair of socks while listening to audiobooks, a very lazy day.
I did finish swopping over my wardrobe, packed for my art break that starts this afternoon and clean the kitchen too.
I hope it’s dryer for everyone today 🌹

RosesandLilac Tue 24-Sept-24 06:39:18

Drier ?

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 24-Sept-24 06:48:52

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. We gave no rain forecast today. I hope that’s correct as yesterday was almost nonstop rain. OH didn’t visit his bees as they get very agitated in the rain,

My new online V&A course starts today. It is in Art by History.

After lunch I’ll drive to the other side of the village to visit a friend. I’ll take honey. Her road was flooded yesterday so I’ll check the conditions fi.

OH had his shooting club tonight. I’ll watch Bakeoff - I record it and watch it from around 8.20 pm so I can fast forward the adverts.

Have a good day. I hope FGT2 and her OH get to Malaga safely.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 24-Sept-24 06:49:42

Sorry for the typos!

Good morning, all. I have lost my post, blasted Virgin and poor Internet.

I shall just wish you all a good day.

Susan 💐

Good morning all from a greyish North Leicestershire.

I feel dreadful having been awake since 3! I have a singing lesson at 11.30 and DH has a volunteer drive

brook2704 Tue 24-Sept-24 07:15:23

Good morning everyone from Inverness, we’ve not had any rain up here but it’s a grey and cloudy morning again.
Hoping the boys are feeling a bit better soon Bellasnana
I’ve a busy day ahead, a volunteering session all morning and then coffee with my pal this afternoon - so I’ll be out all day.
Enjoy your art break rosesandlilac and everyone else away just now, safe travels to FGT too
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Redcar Tue 24-Sept-24 07:16:14

Good morning everyone from mid Essex where it’s grey, breezy and damp. I’m not sure if it’s actually raining at the moment or what the forecast is for the day. I didn’t go shopping yesterday, went for a walk instead. Then I had a phone call from a friend I hadn’t heard from in ages, so had a good catch up with her.
Did some washing (boring) and started the ironing.
Will go shopping today, then visit my friend with dementia. Maybe finish the ironing if there’s time.
I hope that fgt2 has a good journey to her happy place.
Thinking of those with illness and worries.

Bonnybanko Tue 24-Sept-24 07:17:56

Blast and damnation I’ve lost my post, here goes again.
Good morning from a cold start here on the east coast of Fife,
I’ve got the Sky engineer coming in this morning my broadband has been acting up.
Bellasnana have a good day with those lovely twin boys hope they get well soon.

Keep safe my friends enjoy what good health you may have - for you never know

Georgesgran Tue 24-Sept-24 07:32:37

Good morning from a very wet Durham. I have a chiropody appointment this afternoon, but been warned that the local car parks are closed to accommodate spectators at the international cricket match. Whilst I don’t like cricket, the weather is a disaster for those who will have travelled a long way to watch the match. Looks like I may get wet!
Best wishes to all. X

GrannyGravy13 Tue 24-Sept-24 07:36:32

Morning all, still grey here.

Ned change, first thing, blood test this afternoon, then pick up the boys from school and then the dreaded swim lessons.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️

grandMattie Tue 24-Sept-24 07:47:06

Bellasnana, the RSV vaccination is a new thing here. It’s being offered to babies (newborn?) and people between 75and 79 (or very recently 80). I think it’s a lifetime thing.

GrannySomerset Tue 24-Sept-24 07:50:14

Yesterday’s monsoon has closed some local roads so am hoping Wonderful Cleaner can make it this morning. Not sure that supermarketing couldn’t wait for another day as there is no need to risk getting stuck in flood water. Nothing else planned so will take the day as it comes. Hope all is well with everyone after yesterday’s rain.

Gingster Tue 24-Sept-24 07:51:26

Good morning all and it’s very grey here in Essex. After the heavy rain first thing yesterday, it turned into a ‘mostly’ warm and sunny day.

Music and memories was great fun with audience participation and our ‘leader’ giving it her all. It cost us £1 and an extra 50p for tea and biscuits. U3A - what a brilliant concept someone had all those years ago. Something for everyone,

Today I will throughly clean the bathroom, the shower needs a good scrub rather than a quick wipe down. 🙄. Hate the job!

Brilliant job with that guitar Mizuna. We have some really talented grans on here. I’m still looking for my ‘talent’. 😂.

Bridge club this afternoon, with cake, of course.

Take care and I hope the day is ‘good’ for you all. 🍁🌻

Has anyone had to complain to L’Oreal about a product?
I have issues with a face cream but consumer support seems non existent

Greyduster Tue 24-Sept-24 08:04:58

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a gloomy South Yorkshire. Looks as if it’s going to be another wet day. Yesterday it stopped just long enough for me to walk down to the pharmacy to pick up my meds. It’s cold too. Volunteering this afternoon. I will have to drive to school by the look of it.
Have the best day you can, folks.
