Good morning Mick and everyone from a very wet and dark Carlisle. It started raining at dinner time yesterday and I think it's only just stopping though maybe not for long,

Yesterday I went out in the garden with my large bag of crocus bulbs and decided to have another go at putting them in the lawn. This time, the job seemed easier and I got them all in, just the tulips now.
Later, I watched an orb spider re-spinning its web outside my kitchen window and marvelled at how a little creature could produce such a pretty and complex creation. On consulting Professor Google, I learnt that an Oxford University study had concluded that spiders had superior cognitive abilities. Hm! Could you conclude that about some humans?!

Today, in spite of the weather, I'm off to Sainsbury's for some fresh veggies amongst other items. I can't live without my fresh veg which the local convenience store doesn't stock. My Tesco delivery is only fortnightly so their supply doesn't last me till the next one. I want out of the house anyway, I'm prone to cabin fever...

Have the best possible day everyone.

Good morning from a very wet and windy day here on the east coast of Fife
The weather has kept me awake most of the night and I’m still feeling poorly I’ve ordered more paracetamols to take every 4 hrs and I’m hoping I get better soon.

Have a good day my friends or at least the best you can and keep safe

Morning all, my cleaning fairies are due any minute, I will hide in the kitchen with my iPad and a latte.

No other plans until I pick up the 9yr old after football for his weekly sleepover.

Will read your posts in a minute 🙋‍♀️

Good morning all from grey drizzly N Bucks.
My plans for today are a lift to MK station (to save the stress of finding a parking space, I’ll get a taxi home tonight) then train to Birmingham to forget all the “unpleasantness ” outside and to lose myself in the colour, music and witty dancing of La Fille Mal Gardée”
I don’t know if I’ll be able to see any of the GC as by the time I got out to them I’d only have an hour at most before turning round to get back for my train - even with an Uber- so I will see how I feel (and how hard it is raining) when I get there.
@ Cornergran - that is an unforgivable mistake for your friend to have experienced. Words fail me.
With kind thoughts to all who are going through ill health or supporting othersflowers

Good morning all from a very wet Edinburgh, where it is 8°.
Yesterday's weather was glorious, but chilly.

We had a very eventful day, yesterday, including the bus we had booked seats on, going missing being untrackable, according to the bus station dispatcher. No-one knew where it was. How can you lose a Megabus?
The driver of the Aberdeen bus, offered us a seat on his bus, if I fancied a day in Perth instead! Everyone, we encountered was so friendly and helpful.
Just as we were giving up, an hour later, a replacement bus arrived. I offered the driver the booking form and bus pass.
Hen, nothing is working, my ticket machine is working and I just want to finish my shift. You sit anywhere you like!
In the end, what was meant to be a full bus, only had six passengers!

The journey back to Edinburgh was even more problematic, an hour and a half journey took over two and a half hours. The bus was coming from Aberdeen and the driver had a long conversation with me at the beginning and end of the journey. He spoke with a very strong Aberdeen accent, I couldn't understand a word, so I just kept smiling and nodding! 🤣

Susan, I have been in a similar position than you. Visiting every day is physically, emotionally and mentally exhausting. My mother used to make me feel guilty and I felt I had to visit her at home / hospital once a day, despite working full time and having a family to take care of.
My health broke and my GP, who was also hers, gave me permission to take a step back. You have to allow others to help, if possible. You must look after yourself too. 💐

I am still in bed in the hotel, I am not feeling too good. My chest is playing up, so we are just going to have a gentle day. Our plans have changed.
Once I come too, we may take a tram ride and explore.

Have a pleasant day and best wishes to all, who are struggling.
Hoping Old D makes the train in time.

Dunworking, I have sent you a link to the chat! 🤣

Good morning from Dunblane where the house lights and the heating is on. Yesterday we had frost and the cars were iced up! Today I am helping out at RDA and then awaiting my cousin from Australia arriving in Scotland. He was one of the 50's children shipped off alone to Australia and now the Gov is making amends by inviting them to visit where they came from. He and his wife are very excited! Hope everyone has a great day.

Sorry for the sp. errors, A huge red rectangle covered my post! I eventually gave up.

I should have said, The ticket machine wasn't working.I think that is what you call a free ride!.😉

Good morning from a very wet and windy Glasgow!
Firstly a big thank you to Marydoll for her IT help…people like me should not be allowed near technology! 😂
We had a lovely awayday yesterday on the east coast. Sun shining and an empty beach!
Today I have a friend for coffee in the afternoon but plans to have a wee game of bowls look unlikely….I am a VERY fair weather participant…still trying to get the hang of throwing a big black bowl in general direction of small white one!!! Hey ho! 😂
Enjoy ur day everyone .

We saw this quirky telephone box on our travels.

Good morning everyone from East Northants, where I have been staying at DD's after our wine club last night: we had a lovely evening, tasting Sauvignon Blanc, and enjoying delicious food.

It looks cold and damp out but I don't think it is actually raining. DD is out with the dog.

Just made a leisurely mug of tea, and then DD will drop me off at home later.

No plans to do much at home, just a Sainsburys delivery mid afternoon. I plan on making a chicken pineapple and ginger stir fry for dinner.

Wishing all a good day.

Grandmabatty indeed I do. When I walked past on Tuesday I noticed they had a sign advertising a new lunch menu deal! It is DS and DiL’s favorite restaurant. Miserable and cold day here may just pop down to M&S for some treats, DH is curling so will have an empty. I took some cuttings from plants before our Sicily holiday so may repot them. The hydrangea has turned but have picked a few and am attempting to dry them hope it works this time. FGT hope your DH makes his Eurostar. Envious of all the holiday grans but thinking of those who are unable to have one for one reason or another. Kalu flowers?

Indeed I do Grandmabatty it is my DS &DiL favourite restaurant. They have a new lunch deal on. Hubby curling so have an empty may go down to M& S for some treats. I also have some plant cuttings to pot up. My hydrangeas are coming to an end so have cut some and will attempt to dry them, have tried before but it didn’t work! Thoughts are with Kalu and others who are suffering or struggling.

Good morning Mick and all from a damp northwest coast.
DD leaves today after a nice stay. She has been all go, visiting childhood friends etc and helping me declutter.

DS put a new battery in my car. It had been standing idle in the garage as my back has been in spasm, but he checked it and decided a new one was due. He’s very handy, fixing an outside light etc as well as being excellent company, keeping me up talking until the small hours.
The back has improved but left me feeling drained. On the plus side, I had beautiful dreams last night and was sorry to wake up😁
Thoughts to all with troubles 🌺

Good Morning from a dry wet Co Armagh, it was too wet and windy to venture to Mass , it was childrens Mass this morning so space is at a premium , so I left space for someone else in our wee Church
I started a new book on my kindle last night and picked it up this morning! Nothing done so far , I resolutely closed it down and will get a few household tasks done
Enjoy whatever you can , even reading when the dishes aren’t done 🤣

Ziplok Thu 26-Sept-24 11:57:55

Good morning,

So far, it has remained dry. We have had a lot of rain through the night though, as the vegetation looks very wet. It’s a lot cooler, too.

I really ought to stir myself and go for a walk, as I feel I’m sitting about too much. I managed to go for one yesterday and enjoyed it, but cut it short as it was starting to drizzle and I only had on a thinnish coat and no brolly. My aim is to gradually increase the length and pace. I have done my Pilates class today, though, so don’t feel quite as guilty 😅.

Sorry to hear about you Mum Susan, it’s very difficult isn’t it, but as Marydoll and others say, try to pace yourself and allow yourself some “me” time in order to recharge your batteries. You don’t want to make yourself unwell. 💐

Belated Good Morning! So far today the weather in Lancashire has been cloudy, sunny (very briefly) and is now raining heavily. Wishing everyone a good Thursday, whatever you’re doing 🌹
