A 2nd autumn/winter goal I’ve set myself…

Has anyone else set themselves a task for the cold, dark months?

My first is to tackle one drawer or cupboard every day and get rid of stuff we no longer wear or use. Set myself the same last year but hardly did any. Resolved to do better this year - but that’s for after the clocks change.

2nd, after barely touching the piano for ages (and I was never much good at all) aiming to learn one favourite piece I tried (and gave up on) a few years ago - Schumann’s ‘Of Strange Lands And People’.
I’m going to try to do it by learning very small sections by heart, playing each over and over, until they’re finally dinged into my ‘muscle memory’.
We shall see….

I have emptied, thrown away tat and reorganised two cupboards in my laundry this afternoon, a floor to ceiling one to do tomorrow (easier as bottom has vacuum, mop etc. so just two top shelves to sort)

I have put off doing a lot of clearing, cleaning, sorting due to expected building works (entire house) but it’s been delayed until next spring, so I have no excuse and need to crack on, cupboard by cupboard, drawer by drawer and the enormous job of wardrobes 🙀

U made me laugh BigBertha1. I too am a procrastinator, my mother said my middle name should have been mañana! (Spanish for tomorrow!) grin

You should think about moving to the Western Isles, Ilovedogs. There is said to be no word for mañana in Gaelic as they can’t imagine anything that urgent. grin

I've been watching Designing The Hebrides and think it is stunningly beautiful with the most lovely, soft lilting accents and gentle people.. if you live anywhere near there you are truly blessed

Well pascal30, The Hebrides programme sounds very interesting. I may watch possibly, some time next month or next year or most likely man'ana. ⏳
