Slippers ,shoes or bare feet?

I`ve always worn slippers until I had an accident which caused my feet to swell up, so now it`s bare feet at home.

Bare feet or flipflops

My feet are always cold, so slippers. I have just gone into my winter ones, for extra warmth.

I wear mules round the house, so neither, slippers, shoes or bare feet. The moment I sit down my feet are out of my shoes, not bare, I get cold feet, but shoe less.

We live in an old house with steep windy uncarpeted stairs and wooden floors. The chance of slipping is high, so I insist that everyone staying in the house wears, rubber soled footwear, whether slippers or shoes. No bare feet since DS slipped on carpeted stairs (in a different house) and broke his ankle.

Slippers now, barefoot in the summer. My daughter and children have just been here, socks for all, we have carpet, apart from the kitchen and bathrooms

Slippers for me. I have hard floors everywhere with a rug at my bedside. I would be too cold without my slippers.

Nearly always barefoot, sometimes in socks. Not sure I have owned slippers in my adult life and I don’t like shoes indoors.

Half n half, I find it easier to walk bare footed with my knee problems but feet are getting cold, now back to slippers & thick socks- ruined my straight toes with those fit-flops during Covid, now all curled up (think I was gripping on to them with my toes) 😩

Cosy sheepskin slippers all year round.

We would never wear shoes indoors and always take our shoes off when visiting others, we always either wear slippers or socks.
We have lovely light coloured carpets that cost us too much and assume others don’t want their floors or carpets made messy by outdoor shoes. And we do ask visitors to take off their shoes but will offer them slippers. Xx

I watched a video clip a while back of people cutting the soles out of their shoes so they could go barefoot but still look as if they had shoes on. I wondered why.
Well it was on Tik-tok but they must have well maintained pavements and no dog poo where they lived.

As I said on the other slipper thread, I practically live in mine. Shoes off as soon as I get in, slippers on! My cosy furry boot ones most of the year, but I do have croc-type ones which I will wear if it's really warm.

Just idle curiosity! Both of our daughters go barefoot or socks! My feet are too cold for either!

@Delia22 I love idle curiosity it makes for a fun thread.
I get really cold feet too, when I pop a hot water bottle in bed I always put it near my feet, the rest of me is usually warm.

Slippers. Never bare feet. We have two cats and I don’t really want to tread in something they’ve brought in (they left a rat in the kitchen last week) or brought up!

Bare feet in warm weather.
Progressive to socks and then slippers as well in cold weather.
Never flip flops, too uncomfortable and dangerous.

Bare feet whatever the weather my house is warm .

I’m looking for some really nice cushioned socks to wear instead of slippers.
