Good morning from a damp Bristol; it blew and rained most of the night but is quiet ATM. Autumn is well upon us with lower temperatures, leaves turning, etc. I live off a road lined with trees, at least half of which are liquidambars.. They are turning burgundy before showing their scarlet glory. I hope the leaves won’t be torn off by storms too early as last year,
I had a quiet Sunday, church then empty as usual.
My upstairs neighbour seems to have stared a habit of seeing me in the afternoon for a chat. I don’t know if she is doing it out of kindness or genuinely enjoys it, but I certainly do.
This morning is fairly busy including a very large Tesco shop.
Happen birthday for yesterday, our very dear taichinan; I hope you had a lovely day.
Have a good week.Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

A very wet 💦 good morning from Wales where it’s precipitated all night and gardens are benefiting…🥴

Mick you’ve summed up my day - trot out, lunch, siesta and find a good film on telly! I do hope others have a more exciting time and look forward to more of your delightful holiday pics 🌞

Hugs for all having tough times at the moment 💐, either with your own health worries or loved ones x

Grandmabatty Mon 30-Sept-24 05:58:18

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and dry. I'm not sure of the forecast. You might need to supplement your diet, Mick.
Yesterday was a quiet day. Some housework done. I didn't do the ironing but rested instead. Soup was made and an Eve's pudding. I visited mum in the afternoon and she was awake for once. I chatted for a while and left after half an hour as she'd had enough. She's very frail now. The nurse told me the doctor assigned by the lawyer had been in, so the guardianship process is moving on. Back home, I had a blether with a neighbour who is just lovely. Apparently a wee girl went missing and the police were involved. Fortunately she was found after three hours in someone house, playing.
Today is very early childcare day. It was a struggle to rise this morning! School and playgroup and a trip to Tesco for their magazines. Have a good day all

Good morning from Shropshire.Rain forecast all day.

Yesterday was emotional.Went to mum’s house and spoke with her neighbours.Met DD2 for a lovely lunch then visited mum which was upsetting.

Today I have laundry and admin to do for us and for mum.Hopefully if I get everything done this morning I can start reading my new Ann Cleeves book this afternoon.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Good morning from Kos. We are up early as we are going on a Catamaran trip to Bodrun in Turkey for the day.
We are being picked up outside the hotel and returned at the end of the day. Passports in my bag ready.
We are having a lovely relaxing time in a beautiful location.
Sending best wishes to all xx

Susan56 Mon 30-Sept-24 06:02:34

Mick it might be worth having a chat with your healthcare team.

Bellasnana Mon 30-Sept-24 06:13:18

Good morning from Malta where it’s still very warm.

Sorry I missed your birthday Taichinan, hope you had a lovely day. 💐

I had a visit from the boys yesterday, it seems to have become a weekly thing so I will have to stop cleaning the house on Saturdays as it’s all upside down again after a visit from the Hurricane and his brother.😂

I’m off to look after them today as their nursery is closed today and tomorrow for some reason.

I’m hoping to be able to sneak a look at the tennis this morning but not holding out much hope as the boys don’t nap as early as they used to.

Sar enjoy your trip, sounds fun. Susan I’m so sorry you’re going through such an emotional time with your mum.💐

Wishing a good day to all.☀️

Bonnybanko Mon 30-Sept-24 06:16:56

Good morning all I’m not so tired today, however I’ll be phoning my gp surgery later on for advice as I’ve still got the lurgy.
That’s been over a fortnight now and I’m a little worried.
It’s really getting colder here on the east coast of Fife it’s quite dark outside and looks like it’s been raining. No church today as my friend is unable to take me, it’s just as well I wouldn’t want to pass my lurgy aka flu like symptoms to folks who may be vulnerable. I watched the life of dame Maggie Smith yesterday I loved her in the life of miss Brodie and many other films etc she was simply one of the best.

Have a safe day and take care my friends 💐💐💐

RosesandLilac Mon 30-Sept-24 06:37:10

Good morning everyone from the sodden hillside in south Glos where it’s bucketing down 🙄
Besides the usual chores nothing exciting happened yesterday, just a quiet Sunday, although I did make a rather yummy apple and rhubarb crumble for pudding.
I lit the wood burner early afternoon and we enjoyed watching three Poirot films back to back.
Today I don’t have anything planned, besides dog walks.
I hope you have a good day 🌹

karmalady Mon 30-Sept-24 06:37:43

Good morning from s somerset, dull and cool all day today

Susan flowers thinking of you and your family

I closed all the house vents yesterday too much cold was blowing in and I won`t need to open any unless I use the multi fuel stove. I sat and did my knitting with a lovely big woollen throw over my knees, it made a big difference to my comfort late afternoon

It started with swapping around sandals for boots but I ended up sorting underbed boxes and chests of drawers. I got rid of some stuff but by tidying I realised that using what I have has opened up some more space. That was satisfying, even though the process was tiring. I did get my walk in though

I have no appointments so whatever evolves will be my mantra this week. If anyone wants a Maggie Smith film, the prime of miss Jean Brodie is available (free) on youtube

Have a good day

Good morning, all, from a damp looking Crewe for our homeward journey by rail today.

Thank you for the kind messages about my friend; her cancer has now beeen confirmed as ovarian. I think we all know what to expect.

That sad news aside, it's been a pleasant weekend with my DD and family. They are as busy as ever with sport (for the DGS2, 14) and dancing (DGD, 11) but we enjoyed relaxing over an Italian meal on Saturday evening. DH throughly enjoyed his time at the Model Railway Exhibition at Stafford Showground yesterday and we also a visit from my DS with his lady and my DGS3, aged 8.

I hope you find the energy to face your busy day, Grandmabatty and thinking of you, Susan56.
Enjoy your holiday, Sar!
Get well soon, Bonnybanko and belated birthday happys to Taichnan.

Have a good week. 🦩🥰🦩

Good morning from a very soggy Wiltshire.

I had a lovely birthday weekend. DD2 and family came over late morning on Saturday. The GC’s were pretty awful though fighting constantly. I wasn’t sorry to see them go. Then we drove towards Reading to stay overnight with DD1 and her family. After a surprise birthday cake we went out in the evening to their fab Indian in Twyford. Then yesterday we met with DS and his family at NT’s Basildon Park had a walk, played with their gorgeous goldendoodle and had tea and cake in the café. I felt very spoilt.

Today we have DGS2. Hope he’s better behaved than on Saturday! 🤞. DH still coughing a lot with his man flu. I haven’t had a hint of it luckily.

GrannyGravy - the Imp really was up to mischief. Happy Birthday Taichinan 💐. Wishing everyone a good day though probably little scope for being outdoors. Thoughts with poorlies and those with worries.

Greyduster Mon 30-Sept-24 07:15:28

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s very wet here and is set to be so all day. Yesterday I drove to the pub at the bottom of the valley and had a superb Sunday lunch. I don’t usually like eating out on my own, but it’s a nice pub and the staff are lovely. Later DD rang to tell me how her half marathon went. She said the going was hard but the Peak District scenery made up for it and she got round ok. I went for a local walk about four o’clock and a roe deer trotted across the path in front of me. I never knew we had deer in our local woods. It disappeared as quickly as it came but it made my day.
Today I shall be confined to barracks sorting paperwork and doing inventive things with a chicken!
Have the best day you can, folks.

Gingster Mon 30-Sept-24 07:16:56

Good morning. Wet and dreary.
I’ll take little DGD to school.

I have Chimes group this morning. It will be the first time we haven’t been able to sit in the garden. We’re usually fighting for the shade.

Financial advisor coming this afternoon.

Belated happy birthday Taichinan. 💐.
Safe journey home Ash
Thoughts to poorly and stressed grans.🙏

Take care 🍁🌻

GrannyGravy13 Mon 30-Sept-24 07:17:49

Morning from a grey windy corner of Essex.

Off to the gym first thing, then going to lunch with five gym buddies.

Other than that, nothing planned.

🙋‍♀️

kittylester Mon 30-Sept-24 07:27:15

Good morning all from a wet and windy North Leicestershire.

Lots of pootling and faffing today - inside - for me.

Have the best day possible everyone.

BlueSapphire Mon 30-Sept-24 07:27:57

Good morning everyone from a wet Northampton, going to rain all day according to local radio. Thank goodness I have a lift to yoga this morning!

Got home from DD's early afternoon yesterday and did very little - read the Sunday papers and watched rugby on tv. My team had a good win on Saturday, so could breathe easy the rest of the weekend.

When I get back from yoga this morning I must contact a neighbour to see if I can pop round at some time today; she turns 80 today and I have a card and bottle of fizz for her!

After that, an easy day reading. Sausage and home-made chunky oven chips for dinner.

Have a good day everyone, in spite of the weather.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 30-Sept-24 07:34:24

Morning all from a wet West Oxfordshire.

I’m thinking of those of you with difficulties as well as those who are celebrating.

A busy day looms. Our cleaner is due this morning. I have a Waitrose trip, a bag of books for the Charity shop and a visit to Specsavers. I sat on my favourite specs at the weekend so they need straightening out. After lunch I will finish the Christmas cake. I put the fruit to soak in rum overnight and I will transform it into a cake this afternoon,

OH is expecting a delivery of 100 or so jars today. He has a lot of honey to jar and then hopefully sell at a car boot sale. He needs to order some more labels. I don’t think he realised how much work was involved in being a beekeeper when he took it up just a year or so ago.

Have a good day.

baubles Mon 30-Sept-24 07:37:55

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where it’s dry but overcast.

I think we’ll take a run down to Dawyck Botanic Gardens in the borders today. It’s part of Edinburgh Botanic Gardens? Has hundreds of beautiful trees and should be looking beautiful at this time of year.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

brook2704 Mon 30-Sept-24 07:40:56

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s grey and cloudy but not raining yet.
Such difficult times with your mums Susan and grandmabatty 💐
I need to pop into town to collect an M&S order and drop some eBay sales off at the post office. DD2 gave me a big bag of things to sell 🙄 - it’s mainly children’s toys and games that they’ve outgrown. Unfortunately there’s no news on her house move, the house chain seems stuck in limbo as one buyer is from overseas and struggling to get a mortgage so I think she’s going to have to and start all over again
Safe journey home Ash and everyone else on the move today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Georgesgran Mon 30-Sept-24 07:43:53

Good morning from Durham where rain is forecast around 9am.
I’m meeting a friend at a local garden centre this morning, then a mammoth shop at Tesco, as my Sis-in-Law is coming up from Cheshire to stay for a week. Lovely lady, but a gold medal winning, first class shopper - I’m not, but I’ll bite the bullet and take her wherever she wants to go!
Hopefully, I’ll see another friend early evening, as I’ve cancelled all my own gallivanting for the week.
Are you due another check-up Mick. Maybe call your team if the weight loss bothers you?

Best wishes to all. X

GrannyIvy Mon 30-Sept-24 07:56:05

Good morning, raining here again in Cambridgeshire and strong winds overnight. Today the 10 & 5 year old GC go back to school at long last. What a long summer holiday they have had due to the school fire. They are excited to see their friends again.
Meanwhile DD2 has reported after all the rain her shed is leaking so we are going over this morning to investigate and hopefully weather permitting repair! We had planned walking in the grounds at our local National Trust property but will attempt that tomorrow now!
Will have school pick up later and gym class with the 5 year old.

Sending best wishes to all with life challenges at the mo💐 Have the best day possible.

Redcar Mon 30-Sept-24 07:56:50

Good morning everyone from a very soggy and windy mid Essex. I won’t bother with a walk today but have done a few exercises instead,
I’ll resume tidying the garage today and do some ironing then potter around the house. I’m sure I’ll find something to do.
susan sorry you are in such a difficult situation with your mother. sar have a lovely trip to Bodrum.
taichinan I hope you had a happy birthday yesterday.
Stay dry everyone.

luluaugust Mon 30-Sept-24 08:07:16

Good morning from a wet N Norfolk. Not sure what we will do today, a reminder of childhood holidays, wet and cold.
Belated happy birthday taichinan
Thinking of those with problems
