So enjoying current, worse present ever, made me think about my best present ever, my beloved mother-in-law gave me enormous wrapped present just a few days before my wedding, the most beautiful fur jacket, she said, thought you’d like that more than a set of saucepans!! I so did😀

Best present for me was from my son. It was a kitten. Black and white, who we called Ruby, we thought was a girl, who turned out to be a boy. We didn’t change his name: ruby suited him. 💕
He was the best cat ever, everyone loved him so much. Sadly no longer with us. 😢

I loved the portable sewing machine my husband bought me just after we married. I certainly got my moneysworth from it over the 60 years until it gave up.

My brother's girlfriend, a student aged 18 at the time, gave me a pretty padded coathanger that she had decorated herself. She was talented at sewing and it was beautiful. I was really touched as it must have taken hours to make. I love presents that people have made.

REPORTED - but a clever way to slide in an advertisement!

A beautiful British Shorthair rescue cat was my best present. Taken to the rescue centre by my daughters to choose one. She was called Amie and had not moved from her little space for 4 weeks after being taken there because she was so scared. I went to look at several cats and she licked my hand , the staff were surprised but she was all for me from that moment. Sadly I only had her 4 years as she became suddenly unwell and the vet found she had liver cancer and I had to have her put to sleep which was terrible.

I have two daft little sibling cats now but I still miss Amie and she was my best present EVER!

A recent favourite present is from my 15 year old GD is a shell, inside which she painted an image of my dog.
