Good Morning Everyone,
Dark but dry at the moment here in brackley this morning.
I seem to have a bit of cold due weather changes .
With a Wiltshire Farms delivery due , I may go to Bicester later .
Did my first smart meter reading ,and submitted it , my usage as before but a more accurate reading.
Take Care,
Mick

Marydoll I can’t be the only one who finds a telephone call regarding hearing loss amusing! 🤣

Sit on your dilemma for a while grandMattie. If it were me I’d keep in touch occasionally. An email now and again costs nothing and then you won’t feel mean. If she proposes a visit (perhaps she feels she’s ready for a holiday) I’d be honest and say no it doesn’t suit.

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey but dry Carlisle. The heavy rain forecast yesterday turned out to be a brief shower. The forecast today reports us as being very windy-the air is still! I don't think this county exists for forecasters!

Today will be a busy morning finishing off the housework and laundry, this afternoon I have a GP appointment. I will take advantage of being in town to do a little necessary shopping and try to avoid looking at the new autumn stock arriving in M&S.
I shall also continue with my magazines and finish watching 'Sambre' on BBC IPlayer.

I presume that email wasn't full of genuine, belated gratitude to you and remorse for past behaviour grandMattie. I second everyone else's advice.

Have a good day everyone if possible.

Good morning from cool and grey South Lanarkshire.

We didn’t go out yesterday as the weather was wet so I got through a pile of ironing in the morning. Mainly DH’s clothes which take a lot of effort, he is the one who does most of the washing and would do his own ironing but the results are so awful that I can’t bear it.

I spent the afternoon crocheting and listening to an audiobook, most of the time I shared my chair with the daft dug.

Not sure what today will bring, I’ll watch the weather and go from there.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning all from a cold start to the day here on the east coast of Fife, that’s my heating kicked in again

I think I’ll do an online shopping at Sainsburys , otherwise a stay in cosy day watching tv.

Take care my friends lots of viruses going around

Good morning from a grey and wet NE.
Yesterday was dark and miserable too so did the washing and ironing.
Had a message from DS to say DIL was ill and would be unable to take me to the dental appointment today, my sister said she would go with me.
Just had a message from DIL to say she is no better which means DS will have to do the school run.
Had an enjoyable couple of hours watching the quarter finals of young musician last night, such talented musicians.
Be wary grandMattie, she took advantage of your kindness.
Stay warm and dry today.

You have all echoed my unease re. Lodger. I shall sit on her mail for a while; reply with anodyne comments and be fiercely protective of my privacy. Certainly no holiday with me….

She has friends in Cornwall where she takes her dog. I’m emphatically dog-free, although I do like her little dog (that didn’t stay with me). I don’t know whether she is driving. TBH, I really don’t care.
She never was a friend, but an acquaintance for whom I felt dreadfully sorry.

Good morning from Durham. Wall to wall rain is forecast!

I’ve had a dreadful night - only a couple of hours sleep and for once, I feel like a washed out rag. I have my Sis-in-Law coming to stay, so I’ll have to get a grip!

gM please heed the warnings.

Pleased the Dolls enjoyed their anniversary. Wonder if the GP will be a complete farce?

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Pouring with rain here so no chance of drying the washing outside. A drawback of having a house full of people is the amount of laundry, especially after they leave.
I hope for a quiet day today.
Gaelic class begins this evening.

Yesterday was so full on. Driving to the airport at dawn, followed by a tetanus booster. Bus into Edinburgh for the art appreciation group at a gallery and a talk / slide show about Edinburgh cinemas of the 1950s in the evening when I nodded off.
My lodgers cooked the supper.

I would read that letter thoroughly before replying gMattie, between the lines
You were needing support yourself at the time and looking after her was not what you needed.

Birthday wishes to all those celebrating today.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone, and happy White Rabbits Day to all!🐇🐇 It's very wet here in Northampton, and heavy rain expected all day, so it looks as though I won't get to my health walk this afternoon.

A good yoga session yesterday, but mood rather affected by.the news that a regular member has stage 4 breast cancer. She wasn't there yesterday but had been in contact with our teacher and had asked her to tell us. Went for coffee afterwards feeling grateful for every day.
A fellow class member told me he had booked tickets for the live tour of Tony Blackburn 's Sounds of the Sixties live show at our local theatre next year - I hadn't noticed it in the programme, so as soon as I got home I booked two tickets! It is on next July, and I have asked a neighbour if she would like to come.

I later visited said neighbour yesterday with birthday card and bottle of fizz in hand as she turned 80! She had nothing planned for the day which was what she wanted but she and her DH were going out for a meal. He had presented her with a fantastic present - a trip to New York with her daughter, which will be early next month.

Spent the afternoon reading and finished my current book, which I shall give to a friend, shan't want it back as it is a charity shop book. I have ordered my next book club read from the library; just waiting for an email to let me know it is awaiting collection.

Have nothing lined up for today, so may catch up with some recorded programmes.

Have a pleasant day everyone.

Good morning from N Bucks where it has been raining (quelle surprise) quite heavily in the night but just a fine drizzle now. I might be in a minority but like FGT I would give the erstwhile lodger the benefit of the doubt, there may be a good reason why she was not in touch, read what she has to say but ignore any requests for visits should they arise. “I’m so sorry, that doesn’t work for me” - usually does the trick, no need to give reasons .
Your good intentions of two years ago backfired spectacularly and with hindsight you probably realise it was never going to be a good idea, however well intentioned, but that is behind you now and you have moved on.
I think I might have to go to MK today, I have things to take back to M&S and White Stuff but am fairly confident I will escape without further purchases as I hate shopping centres!
Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Good morning and white rabbits from a damp northwest coast.
Rain all yesterday but no flooding unlike some unfortunates.
The cat stayed in all day and so did I.

This afternoon to the music club, where I am on duty, my last visit before my op, after which I can’t sing for a while.
I would give your ‘friend’ a wide berth GM.
Thoughts to all as always 🌺

Yet another grey day - as Bill Bryson put it, it’s like living in Tupperware as the cloud is so low. Shopping and admin are today’s highlights.

Yet another one here urging gMattie to be very cautious. She doesn’t need this person in her life so why respond? Users are impervious to their effect on other people so there is unlikely to be a good outcome from renewing the relationship. Glad Marydoll had a small celebration and hope today goes well for everyone.

A late good morning from S Hants where we had a few rays of sun, now clouded over. Yesterday was averagely busy on the voluntary phone, but complicated and carried over to this morning.
Last quiz was fun with an edge of sadness, but rumour has a new tenant is possibly in the wings, so 🤞.
That woman is a taker gMattie I’m sure you know what to do, or rather not do.
Have a pleasant day all, I hope all medical visits go well and outings are enjoyed.
